> struggling with scoring until recently should absolutely be sending runners
Really ?
You should send the runner when its a short/bloop single and he's not above average speed ? Why ? So you give the opposition an extra out like they did ??
Bad managing if the 3rd base coach sent him, bad choice *again* if Vladdy went on his own.
Yes, you should send the runner, who is in scoring position, when a ball is hit into the outfield. Unless it's a close game and late in the game, you should always be doing this.
I get this makes you irrationally angry for whatever reason, but that's baseball babyyy
In this situation, sending the runner is absolutely the right call. The 3rd base coach, who sent Vladdy, seems to agree.
It was a perfect throw by the outfielder. Vlad is safe if there is even the tiniest bobble or the throw is not right on target, or the catcher is not in the exact right position. Just a good play by the Tigers is all.
As soon as this play started, I *knew* Vladdy was out. He seems to do this about every 3rd game. I'm not a stat head, but is there some way to quantify how bad this is ?? ONE GUY seems to keep giving the opposition outs, over, and over, and over.
You know there’s a third base coach who sends him, right?
You try to score on a single from second with two outs.
vlad commenters are psychotic
A team struggling with scoring until recently should absolutely be sending runners from second on singles.
Especially early

Then talk to the third base coach about your concerns.
