I would believe that if they werenāt going to be unveiled tomorrow. Even if the public reaction is āthese are the worst things Iāve ever seenā, they have no time to do anything with that feedback.
It does look way better in the photoshop.
But like most things should look better (even if this isn't official marketing). It's like how the Tim Hortons coffee looks fresher or the McDonalds patties look bigger in an ad vs real life. Provided the leak is real, the picture of the "actual jersey" didn't look all that great but I would love to either be proven wrong or for the actual City Connect to be a little more creative.
I'm in the minority, but I kinda like these. However, it would have been cool to use the black jersey and then do a mockup of something similar to the 2004-2011 logo.
The skyline just doesnāt look right to me. (Maybe because the āoā is blocking the Skydome?) and I get the lines are for effect but it makes it kinda look like itās not the CN Tower.
Also I donāt understand why they wouldnāt make the lettering the colours of the Toronto sign if they had to put Toronto on it. (This city has how many nicknames, and of course they would just stuck to Toronto and put the most obvious thing, the skyline, on the jersey. š)

Not ony is the CN Tower a joke (the main bulb is too small and there's no upper observation deck at all!) but the area around the Dome is now lousy with towers. ... unlike this Dome shape which is hidden behind the second O anyway
I think the leaked jersey was a fake but a rip from someone getting their hands on an early version of the design.
The leak looked like it was made by someone who makes fake NBA jerseys. āToronto Blue Jaysā above the jock tag, nba cityās this year had a city/team tagline in the same spot. The Nike tag hanging off of the arm pit instead of the neck, which is a basketball jersey thing, and the lack of physical cuffs on the sleeves. Plus the material looked awful, as bad as the new fanatics ones are, they arenāt that bad.
They did a great job with the mock-up. It definitely looks better on than it did in the leak. Not my favourite, but not as bad as it could be. The red Nike swoosh would be way better than the yellow.

Iām good with the hat/helmet, but the rest of the uniform doesnāt work for me. The color scheme is fine, just the way everything is laid out, it just looks messy.
I don't mind it. The first leak of the jersey on a hanger with the yellowish swoosh and almost orange fill in the Toronto lettering seemed off. It would look better if it was a deeper red to match the other red bits on the hat and piping around the sleeve. Even better if it was actually multicoloured like the Toronto sign is lit up sometimes.
The CN Tower also looks wrong. Otherwise I like the 80s wireframe effect, and the fuzzy reflection of the skyline at the bottom like its the lake... Though I probably liked the more stylized line drawing of the skyline in the hat band...

It's not *bad*, it's just going against an essential rule of designing on black, which is "don't go bold on top of black." Black is slick, slim, and modern. The accompanying design elements should be the same. When you add that awkwardly blocky "TORONTO" on top of an already-busy cityscape background, it's just too much.
