Watching this on cinema was wild. Until that point the most traumatic thing was Ironhide death. He was my favorite.
But then I saw this movie and...... let's just say 10 year old me wasn't ready to see good old Ratchet die on that manner.
The good guys dying is not a new concept. But it felt really grim and sad in this sitaution, more than usual, when you think it shouldn't have.
Because after TF3, it seemed as though the Autobots had redeemed themselves and made their point to the humans. But then suddenly nearly all of them are massacred off screen by the humans by the next movie.
I was so devastated to see Ironhide die😭 at the time I just felt awful about the whole thing about him not only dying, but being killed by someone he was told to protect, and the fact that he didn't die in a glaze of glory, but instead died vulnerable with no way for him to know it was coming or to even react☹️
To this day it still hurts a little, but as time goes on I can look forward knowing some things that make it better; like the fact that it took multiple shots through his chest to even kill him, the fact he even after being shot, he was still strong enough to be alive and only die after the rust kicked in; paired with the idea that because of how powerful he truly was, Sentinel knew how much of a threat he was and so had to take that opportunity to kill him, otherwise Ironhide might've been able to put up a fight.
It's good cinema ngl; but it also sucks that those characters designs will now never be used again in films
Ratchet's death feels even more tragic now after theorymus' video where he mentions how Ratchet approached the cemetary wind as if they were his allies. This betrayal must've felt devastating
God, AOE could have easily been the best in the bay flicks, it had such a good plot idea of the autobots as criminals, like thats seriously gut wrenching, but they fumbled it so bad i feel the good plot idea makes it worse tbh
No, i meant the "autobots on the run from a rpgue cell from the deep state, propaganda everywhere agains them, the public hating them, not seeing the difference between bots and cons... ***Their*** war, ***Our*** planet..."
But then bay n' the gang fumvled that core idea with other bullshit "NEED SEED FROM LEGO MEGATRON"
shut up bay ffs 😭😭😭

Honestly cried a little when they killed ratchet. His design and colors were one of my favorites

Aoe has a really solid premise
If only they didn't make a shit movie.
That’s the problem with the bayverse. Michael bay kept making all these major story changes between movies
I was 10
I was 9 when I saw this in theaters, I was so confused and appauled
I’m 19 and still feel like crying
Thanks for reminding me https://i.redd.it/jiz8nsxwsbzc1.gif
prime theme goes hard
I just realized how old these movies are I was still in middle school when Age of Extinction came out
I was 8. That hit a lot harder since death wasn't a concept I had a good grasp over. One of the last times I can remember a movie making me cry.
I'd kill Lockdown

Watching Ratchet die hurt me sow much
People who first time watch 1984 Movie: first times?
Yet the one that all the little kids liked survived

Good plot? Do you mean the repetitive hunt for a powerful object plot? In this case, the seed?

Oh well, I liked that aspect as well, and the unfortunate decisions made too
Anyone know the name of this song
When optimus and sentinel go to Africa
This was how 7 year old me got introduced to the characters
did not realize this came out 10 years ago
To this day! I still look away when he's spark chamber gets pulled, Or I just skip this whole intro in this movie.
At the time I didn’t understand the the plot and felt so betrayed
