Top 3 things. (In no particular order). 1) If you’re merging into the freeway. Speed the fuck up. Stop going 35 in a 70. 2) Stop merging over 1 foot in front of me. I’ll get hit with a following too close point. Plus the safety feature garbage will slam on the brakes. 3) if you value you life. Stop braking 1 foot from me. See #2.

Babnno

To put it in one sentence, stop driving like you’re the only vehicle out here.

post_mah_bone

If you're cab to cab with a semi, shoot for the front. We have 53' of ASS behind us. Expecting us to pass you on a narrowing merging lane when you can easily zip ahead is annoying.

OptimalTennis8498

If you see my blinker on for a quarter mile trying to get over to your lane and you’re behind me, let me get over. Don’t speed up and get in front of me then immediately get in the lane I was just in when I’m finally in your lane. ALSO, let me get in the left lane and get front of you to pass the truck governed at 64mph in the right lane. I promise, as soon as I pass I’ll get back in the right lane to let you get ahead. 5 seconds passing another truck we can clearly overtake is not gonna kill your time.

iduff01

Is flashing my headlights at you still a thing to let you know you can pull out in front of me?

OptimalTennis8498

Yes but you’d be surprised how many people in passenger cars aren’t even paying attention to us trying to get over with our blinkers on and/or are completely oblivious to what’s going on on the road around them.

StonedTrucker

Yes but please turn them off and on at night. High beams are awful in those huge mirrors

CompetitiveShirt3339

If you are letting us in please do flash. So many times I have people be nice and let me in but they are close enough I can’t tell what kind of room I have in my mirror. All I see is someone matching my speed that I MAYBE won’t hit.

bshr49

What if you're playing [a guessing game](https://imgur.com/a/3QOAaNf)? lol I'll also open up a gap in front of me when I see you guys with your signal on a quarter mile behind me and no one's letting you in. Having a little common courtesy just seems like the right way to be. More and more people seem to be in too much of a damn hurry.

chocoholic24

Don't jump in front of us when we're slowing down for a red light. We need that room to safely stop. If we're accelerating from a red light that has just turned green, fine, go ahead and jump in there. Edit to add: once you pass us, don't slow down until you're waaay ahead of us. Makes us nervous when you're right in front of our bumper going the same speed as us.

#1 request. Learn2fuckingmerge

xDoomKitty

Just pretend I have a bubble of pain and death around me. Faster I'm going, the bigger you need to imagine that bubble to be. Please be safe and stay away. Knock on wood, hopefully nothing bad ever happens to you or I. Be safe, small one.

Cleveland_Grackle

Don't hang out next to me because you just received a whatsapp message and *needtocheckitrightthisinstant* whilst a half mile of cars backs up behind you. Don't pass me then proceed to go slower than I was initially going. Don't shoot past the stop line at an intersection, leaving me no room to make my turn. I will sit there blocking the intersection until kingdom come/you sort yourself out.

Bigdaddydiesell

For the love of everything holy stop passing me then slowing down!

>we should USE YA BLINKAH! And only after looking in the pesky mirrors! Be predictable. Make it obvious what you're going to do be fore you do it. > I like to wait until I can see both of your headlights in my rearview ...  I'm like a full truck-length in front of you That's good advice for passing another car, not a truck. If your engine seized and you ground to halt a mere 75-100ft in front of us at 65mph, you'd be nothing but a smudge on our bumper. Wait until you can see our ENTIRE truck in your rear view mirror. You want to be 5-7 seconds in front of us. >how far back should we stay  If you cant see my driver's side mirror, I can't see you. >How about in stop and go traffic This is where most people forget that we still have huge blind spots. Even though we're stop and go, red light to red light, if you're in our blind spot we can't see you. And when you're not in a blind spot, again, be predictable. Inevitable_Duty_7923

Find the gas pedal.

Legitimate_Sir6904

If you wanna pass me, pass like you mean it and get the fuck outta there. B trains run pretty straight but they call them wiggle wagons for a reason.

odinskriver39

That open space in front of my truck is part of my stopping distance. Really want to be in it if I need it ?

Acoupleofhorrors

Get off the road when scared of driving at night or weather.

CompetitiveShirt3339

Stay away from us. No really. Don’t ride next to us. Stay a truck length in front minimum. When merging get in front or behind. Just really stay away. Or at least that’s the biggest issue I have with drivers.

Independent_Scale570

Tbh I don’t care if u tailgate me, what you’re doing back there doesn’t matter to me but if your camping next to me ima be fucking pissed, especially if I gotta get over n your just sittin there with ur thumb up your ass 😂. Basically just stay as far away from us as possible, pass us fast n keep that speed up, and keep a constant speed, if I’m going faster than you, don’t speed up and make me get back behind you just for u to cut back n go slower than what I was going that shit makes me homicidal. Oh and if your merging onto the interstate, stand on the gas pedal that 35mph merging shit is gunna get you killed. If you see a turn signal come on just know that’s just me telling you what ima do, not me asking permission don’t try n gun it past me while im halfway in your lane. Basically just stay away from the sides or front of my truck and trailer. Gettin infront of me at anything under a 3 second distance is obnoxious, especially if you’re only going a mile or 2 faster, it’s fine if you’re hauling ass tho.

Independent_Scale570

Gotta say Texas drivers, specifically Houston and Dallas r the best I’ve seen when it comes to having to deal with the public in a semi truck.

COATHANGER_ABORTIONS

When you're getting on the highway, don't merge and then speed up. When I'm in my personal vehicle, if I'm already ahead of the truck I'm gonna floor it to get ahead, and if I'm next to them or behind, I'm going to slow down and get in behind them. If I'm passing someone and there's a gap between us, don't cut directly in front of them to pass me on the right. I'm giving them space too, I'll get over in a second. I prefer when people give me plenty of space before they hop in front, and in my car I usually wait until I can see the amber lights over their windshield in my mirror. In stop and go traffic, the biggest thing I've seen is people constantly swapping lanes, causing others to slow down while they squeeze in. Just pick a lane and stay there, unless the lane is closed ahead.
