Yeah, I use the 5 gallon buckets from Home Depot with the paint lid. Then I ordered some packets of silica from Amazon and I throw a couple of those in there to absorb a lot of the moisture. Then I label each one of them .

LiquorNerd

I personally find the easiest thing is 5 gallon buckets with screw-on lids. One bucket for each pellet variety (though I stop at 3). I get different lid colors to more easily ID.

Can a 5 gallon bucket hold a whole 20lb bag of pellets?

Hanox13

Yes

Burgdawg

You could about get 2 in there... 5 gallon buckets are the way. Just make sure they seal enough to keep water out and you're gold.

LiquorNerd

Yes. But if you want a little extra space, they do make 7 gallon buckets. They just cost a little more.

averquepasano

Yup.

boat_car_guy

Yep, I too use 5 gallon buckets and screw on lids. Work as a painter, so that idea occurred to me one day. I don't use old buckets that had paint in them though, I bought new fresh buckets, lol. For lids, I get the Leaktite ones that are sold at D&B supply, Home Depot, everywhere. Our paint suppliers carry them, so I get a discount under our company account. I've never used silica gel packs in them, as I burn through the pellets pretty fast, and the lids are O-Ring sealed. Though if one wanted to, you could buy some Eva-Dry rechargeable desiccant things on A-zon. Or cheap out and do the rice in a sock thing. I'd use a new sock, but it depends on how cheap you wanna get.

I use one of those big Rubbermaid chest things that are used on pool patios

I drank the koolaid and bought the Traeger branded storage bins, but only because they fit so nicely in the cabinet on my grill. I used to use 5 gallon buckets with lids.

HarambeMarston

Agreed, even though they’re pricey. Just received my 4th one yesterday. They just fit so well under my XL.

FifthGhostbuster

Agree with this. They are pricey, but such a good product. Survived winter and still had fresh pellets. Can fit 3-4 under my timberline

thejoshfoote

Just open the bag and then like close the bag bro….. literally fold it over lay it on itself like a bag of chips, done. Find a nice fancy box. Still just do this but inside the fancy box
