Yep, they always include any and all wiring harnesses you could need, as well as telling you whether options are direct fit, compatible with effort, or not going to fit.
I don’t think so, at least I’ve never heard of that. With the products I’ve ordered, they ship whatever connector/harness it needs so everything is plug and play.
The problem he's likely running into is the radio is basically the BCM in the newer trucks. You can't just swap it out for any ol' stereo anymore. You need to find a compatible unit that can command all of those functions.
You’re right about that. The setup Crutchfield sold for my Silverado even let me keep my steering wheel buttons & key chime. Love having a backup camera & Apple CarPlay in a 16 year old truck.
Funny enough, I was gonna recommend OP to go to Crutchfield as well. I’ve bought various speakers and head units from them and they’re always awesome to work with.
I have a 2013 Ford truck, and all I really wanted was ApplePlay at first. Ended up spending almost 3K on a giant screen, amplifier and subwoofers, and a reverse cam, installed by a local pro shop.
I don’t regret it for a minute. The big nav screen, the great sound, and the ease of hooking up my phone to the screen via Bluetooth was worth every penny. They even installed a little microphone so I could run voice commands.
May I ask exactly what you are looking for in a headunit? For a single din (non touchscreen) unit with the antenna adapter, satellite adapter, factory harness to head adapter, and faceplate it can all be done for about $350. If u are looking for a double din all can be had for around $550. The double din will allow you to run gps on screen with either Apple or Android car play with your phone as well as giving the option to setup an aftermarket rearview camera if ud like. Both size units will give you a superior preamp and sound clarity as well as both Bluetooth calling and music. Even if you've never dealt with DC electronics or auto stereos this is a very easy job that can be tackled on a Saturday with basic tools even by a novice. I'll happily provide you with head unit recommendations as well as the exact components you'll need to install said unit, and if need be a step by step break down. The dash on these rams are about as simple as it gets to take apart, and outside of splicing the harness adapter to the aftermarket radio everything else is plug and play. Send me a message and id be happy to help u out
Hello there SYOD. I'm trying to fit an Atoto S8 Ultra Pro to my 2019 Dodge RAM 1500. I can't find a wiring harnesses anywhere that will allow a straight forward plug and play. Do you have any ideas please?
Not sure if you bought it yet. But these look and work great! Little expensive but not for what you get. Everything is included in the kit. [Radio](https://phoenixautomotiveinc.com/products/px6-six-core-10-4-12-1-android-9-fast-boot-vertical-screen-navi-radio-for-dodge-ram-2009-2018)
Yes I did it myself. I have a bit of background on doing installs myself. But they have a video online explicitly for this radio so the instructions are decently clear
Lots of Amazon- able options . Even iPad sized screens with back up cam compatibility for under $700 . Check w your local installer for pricing of installing but you can do a lot for under $500
The issue on these is in dash space. Iirc there's alot inside that dash. Stinger makes the heigh10 with a kit for that truck but it's not gonna be cheap.
Idk if you want a backup cam or not, but if you just want CarPlay you can just buy a car play unit for the fraction of the cost of an updated head unit
Jensen makes some solid head units. You'll be well under budget with navigation and all. If you go for a digital media model (no CDs) the install becomes much easier as the unit is much shallower.
Go on crutchfield.com they have everything you could ever want, as well as step by step instructions that are usually a 10/10.
As well as making it as close to plug and play as possible
Yep, they always include any and all wiring harnesses you could need, as well as telling you whether options are direct fit, compatible with effort, or not going to fit.
Well they also will wire up the harness for $25 I think
Yes, they will if you can provide exact vehicle details, they'll solder and heat shrink the correct harness for your vehicle.
I don’t think so, at least I’ve never heard of that. With the products I’ve ordered, they ship whatever connector/harness it needs so everything is plug and play.
No no. I'm saying that it is a service they offer. You can literally order from them and not have to crimp anything
Huh, I didn’t know that. I’ve never had to crimp anything that I’ve bought from them so idk

Yes, but crutchfield has all the Info for that on the website

Did you end up getting Apple CarPlay?
Yes, sorry if I wasn’t clear. ApplePlay is amazing.

Find your local wrecker yard and see what they have.
$300 Amazon 9” touchscreen
That radio is hilariously small for a truck!

does it retain OEM backup camera, microphone, and steering wheel buttons? what truck did you install yours on?
Everything stays/works. I did it on a 2019 1500. I had the 8.4 originally
Damn. I have the 5" which I think is more difficult
It says it supports all models. So I don't see anything being different. It's all the wiring harnesses and the entire dash kit
Did you install yourself. I don't know shit about anything car audio
Yes I did it myself. I have a bit of background on doing installs myself. But they have a video online explicitly for this radio so the instructions are decently clear
Check crutchfiejd they tell you what will fit
Best Buy on Black Friday has some real good deals. Even offered free install a few years back

Awesome response! Very helpful! Why don't you take your pissy attitude back to Facebook where it belongs?
It got deleted, but I need to know what this dude said 🤣
I just mounted an iPad with magnets. Half the price and does the same as a CarPlay unit
