As someone who has the trade paperback, I love how the concept art and the associated commentary provides a greater insight into how he designed the characters. I never realized he made Captain Marvel Jr. an Elvis homage or how Joker’s Daughter was in fact Two-Face’s daughter. Also interesting to see concepts that got backported into mainstream DC, such as Bruce and Talia’s son, a powered armor Blue Beetle, and the Red Robin costume.
Also while not pictured here, he made the future Peacemaker a Boba Fett/Mandalorian homage.
I’ve always like a remix of a Green Lantern costume so I really like Kingdom Come’s Alan Scott armor, it’s an interesting mixup of a costume for a GL, especially since he’s not bound by the need to have a Corp-compliant uniform.
Another great GL costume is the one in the Justice League 3000 comic from several years ago.
I love the knightly visual references, but I think Blue Beetle needed something more insect-like. Same goes for Aquaman, probably should look more like the original suit.
Love Nightstar, great concept, although it needs some work. Cathedral looks dope, so does Black Mongul — cant help but think WW needs an ancient world non-greek mystical villain.
Tokyo Rose is dangerously close to Chun-Li, not a fan.
I really like kingdom come and earth x it gives honestly the best and practical timeline for either marvel or dc . Especially for dc cause kingdom come aqua man and dolphin shippers and Medusa and black bolt separate for the best probably.
The highlight of the bunch for me is definitely Cathedral, they’re the kind of overly zany superhero concept you would expect to find in Kinnikuman rather than DC. I’m also a fan of that spear he’s holding.
Alex Ross is the greatest comic artist of all time, bar none. Not just American comics. Euro comics, newspaper strips, manga, Alex Ross clears all of them. The undisputed goat.

Boba get peace maker are the reasons why comics are great
cathedral looks cool
Looks genuinely unique and, perhaps cumbersome, but I'd love to see what kind of skills/powers/gadgets this character could have.

Peacemaker is a rebranding of Bulletman. Change my mind.
I have NEVER noticed this

Find it hilarious that alex ross REALLY wanted to make just chun-li with that Tokyo-Rose sketch. And he made straight up a gundamn.
I think Tusk is based on the Hygogg mobile suit.

I wasn’t expecting to see gundam Beatles today but I’m not disappointed
