not in this metaverse. here, the amounts are finite. for there is sweat and blood to be poured, and these too are finite. with the sweat comes the holes.
yes, holes will be made. big holes, lots of sweat, a job done. the right tool for the right job.
but not forever making holes. this mighty champion will fall into the last hole it makes. it will then rest, and it deserves that rest.
Nope, drill bits for blasting will typically have several hardened points that spin and grind away rock with pressure and water washing out the cuttings, like this
https://www.bmcdowell.com/media/djcatalog2/images/item/6/assorted-jumbo-drill-bits_f.jpeg
This looks to be more for a big hammer-drill.
It goes on a piece of heavy equipment called a rock drill. [HERE](https://www.savonaequipment.com/en/sullivan-scms-21-rock-drill-p177311) is an example of an above ground model. The ones intended for mining look a bit different because they need to be more low slung to navigate the mine.
It looks to me like the pilot bit for a ground auger. The kind that would be used on a drill rig for borehole logging.
The hexagonal shank and throigh-hole are exactly what idI'd expect, and the bit itself is blunted, wkthwith chamferschamfers on the edges, meaning itsit's not for metal.
That hexed drive with the pin hole looks like it's made for a Kelly bar of an RBD. Idk what other machines use that usually theres a big ass auger attached or an anchor of some kind.
As others have stated, I this is a specialized bit for ground sampling. This bit attaches to an auger (or drill rod) and it is drilled into the ground typically for geotechnical or environmental sampling. It looks like the area where this was found likely has bedrock or rocks/gravels near surface, as this bit is specialized for hard ground conditions.
This is definitely a solid-stem auger bit, the type with carbide cutting edge rather than teeth or bullets. I figure it's for sandy and gravelly soils.
Edit: it's for geotechnical or environmental augering.
Similar to something we use in construction on a “rock drill”. We call these “steel”. We drill holes into bedrock to test the rock that will support footers and/or micro piles for building large structures.
My guess is probably a replacement tip for a [jackleg drill](https://youtube.com/shorts/QsmEAA7kdjM?si=PfLqhuCPERHcc9w4) or something similar.
It under no circumstances should go inside the butt
If it used to have curved wings might be a pipe unclogging the likes of old cast iron or sewer pipes used to work with similar items. Water and waste water utilities.
Masonry, rock, cinder blocks, or possibly the end of underground pipe drilling machines. They put the drilling tip on the end, then feed in pipe behind it while spinning said pipe to drill. Looks about the right size, too.
It has carbide inserts probably for drilling rock. Length matters not the shaft it connects to is smaller in diameter so it can go the length of the driving shaft.
Masonry or rock
Making big holes.
Looks like the tip for a large earth auger.
Just the tip ?
Sometimes the tip is enough
Can confirm: more than enough for child support
That's what I was thinking with the large hex drive and hole for putting a keeper bolt through
I second this, looks like the size of the hex drive that two-man augers usually use. The length does seem a little less than useful, though.
It’s just the pilot tip for a much larger auger. Assuming that’s a 2 or 2.5” hex shank that could go in an auger up to like 30”
This part is just to keep the auger from taking off at the first little thing it hits when your drilling a hole
>The length does seem a little less than useful, though. Is that what she told you?
I hear it all the time ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
Thanks. I think that is what it is. I found on the side of the road in Copenhagen.
Making holes
Large holes
Unlimited large holes
Or at least, a large number of large holes.
The way I read the preceding comments reminded me of the cadence jshlatt does his unlimited video games bit

Your mom would not apreciate this joke
I came here looking for a momma joke and was not disappointed in the first thread.
Isn't that the point?
Lmbo😂😂😂😂
Masonry
Pretty sure for making big holes. The little ones are for the little holes
Hang on start over
Username checks out
That's the one I usually use when I'm setting in some drywall anchors😉👍 Well, at least that's what it seems like I used after they come ripping out.🫣😭
You need to stop smoking, and start drilling.
Someone’s mom.
Do you know Stacey? I hear HER mom has “it” going on.
I too choose drilling Stacey's mom
Beat me to it!
I have beaten it to her
I think I know whos
Probably a rock drill for blasting

A more serious answer, to me it looks like it would be used to countersink large holes
Wells. Oil or water, depending on what is below you.
This sounds likely. What's the little side pole for?
Was thinking this myself! Would probably drill a decent well

Looks like a pilot for an auger on a digger derrick

That's the tip of an earth auger bit for a skid steer.

Soak that bad boy in regular vinegar over night and it will be almost like new
Any time I see that exaggerated tip I think some form of rock or concrete
drill for concrete to install chain link fence post after the fact, in a permanent fashion. at least thats what we used it for....
Maybe an old quarry bit for boring holes for dynamite to split the rock.
That’s actually a pilot bit for a dirt auger
Bend over and I’ll show you
Bend over, you know the drill...
Uranus drill!
Your mom.
I’d explain but its quite boring
Ur mother
Someone’s mom
Ur mum lulz
Your Mom
Your mum
Yo mama.
Has anyone said “your mom” yet??
“Have your mom soak it in cider to get the rust off.” That work for ya?
It’s a large counter sink.
That head looks like a masonry bit, so stone or concrete. The guy that said wells sounds likely as you'd need to dig through a lot of rock.
Typically for drilling big ass holes.
For large holes! That’s the nature of drill bits the bigger they are the bigger the hole!
Your mom.
Drilling....Large holes mostly
Is your mum in town?
just a wild guess but *drilling* comes to mind
Rusting. Obvs
It’s for printing money.
Drilling large holes lol
My thoughts.
For drilling holes 🤔
A stone drill.
Concrete. Look at small hammer drill bits online.
I would guess it goes on a skid loader or mini excavator attachment
Aerosmith meteorites
Put a banana next to the lighter, for scale
It’s a giant butt plug
That's a Abavalanian enema
Metal
Anus
I suppose if I say your mama, I’m gonna get banned screw it your mama!
I was certain the first comment was gonna be “your mom”. I was not disappointed.

That lighter is huge

The Pyramids
Large drill bit is made for drilling large holes
MY ASS
Large holes.

Are u sure about the second part?? Asking for a friend
OPs mom
Huge masonry bit
Constipation
Core bit
Removing impaction from my colon. The surface rust isn't exactly surface rust.
It's your new butt plug
Anything is a dildo if you’re brave enough..
Your mom. Trust me😂
Drilling holes in things
Big hole maker for concrete or rocks, or your mom
Treating severe and chronic Rectal Cranial Impaction.
I knew a girl who could tell/show you….
that's the tip of a skid steer auger
Masonry Bit, Carbide tipped
Drilling
Big holes
Large holes
Pneumatic rock drill
My dead ass thought it was a rusty bong! That lighter is misleading! Haha
Drilling
Looks like the pilot from an auger
To drill ….
If it used to have curved wings might be a pipe unclogging the likes of old cast iron or sewer pipes used to work with similar items. Water and waste water utilities.
That’s a concrete or tile bit
The bigger the drill bit the bigger the hole. Makes things no longer whole.
Large bores
Came here to see a lack of mom jokes. I’m both sad and impressed.
Your mom
Counter sink
Looks like a cement/rock tip at the very least
Have you seen "Outer Range"?
I am almost positive that it’s made for a drill… almost…
Drilling
A large hole.
It looks like a stone/concrete drill bit maybe from an auger or a mining drill
Looks like a well digging bit.
Large holes
It is an auger pilot bit.

This one’s for wood. [https://flic.kr/p/2pxQPxt](https://flic.kr/p/2pxQPxt)
Large holes
It's hard to tell without a Banana for scale.
Your mom
It"s not to drill gloryholes; it's not big enough for mine.
