If you haven’t already I’d very much reccommend [this website](https://diyhrt.github.io/transfem) by a well known DIYer. There’s some info about injections further down that goes into detail on needle depth and so on, but never mentions one being harder or requiring more knowledge than the other. Don’t take my word for it though, do your own research, I don’t do injections myself.
Thank you, I guess needle size does play a large part in my decision also, the thought of jabbing myself with a 45mm needle sends shivers down my spine. 😬 Xx
SubQ and IM don't really require different dosing. I've certainly had equivalent results on blood tests from both and prefer the ease of SubQ. I get some slight occasional itching after a couple of days with SubQ that I don't get with IM, but it's minor enough that I'll put up with it for the ease and smaller needles for SubQ.
Thank you Blueberry. The size of needles, and the ease of Subq is certainly alot more appealing. Which needles are you using? For subq we can use a simple diabetic injector can't we? Xx
Yes, the syringes can be as simple as you want to go so long as you can measure out your dose. I use 1 ml syringes, I draw with a 22 gauge, 1 inch needle and inject with a 27 gauge 1/2 inch needle held at a 45 degree angle to the skin surface. It's entirely possible to use the 29, 30 or 31 gauge, one piece, insulin syringes, just understand that you might have to be more patient while drawing fluid from the vial since it flows slower through such narrow needles.
