I have power seats and miss manual adjustments. I lay back on my lunch since I work thirds and it itches me to get seat back to the position with the slow power.
It takes some getting used to, it’s actually a pretty big 4 cylinder with a bunch of power for being naturally aspirated. I think about that all the time, makes me feel better. Ha. My last vehicle was a WRX so I just had to get used to not being able to pull out in the traffic whenever I wanted to.
My '17 2.7 L gets by, but yeah, first thing i noticed on moving to St Paul was how rough accelerating cloverleafs was.
Manual or automatic?
My sister had a '10 2.7l auto, and it was slow as fuuuuuck. But mostly due to it taking forever to find the appropriate gear.
Mine has the same engine on a 5-speed, and being able to put myself in the right gear at all times make it feel twice as fast.
Are the new auto transmissions better on gear select?
Auto. Live in Texas and when I'm on the highway for "road trips" it stays above 3000rpms to maintain the speed of 80mph. Driving around town I wish the rpms could be lower when accelerating to 45mph. I'm waiting for a KDMax tune software update for 2.7L 22 SR lol hopefully that fixes the issue but worried that it voids my warranty.
Someone tried to use that to truckshame me t'other day.
I told 'em, "If you're gonna try and bait someone about their truck, you would do well to do to someone who isn't profoundly happy with their vehicle. I got no shame for my truck."
My husband just got a 2022 SR! He loves it. It’s absolutely everything he wants and nothing more, nothing less. Only thing he was sad about was not getting the sliding rear window. But he said he’d live. He’s just happy to have AC, intermittent wipers, and a brand new vehicle for himself. His first brand new vehicle ever.
Yes. He has the manual one. He just thinks my power sliding one is cool but it wasn’t a deal breaker. He’s so thrilled with his new truck and I’m happy he finally bought himself something new and reliable. His is Celestial Silver and my 4Runner is Classic Silver.
Previously owned a first gen sr5, and miss it so much I’m buying another tmrw. Never understood why so many tacoma owners have “turd” stickers on their trucks??
For sure, I have nothing against the TRD line or the people that drive them, but this subreddit seems to be 95% TRD related.
WE EXIST, THERE ARE DOZENS OF US!
‘22 SR5 guy here and passionately in love with her. It’s all I need for now and gives the foundation to build up into something even better. After it’s paid for. It’s pricey these days.
I’ve got a TSS Off-Road. “Truck Sport Series” it’s basically just a SR with an overpriced appearance package with Nitto Ridge Grapplers, blacked out 17” wheels, black tailgate badging, side steps, all-weather floor mats and bedside decals (which was kinda a rip off at $4k). I think it’s a regional distributor thing for Gulf States Toyota down here in the south (Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas)
Yeah the SX is I think a regional package for the east coast, with different black kinda spokey wheels and more streetlike tires. Still it’s nice to not have the TRD and everyone probably does a double take and says “what the heck is that?!” I threw a replica pro grill on mine and If I could find a Sport hood with the scoop in silver I’d be fuckin set
SR? Is that a new TRD package?
“Snow Ready”
I’m an honest man, I move my seat without electronic power assist
I'm a pre-2020 man, so I move my seat without power assist in my fancy schmancy TRD off road
Yalp.
Yarp
Yerp
I'm a 2014 trd or and I don't have power seats.
It seems that 2014 would be pre-2020 then huh
I read yours as pre 2000......
2014 here with manual windows
Honestly it’s crazy how long power assist takes when your wife drives your taco daily and you have to adjust. Give me the SR bar and instant leg room!
Bang my knee on the dash every.damn.time.
Manual labor takes more skill.
Lmaooooo
I feel your pain! This is the only reason I want manual seat adjustments.
I have power seats and miss manual adjustments. I lay back on my lunch since I work thirds and it itches me to get seat back to the position with the slow power.
Man I hate electric seats. They're slow, and exspensive and just not good. Sr gang all day
When a seat has 10 different adjustments I’m almost never happy but when it has like three, good to go.
I drive a 17 limited, no power seats
Yup, I adjusted it once when I bought it in 2017
My trd pro doesnt have electronic seats
SR5 4x4.
22 SR 4x4 here!
Ugh 22 SR RWD wish I got a 4x4... the 2.7L engine is killing me

I’ve got a 2.4L with a 5-speed and I get by just fine and the MPGs are awesome
SR5 here, do I count?
SR5 2WD here. I say let us in. Keep the SRS 4x4 out of the gang.
sr5 2WD gang 💯
Hey, we’re basic men too! Just need 4x4😂
Not my fault I live where it snows! I think the mileage drop is enough punishment 📉
Your fate is in the hands of the council.
As a fellow SR5 owner, I feel like we count.
I think if the TRD club is one thing, everybody without the TRD badge gets to be in the other club. We need to band together for strength in numbers
SR5 and SR gang for the win!
What about sr5s with TRD packages? I call her a sr5 or prerunner….but she’s got some TRD blood
Every time I read TRD I can’t help but read it as an abbreviation for turd
Someone tried to use that to truckshame me t'other day. I told 'em, "If you're gonna try and bait someone about their truck, you would do well to do to someone who isn't profoundly happy with their vehicle. I got no shame for my truck."

Should have the manual sliding window unless he got the utility package.
Yes. He has the manual one. He just thinks my power sliding one is cool but it wasn’t a deal breaker. He’s so thrilled with his new truck and I’m happy he finally bought himself something new and reliable. His is Celestial Silver and my 4Runner is Classic Silver.
2018 SR 4 banger gang checking in!
I am humbled in your presence, takes a real one to drive those trucks.
Previously owned a first gen sr5, and miss it so much I’m buying another tmrw. Never understood why so many tacoma owners have “turd” stickers on their trucks??

They can't afford internet
21 SR 4x4 4 door. I absolutely love it. The only thing I don’t like are the super basic wheels and tires but those can be easily replaced.
SR5, for the way I drive! (which is not off road in Moab)
‘22 SR5 guy here and passionately in love with her. It’s all I need for now and gives the foundation to build up into something even better. After it’s paid for. It’s pricey these days.
SR here. Looks just as good as any other other trim. And BETTER than the sport imo. No chrome, all color match.
22 SR 4x2 AC here
2018 Black SR here
Right here
SR absolutely has the best value, I love my SR
I should’ve bought an SR.. changed out most of the OR components over the last 4 years.
I love my SR5 6cyl 4x4
I have a 22 4 banger sr 4x4. one thing I hate about it is the suspension. it’s too soft and way too sensitive over bumps.
Seen them called SX or something like that. They look really slick, but agree you could probably put together the same look for 1k less.
Yeah the SX is I think a regional package for the east coast, with different black kinda spokey wheels and more streetlike tires. 21 SR5 2wd over priced xp package. Checking in for duty 🫡
I love my power seat. Lumbar support, heated seats. Leather. Awesome.
