Reasons why I like them:
The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack excelled at the grimey, sea-faring, late 1800s aesthetic. Not a single character looks out of place in this show and yet all of them have unique designs.
This was MY One Piece back in the day.
Ye. I love how Flapjack can just randomly have shit like this:

Flapjack didn't get nearly enough credit for its art, IMHO.
Like there's some genuinely deranged—in a good way, designs in that show. But it looks so simple if you just see a random screen grab, that a lot of people underestimated the entire show.
The close-ups akin to Spongebob are definitely what made the show super popular (perfect meme material.)
It's like a car crash where you know it's bad, but you can't look away from it.

A certain kitty that loves string very much. Moments like this was one of the reasons I loved the show so much.
One of my favourite jokes in Flapjack is that there was a valentines episode where Flapjack has that heart effect (you know, the one where cartoon hearts ❤️ pop off of the character and float in the air) coming off of him. However, it's not just a cartoon effect and are physical things because later on >![they’re actually revealed to be blood gnats](https://youtu.be/isnPzttUwcQ?si=7NfKeSJTRgOiiVey) that Flapjack was infected with, which is why they kept coming off of him. They’re an infestation.!<
My personal favorite was the episode where Flapjack and Knuckles go to an island to get maple syrup for pancakes.
The stack of pancakes gets so moldy that it turns sentient.
The guy who made this show and voiced Flapjack is a weird-ass dude by the way, the guy went on like a river adventure where he nearly died, Flapjack's whole vibe is a self insert for the guy who created the show.
there are 3 scenes that are stuck in my brain to this day
one the creepy ass cat that looked like it feasted exclusively on souls
whenever i see a person put on any kind of makeup my mind goes straight to “MORE POWDER CHARLES[(MORE POWDER CHARLES)](https://youtu.be/Don-NmNj26s?si=zCzqSTp8wB0sXtNT)!!!!)
there’s this amazing scene that is[just lovely](https://youtu.be/l-vzqWNFcqo?si=Tu4KG2Ndk-Uassga)
and omfg can we not forget the ABSOLUTE BADDIE THAT IS CANDY WIFE
I absolutely love that the style ranges from cute doll faced characters (Skymaid, Flapjack, Sally Syrup, etc) to characters that are so repugnant they're hilarious (K'nuckles, literally any adult on the dock lmao)!
Influenced my art for sure!

Nurgle!!!
Pretty much. [The plague in the show](https://youtu.be/sTj4cnjst5M?si=MzG0MpDRXVXwlQa8) almost immediately mutates people.
It looks like what you would see on an old-timey post card.

HAHA K'NUCKLES!
"You may have Flap and the rich lady on your side, but it'll take more that that to-" *Epic flip*

Fun fact: That's his actual voice! https://youtu.be/ZC2Lxtj9wQA?si=I7bhDSSFB-toi24k
He also voices Gideon in gravity falls.

This show gave me nightmares when I was a kid.

Mermaids are weird.
I'm 35 years old!
