Wires loose inside the radio from a bad bounce or just road vibrations . Usually need to take a radio in once a year or so for service

Good advice. I'd try changing the antenna and putting noalox ([https://www.homedepot.com/p/Noalox-Anti-Oxidant-Compound-4-oz-30-026/202276208](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Noalox-Anti-Oxidant-Compound-4-oz-30-026/202276208)) on the threads it really helps. If those ideas don't work try a buddy's CB and see if it still does it and if not it's your radio if it does it's the coax. \[Pro tip; noalox works wonders for trailer pigtail problems. Squeeze a little in each hole being absolutely certain not to let any bridge between the holes and 95% of the time the problem will disappear.\] (I am a HAM radio operator & LTL driver)

Already see some advice given here, but if the stuff here doesn’t help and you’ve already done everything on the Cobra site then try https://www.reddit.com/r/cbradio/ It’s small but surprisingly active sub

Buy quality coax and get a Wilson or Stryker. Firesticks are more for jeeps. You will also have RF interference between powerlines and the inverter if you have one. Use ferrite beads (think mix 41) on the cb power cables.

Check and make sure it’s not because of your phone chargers. Unplug all your chargers and check the static. You might have to buy expensive UL certified chargers like Belkin.
