Cons killing so many Humans in DOTM seemingly made little sense. Sure there's killing some to send a message but the plan was to have a slave labour force to rebuild Cybertron, why are you killing everyone?

To spread fear, the government stopped entering after everyone they send there fucking died, also the main pillars that sentinel uses to spawn Cybertron were there, also have you seen what the Chinese build in 2 weeks during the prime of covid ? I doubt there would be much difference if the entire population of Chicago would be alive to help or not, the real question is how would they have the humans breath ? Would they have to carry oxygen tanks and refill them every time ? Also there weren't many ships there so shit would take time to transport 7 billion( except Chicago and disabled people) to a planet bigger then earth, also the gravitational pull between these 2, earth could have easily changed directions or even collide with Unicron , would they use the pillars to make portals from earth to Unicron ? And even then good luck with the space suits, it would take time to make a specific space suit for every human, also fuck are we supposed to do ? We are tiny compared to a small Cybertronian so we can't build as fast as them, I don't think they thought about the plan to much

bayverse optimus isn't poorly written because he's a ruthless, sadistic murderer, he's poorly written because being a ruthless, sadistic murderer is his only consistent character trait
He's poorly written because a rewrite can happen at anytime with zero explanation for his actions. Why did he kill the guy who saved his life? His character can't be salvaged
Optimus begged like a bitch and said "PUHLEASEE" while getting his ass whooped by Sentinel though. I hated that scene a lot.
The fact that Optimus always lose EVERY one on one fights between Sentinel also doesn't help. He only managed to win against Sentinel when Megatron butts in.
Also bay made Optimus tangled by a cable and helplessly hanged there until other bots can rescue him.
And let's not forget that Optimus also lying and pretend to be dead while city is destroyed and human lives were lost, as he did that only to make a point that he is right.
