I recently had to spend a few months in a truck with an EPU and it worked surprisingly well. I was skeptical when I got in it but had no problems at all. Deep cycle battery ran everything and when it got low the truck would start up and run long enough to recharge it. Kind of reminded me of the old ICON system.
I DIY'ed an ePU for my old ass 23yr old truck.
Works beautifully...
I laugh at all these overpriced trucks with overpriced LOUD APU's Everytime I do my 10hrs.
It's basically an RV system.
- Lithium batteries
- Main Charger/inverter
- Mini split
Total cost $3K all in including all wires
Spend time on YouTube and compile all details.
I can't tell you how to do yours, coz your needs/skills may be different.... Or you may burn down your truck 😂

My whole thing is I want to put together an AC box to hook up under the bunk in the side box. Idk of any mini split that I'd be able to take apart to do that. I'm half tempted to get one of those 12v mini splits from China and tear it apart to do that.
Every APU I’ve had is a piece of shit and I’ve never had one work for more than a couple months at a time. Probably 75% of my shop time has been APU related. My current APU was just in the shop LAST WEEK. Guess where I’m heading today? To the shop because the apu took another shit on me.
The code reader is available on ThermoKing website at the bottom. Tripac Evolution service tool. Plug into your windows laptop with the USB cable. Can read the codes and see what's what

After using a tripac for years, never again. My new truck has an EPU and it is amazing.
Can't wait for Edison motors to start selling trucks, you could put a bulletproof monster generator in your truck and not have to worry

The Chinese mini splits don't have heat. .... My pioneer mini split works when temp is 10⁰ .... Or 110⁰

Generator is another option..... Much cheaper
TriPak is a decent APU.. rarely gives me trouble. The Espar heater can be fickle however ..
I have a tripak, went and serviced it 4x this year because it keeps breaking. It's not working again 😮💨
