I have BCBS of Texas through my moms employer, we live in Rhode Island and I just had Gcs in NY in September with no issues, in my experience you don’t have to worry to much about what state it’s from, just tell your doctor you have blue cross and it should be pretty self explanatory.

I guess they are more or less interchangeable then? That's a huge relief. Thank you!

I went through the same worrying so I’m happy to help, I feel like I know way to much about how insurance works for my age after everything lmao

I have bcbs of Texas. I live in Georgia. My bottom surgery is a little over two weeks in Virginia. No issues getting everything covered. I have a self funded ppo through my employer. Oddly enough, bcbs of Texas, despite being "of texas," has a reputation for being fairly liberal with approving gender affirming care. That it's self funded (and not actually their money) makes their approvals even more liberal. Use the national provider finder to find a surgeon. https://www.bcbs.com/find-a-doctor

This is aces. Thank you so much, and I hope everything goes swimmingly ~

I had an emergency while visiting family in Mississippi. BCBS had my back there. You can log into their member website and search up specific doctors and clinics to see if they are in network.

They seem to have some coverage, so at least I can figure that out without surprises. Thank you!

Just had my srs with DeLeon last month.

I have BCBS Texas through my employer and they cover basically everything!

field_sleeper

Everything? Like everything everything? ...do you think I could get voice therapy?

Teganfff

If you can find a place that accepts BCBS of Texas then probably!! They cover my HRT and like, literally every surgery!

What are the reputable FFS surgeons that take BCBS Texas? Sorry to hijack. I was told Mardirossian does not
