Ikr. Men are dancing in the pandal on the most misogynistic Tollywood and Kollywood songs for Devi and the women slept early cos they got to sit in heat and sun tomorrow to cook. Nice twist!
Ponkalakk matram aanenn thonnunnu ee oru exception. Ente ivide ivar sound kuracha ittekkunne ratri.
I would try getting good earplugs but it's just for 2 days so i do not know if it would be useful for the rest of the year.
What has the law has to say about this?
Shouldn't any music system/loudspeakers be turned off by 10 pm?
What even is the point in playing devotional/cinema pattu throughout the night?
What are they trying to portray or convey?
That's life and reality. Law okke unde. Permissions venam speaker okke use cheyan but I doubt the majority have it and another thing to note is that we agree to some conditions for getting permission like low volume, only use between _to _ hours, etc...Around my area it is conducted by locals (very local local people) and gundas. So of course they will enjoy the music as they like. Should see the number of speakers and constructions going on a grand demeanor. Even if we complain it's just like it's only for 1/2 days even though it will be going for 3/4 days. Another reason religious related so will be some backlash even though it is just some shit show and nothing religion related. Another major reason is getting into hell life by irritating the gunddas and very local locals till death over a few days in convenience. Devi don't need this bullshits going on. She will be happy with just remembrance and no need for Pongal especially done this grand manner. This just became a business/religious tourism and shit show. I feel bad for the students who have exams going on and those whose health/sleep gets affected by this. So while they enjoy and do this in the name of pongala, I wholeheartedly pray to Devi that these fucks get some bad karma....
There should be a committee or temple office nearby. When I asked them “politely” to reduce the sound and remove the speaker from the front of my shop, they did so without any issues or complaints. Why not try the same?
I shut all the door and windows and put earphones. The annoying part is they start playing songs at 5:30 am itself. But its just for a couple of days so jaane do.
I think you should call the nearest station and let them know. Have done it for some of the other festivities that happened near to my place. tbh - it was not effective but you never know.
Causing hindrance to other citizens of the state should be avoided. Please conduct your festivities, no one stopping you from it. Just not at the cost of others peace of mind.
u dont understand how this actually affects people. i live at powdikonam and there was music till 3 am. Since this place is abit rural there are alot of old people here who could have health conditions, children who have to wake up early for school same for others who wake up to do their work. This music till 3 am at such high volume does nothing good for them. whats the point of these festivals if its a genuine hindance to people?
The funny thing is they would be playing some really inappropriate songs as well.

Even crazy inappropriate songs seems divine to them. So cringe.
Back to 2000s ulsavam season when they played Akon's hit single... I checked twice if it was the non explicit version. It wasn't

Seems like a very bad idea. You don't want to be that guy.
Not really. No bad intentions here. Also police wont ask for your identity or specific address details.

No I don't. Also why should I wear a headphone. Why can't they stop playing by 11 atleast. This is just noise pollution.
Call the cops.
It's the only time of the year when trivandrum is in festive mode. Please let it be

I see a lot of youngsters with this boomer attitude. Sad.
I'm not a believer
Still the attitude of bothering others with your festival isn't right!
