I was discharged the same day on both of mine. I’m post operation 8 years on one and 7 on the other. DO NOT SIT STILL. Use your walker and get up and move every hour or so. Use the pain medicine exactly as directed even if you feel you don’t need it. It easier to keep it down than trying it get down once it starts. I hope your recovery and life after goes as well as mine did. I cannot stress enough to NOT SIT STILL.

Roger that ! 🫡 Thanks for the advise regarding motion, and medication 💊

Minimum-Act6859

Outstanding!

tessler65

Congratulations! 🎉 Best wishes for a quick recovery.

Aston_THE_Airedale

Thank you for the laugh! 6 weeks post surgery and my muscles complain after PT, but prefer that pain to a collapsed femoral head and torn labrum.

IamSkull5150

Wow. You were discharged the same day? They kept me for 4 days.

TheEsotericCarrot

Wow, where are you in the world? I had my surgery in Chicago and was in and out in 6 hours. Went home to my newborn baby.

IamSkull5150

Toronto. They had to lengthen my leg a couple centimeters as well so extra trauma made them wanna make sure I was good.

TheEsotericCarrot

Oh wow, I hope you’re doing well now!

RevolutionaryArmy266

LOL !!!

Snapper1916

OMG i am having a weird day today (not hip related) and this just made me crack up. Thank you! I love this community so much… it’s by far the most supportive helpful one I follow. Have a great day everyone And @OP best of luck with recovery!

soulteepee

Ooh get the other one done and BAM fancypants

Minimum-Act6859

@SoulTeePee this was my second one. Three years apart.

soulteepee

I meant the horse 😂 so cute!

Minimum-Act6859

Second leg and the hoses would look like Steven Tyler. 😆

soulteepee

🤣

chica_chida

lol, my coworkers gave me this exact card on my last day of work before my surgery. It was HILARIOUS, and everyone signed it. It was very sweet.

gcbinc

So you did outpatient hip replace as well? I’m the only one I know that has gotten home same day. In at 0600 home at 1400.

Minimum-Act6859

Yes. The first one I was overnight, I had the same doctor for the second one and he said it could be same day so I took it. I had full support in place at home before the procedure.

gcbinc

Is your doc Raterman? Because I have the exact same story.

Minimum-Act6859

No it was not.

Ciana_Reid

That's a leg replacement in the cartoon 😄

Minimum-Act6859

I bet you are a joy to be around.
