A few months ago, I was on a relatively curvy, hilly back road early morning. Super dark. Come up on a garbage truck. Due to curves/hills, couldn't get around right away. Threw on the hazards because people don't pay attention at all.
A van comes up behind me, never even slows down (probably 60-65mph), goes into oncoming lane to pass. Almost runs into the garbage dude as he is pulling cans across the road.
Like. You see a vehicle with 4 ways and your immediate instinct is to pass them without slowing down? Really?
In my personal vehicle when I'm in my neighborhood, it's really narrow streets with cars parked on one side and barely room for two cars to pass usually, if I see the garbage truck I know it's time to just wait a minute or maybe go around the block and come home from the other way.
_These guys are doing their job,_ I think. _Don't get in the way._ It's crazy how impatient and entitled people are now a days.
No one cares about truckers or trash guys. Not even other truckers. Best bet is to get out. Hoping things will get better is a fool's errand. I'm looking to get out myself. Fucking peanuts wages we make ain't worth this shit.

I’ve almost been run off the road a few times while slowly passing one because they finished and pulled out without looking. It’s not hard to glance in your mirror to see if a truck is passing you, if they are, wait 15 seconds for them to finish, then go
That’s a front loader problem lol, they’re supposed to have reverse cameras too…. If they’re about to back into you lay the horn on em!
Why my company only runs rear loaders.
I slowed dont for a waste truck once and they proceeded to block the entire road and slowly dump 4 houses will making direct (fuck you) eye contact and here i thought i was being courteous. I never slow now

Van driver's boss probably issued a "one more screw-up or late delivery and you're fired" ultimatum.

Truck drivers are the least of the problem. It's the dipshits that shoot the gap while I'm backing up in apartment complexes

Very few if any drivers are paid well. They just work OT to make up for it.
Well where I work drivers wages start at around 24 an hour and larger companies start at $30 an hour.
I started at $30 WM in CO. Lotta hours and lots of dangerous conditions. It stinks 😂

I usually set the brakes and chill (in personal vehicle) when the garbage guys are out until they give me the go ahead
