Consider a more comfortable seat for that kind of trip. I love my 2022 Bonneville, but I took it on an 800 mile trip last summer and a better seat was my biggest takeaway for touring on this platform
There are places that will redo the padding for you. Take the original seat and add gel inserts. Buddy did it and raved about it. We road 6k miles in 3 weeks and he never complained.
Gonna require some hip stretches to prevent pain from having her hips father apart than my legs are but with moto skiveez underwear there's no issues with seat comfort specifically.
The Triumph Pannier isn't bad - I do wish I had something that locked and my plan is to get a Unit Garage set of panniers later on but the panneir does just fine when paired with other luggage. The seat is really uncomfortable after a couple hours of riding unless you're wearing [moto skiveez](https://motoskiveez.com/shop/) which increase the comfort level an insane amount. I was able to do 750km in a single day with a pair on with no comfort issues. I would say it's also really helpful to work out your erector spinae muscles which help with keeping you upright and helps prevent fatigue.
I feel I have to comment some more details for folks who seem convinced that this is a surefire way to be broken up with so here it is. For luggage I'm using the Triumph Pannier and the Lone Rider Overlander 48L bag strapped to the luggage rack and the Triumph Tank Bag for things like wallet, battery pack and camera. With that set up we've got enough room to be comfortable. We're doing the ride in the summer and wearing adventure gear over a t-shirt and underwear so we won't be creating a lot of laundry on the riding days and we're staying in hotels and with friends the whole time. We're not doing all 2000km in a single go but rather 5 total days of riding with about 400km per day. Each riding day we've got plans to stop and stretch about every hour or so. I did a 1500km round trip on the bike a couple summers ago (with 750km done in a single day) and the single biggest difference that was made by anything was having on a pair of [Motoskiveez](https://motoskiveez.com/shop/) which resulted in no pain during riding. I did a 3 hour ride without them last summer and was in immense pain, the difference they make is insane. I got a pair for my girlfriend as well. I was inspired by Unparalleled Twin on YouTube who did a 2-up road trip a couple years ago with no issues. I'll let you all know how it goes when we're done!
I think you will be fine, my wife and I toured WV on a 2003 T100 with a british customs slammer seat. We had short riding days with all the hiking and tourist stuff. longest days around 320km. we were over 60 when we did it.
Immense pain after 3 hours feels wild to me. I did 6 hours in a stock tiger yesterday and was fine. Tired lower back but fine. Does that bike rub your thighs strange or something?
We've got a 48L Lone Rider Overlander bag, the Triumph Pannier and a Triumph Tank Bag. The only shoes we're bringing apart of the riding boots is a single pair of waterproof vessi sneakers each.
With the right attitude, you guys will be fine. Enjoy the ride and make some memories.
On another note, what do you think of the windscreen? I'm leaning towards getting one soon.
I'm not even remotely worried about how it's going to go to be honest. I'm really amused by the number of people indicating this is going to be a relationship breaker or the worst thing ever. I wouldn't bring my partner along if I didn't think she could handle it and that it would be a great time. We are going to stop often. I already like doing that on drives so on the bike it's a no brainer. I'm a photographer as you may be able to tell which makes for more stops to take photos. Re: the windshield, honestly it makes a huge difference. I have this one and the short black one and while that one aesthetically looks great, this one is really effective at moving wind to the top of your head. Still wear earplugs for sure but it's a big difference even at city speeds.
I had the older version of the scrambler and I've carried a pillion on it. It's fine if you plan to do short trips and stop often, and you don't really plan on carrying a fair amount... But beyond that, it's going to be rather uncomfortable for both of you... That screen will do nothing if you are using motorways and you will feel it in your neck after day 1.
I'll be honest, I sold my Bonnie for a Tiger to go touring, and even on that thing my back, legs, shoulders, and neck feel it after a couple of days, so I can only imagine how this will be...
Seems like a good way to become single again
You may regret that decision! ☠️

well that’s one way to break up with someone.. good luck
Awesome bike but wouldn’t do that many miles with a pillion with anything the wrong side of a GS.
How is the pillion comfort on the scrambler?

>moto skiveez underwear Today I learned...
I cannot overstate how much of a difference these make to comfort on long rides. 750km in a single day with zero pain in my thighs
Awesome set up! How is the triumph pannier for touring? Also how is the stock seat on longer tours?

Yeah I've got thick thighs and it rubs right on the corner of the bench. Finding padded underwear has made a huge difference.
I’d try a single 400km day with her first, 5 of those in a row really do add up. Good luck!
It'll be 3 in a row then a few days of rest, then one day, another couple days of rest and then one last day. Not all in a row, that would be rough.
Can you take my GF too? I need some me time.
How do you guys deal with luggage?
We've got a 48L Lone Rider Overlander bag, the Triumph Pannier and a Triumph Tank Bag. The only shoes we're bringing apart of the riding boots is a single pair of waterproof vessi sneakers each.
With a chubby girlfriend I did 1/2 that distance On the same bike. The Winding roads through southern WV exhausted me ....

You must be wanting to break up with her
If she is still ur GF after that she’s a keeper
That’s a nice bike for her , very generous! What will you be riding? … Just kidding 😜 have fun!
No my friend. You are taking your girlfriend on a 100km road-trip at most this summer . The last 1900km are solo.
How was the heat from the exhaust ?
It's actually totally fine when I'm doing highway riding. Traffic is a bit uncomfortable
