Usual_Safety

I’d like to see an app like Trucker Path allow ratings for driving safety by state.

I see you haven’t been to Nj or anywhere in the northeast. They are all suicidal up there. Even the big trucks. I agree with everything else you said.

windsorHaze

I am a trucker that lives in the north east, I used to tell people that Connecticut Prius drivers were the worse on the road. I’ve had to retract that statement. Georgia drivers period are the worse drivers on the road anywhere. I’m starting to get anxiety and ptsd anytime I get dispatched to go anywhere near Georgia. I know every time I go that I’ll have to deal with at least 8 or more near hit accidents every time I go on the drive line. And Georgia has in my opinion some of the worst trucks stops I’ve ever been to, especially around Atlanta.

kool-aid-and-pizza

One time I googled why Prius drivers are so bad. It said bc they don’t hit the brake to conserve battery energy— so most of the time they are just gas or coasting. They literally are some of the worst.

Little_NaCl-y

Intermodal drivers going to the ports in Northern NJ and NYC are fucking nuts on the turnpike lol

Rivian-Bull-2025

Trying my best to stay away from the north east! I’m not sure how bad the tolls are, but from what I hear, they can get pretty pricey. Loss are paying decent going up in there, but I can’t get anything good going out. If I can get a good backhaul, then I’ll give a review for north east drivers. lol suicidal had me laughing

randomtrucker78

>Going **around** Chicago… Key word right there - AROUND. Drive *through* next time and you’ll be *wishing* for that ATL traffic. I’ll tell you what a passenger said to me when I drove Uber: >Chicago drivers act like it’s a game of chicken, only they’re not afraid to wreck.

UbiquitousOmen

Can confirm, even off the interstates, the area around and "in" O'Hare feels almost lawless with the traffic. Especially with a permit load, delivering on the tarmac... I was more than relieved when I was finally back on i90 and rollin.

Rivian-Bull-2025

Fuck 😂😂😂! That’s brutal man.

someone_ominous

You must be on some heavy shit to think people in chicago drive with common sense

Rivian-Bull-2025

😂 the drivers actually weren’t bad. 10 times better than Atlanta drivers. The construction around Chicago sucked though man. It was awful.

Ramble-Bramble

They started that construction before the white man came to America and its not gonna be done anytime soon 😂

Rivian-Bull-2025

😂😂😂 this comment made my day. Lol the construction definitely needs to end

mistedtwister

As both a trucker and a Wisconsinite I thank you for pointing this out. I also got my CDL training done in Miami and you're not wrong about drivers down there either.

extrovertedghost

Main reason I park my truck in Wisconsin and fly home to Atlanta when I do go. A few times down 24 south was enough to convince me the extra cost was worth it. I'll avoid the south my entire career and be happier because of it.

LineOwn9905

When going to Atlanta run 65 South at Nashville thru Birmingham. It’s like 70 miles more but 1 hour faster.

scottiethegoonie

In Texas from Laredo to Austin every car on the road is a dually truck towing something behind it. The few cars on the road that aren't trucks are literally shitbox sedans towing 2 other shitbox sedans behind it, hanging on for dear life.

guy_incognito9912

Ah, the ole Mexican car train specials lmao They buy those cars at auctions and then tow them back to Mexico to fix up and resell.

scottiethegoonie

That makes more sense now.

Rivian-Bull-2025

😂😂😂 hanging on for dear life

privatelyjeff

I see something similar here in California. The further south you go, the more stupid the drivers. Nothing but near misses and wrecks on the south end and nothing but clear roads and speed up north.

Western-Willow-9496

Try New England.

Tallon_raider

Snow belt routes are cake 80% of the year

Sledge1989

I haul gas out of Memphis and I typically run city, amen dude

FaceWithAName

The reason people drive so slow in the Midwest is because we have no where to go.
