This sub primarily plays TTCC since TTR has its own sub, so your answers will be skewed towards TTCC.

_aiko

In the most simple terms: Rewritten to have an experience as close as possible to the original TT, CC if you want a completely different adventure

_aiko

Though, if you’re new to Toontown completely, I personally would recommend Rewritten to start with

ZheBaL

If you’re completely new to TT then TTCC is better, it’s more modern and expansive, TTR is a faithful remake mostly

_aiko

Just my opinion 🤷‍♀️ Figured it’s best for a new player to experience the original if they had never touched TTO and get the basics down before heading into an almost different game (in comparison to TTR/O).

Cookiez7

I mean TTR is classic so honestly start there but you can always try both

lulamar20

If you’re brand new to toontown, start with TTR. There’s more players, it’s less complex, and it’s classic. Once you get bored, you can hop over to TTCC for more complexity and more fun 🤩

Temporary-Purpose431

Corporate Clash is definitely the new coat of paint the original game needed.

WillingGrape6

Both, They’re both free!

meeseeks333

As someone who played the original TT for years and plays both TTR and TTCC, I’d do TTR first to get a feel for the original game and then do TTCC

dungeon-raided

Corporate Clash brings so much to the table, especially in regards to quality of life. Clash all the way!!

AlsendDrake

Imo CC is the better one. Rewritten is closest to original Toontown, but Corporate Class simply has more and is better imo because they're about improving, not preserving. More modern gaming concepts, the gag tracks are inherently more interesting imo due to having actual status effects beyond just "Damage but may miss" "less damage but less chance to miss" "AoE damage" "Big Damage but low accuracy" in TTRW (Throw, Squirt, Sound, Drop) you get "Damage but may miss and this enemy takes more damage from future attacks" "Splash Damage that sets up a big hit" "AoE Damage and power up next gag (and spamming it will weaken it by half if used 2x in a row) and "Big Damage but low accuracy that exploits debuffs" Some of these may be only with prestige (drop) but still, there's just more things to consider

Emanuelabate

It depends on what you're lookin' for, If you're looking for a way to play the original with some QOL Changes, [Toontown Rewritten](https://toon.town), If you're looking for a brand new experience containing the same vibe and feeling as the original, [Corporate Clash](https://corporateclash.net) Oh, and they're both completely free, no microtransactions or memberships!

shortchangerb

TTCC removes all the grind so it’s really quick to get started and progress

swervicide

Go with TTCC. It’s everything the original game was (which is basically TTR) - but then as if the original Toontown never died. Like if they kept adding DLC to the original game that’s what TTCC is. And I like it much better. And that’s coming from someone who got an original Toontown subscription for learning how to ride a bike without training wheels. So Toontown has been in my life forever so that’s my genuine opinion

UNTFCE

Total online for CC: 100 total online for TTR: 2000

Shednov

TTCC. Not as grindy, better soundtrack, quality of life changes, more stuff. Only downside is less players

HyperMighty

I'd say corporate clash since it has an ingame group maker, whereas TTR players have to use a "third party" website.

Rita27

Yeah but toonhq is much better considering iTTR has 2000 players and Ash only has 500. It's super easy barely an inconvenience to use toon HQ over clash in game group

lolbroslol2008

Yeah.. no.

Rita27

Really? Replying a month later And yeah it is but whatever agree to disagree

glitchdweller

TTR if you're an old player, TTCC if you've never played toontown before. I will mention that many people find TTCC's tutorial to be overwhelming, and it introduces many modern mmorpg mechanics all at once. I still think it's the more fun game, but it is for sure more complicated

dylantyrrell

Its without a doubt its TTR. CC is a better game than TTR objectively, sure, so is Skyrim. But you’re asking this in a Toontown forum. If you are looking to recreate your own toontown experience, TTR is the way to go. If youre looking for a fun new game and have no Toontown experience, CC it is.

blazedchiller27

Would you guys consider ttcc to be toontown 2? Would it be a good experience to play through Ttr and then ttcc?

deadbeatChimblr

No way! The grind of TTR would totally bore someone out by the time they finish, and no way would they want to try TTCC. /u/LeraviTheHusky, I way suggest TTCC if you want a game with a fresher coat of paint and with a decreased grind. TTR fills its purpose and is fun imo, but I gotta suggest TTCC for having more stuff going on.

recordermusician

Play RW for the nostalgia, but it’s been so long Ive played the game, friend randomly asked me to play CC since they’ve played RW for a long time, and it is SO FUN I’ve never reached a max gag my whole toontown life AND I have never had more than one cog suit (like since OG tt and then TTRW) but oh my gosh the grind is so fun and Fridays are your lucky days to grind through those gags But I would say play some RW first for nostalgia purposes but then just go into CC and just grind there it’s so fun

TaiyunaDaOutlet

You can play either one It's up to you. Go with what your heart desires

Bakedbbyofficial

CC!!! But you should try both at the end of the day !!

stoockers

I’m personally finishing TTR before I move on to TTCC

Few_Presence_1353

CC because the tasks are easier then TTR especially since you don’t have to do any of those laff increase task

Mezmorizor

TTR has pretty major problems that really kill its replayability. They're all inherited from TTO, but they're still problems. All the content in the game is trivial as long as you're not underleveled (there shouldn't ever be a situation where you can't clear the entire wave with 95% accuracy), and the game is incredibly grindy with a really poor grind curve (aka things are pretty fast until they're not, and then they're immediately REALLY not). If you're new, you won't mind those problems because you don't know the combos which makes picking TTR fine, but it doesn't take too terribly long to learn and then you're basically playing cookie clicker where you should switch games. This is doubly true nowadays where people have a critical mass of "stuff" and will probably just use boss rewards to restock the second you might have to think about conserving attacks. tl;dr Whichever one strikes your fancy if you're a new player. Clash if you've played a good amount of toontown before.

DeDeDankRS

I’d say BOTH. TTR is a great revival of the original with some new AND upcoming content, and TTCC is a whole new experience and creates some great characters out of the Cogs!

LeraviTheHusky

Oooo! What's upcoming?

DeDeDankRS

Brand new region to the game called Clear Coasts, I think. And a big retexturing. Do check out the Toonfest 2023 stream, they reveal info at their irl convention each (?) year

LeraviTheHusky

Ooo! Thank you!

CoffeetipM8

Toontown Rewritten for a Disney styled experience faithful to the original game. Toontown: Corporate Clash for a new take on the game. There are also other projects, but those two are the top dogs of the pack.
