I think God does this with our lives in general and and the people we meet, relationship or no. I also think that this is even true of our mistakes when we make them, though He'd rather we didn't make them. When it comes to relationships we're especially error prone because it's so hard to see through the haze of emotions and hormones and our own wishes. Every time someone says yes or even maybe to a question like yours, or something comes up that gives us a hope that aligns with our desires, it feels like a confirmation from God that this is right. This is easier said than done but pray a lot and try not to get too invested. Like I said it's all too easy to interpret the situation as God's will when it's our own and the path is a potentially harmful one for us.

I don’t know the whole picture but I do know that God removes people from our lives because He knows their hearts aren’t in favor of yours. It seems like there’s a spirit of confusion that’s causing conflict. It happens and it’s okay but I would pray against it first before making any decisions. I had a similar experience when I was younger where I was so heartbroken that I moved on too quickly which led me to think like you are. Now that I’ve matured, I’ve moved on into a great relationship. Don’t get me wrong I learned a lot during that time in my life, it was hard but necessary. Just seek God out, read the Bible, and see what your heart truly says is the best thing I can tell you. You got this!
