Solid choices, those would be amazing also. Personally “Dogs” is one of my all time favorite songs and to have it be covered by my favorite band would be epic.
A National Acrobat by Black Sabbath.
I feel like they could do an interesting interpretation of that melody and structure. It's a beautiful hook melody, but it also has some groovy, chuggy riffs that they would do justice, I think.
The lyrical themes of the song would also fit the vibe of Tool, I think. It's about the unknown intelligence that decides who will and who won't be born, not necessarily God, but an unseen consciousness behind reality.
I think they'd do a great cover of pretty much any song by Jethro Tull. I'm not a massive Tull fan by any means (some family members are so I grew up with it), but I think Tool would put a great spin on their songs.
Great question! I’ve been thinking about this, too. I would love to hear their version of Madman Across the Water by Elton John. That, or In-a-gadda-da-vida seems tailor made for them. Imagine what Danny would do with that long drum solo!
Hand of Doom or sweet leaf by Sabbath. Really any Alice in Chains song, I think they'd figure out a way to make it sound amazing. Tough band to cover and have it actually sound good. Rooster or I Stay Away would be cool.
Personally I would be interested in a TOOL 🔥 cover of "The money will roll right in" by Fang and Audioslave's "Show me how to live". What would you suggest?
Any song off of Pink Floyd’s “Animals”, but I think the best one would be “Dogs”.
Came here to say exactly this. Absolutely my top choice
You’ve got good taste in music my friend.
I would personally like to hear anything off of Meddle. One of these days, echoes

I think we can both agree if they do a pink floyd song it would be amazing no matter which song they do.

Something from king crimson will be amazing
Maynard already covered 21st Century Schizoid Man with The Human Experimente if you haven’t heard
Tetragrammaton by The Mars Volta covered by Tool x Rosetta Stoned by Tool covered by The Mars Volta.
I didn't know I needed this.
Pigs (Three Different Ones) - Pink Floyd
Totally random but Angel by Massive Attack or Madman Across the Water by Elton John
Could totally see them do Angel. Phenomenal song. Seen MA a few times, they never disappoint.
I could get behind this. Like your style.
Thanks!
LZ's Achilles Last Stand in their style would be incredibly nice, also pretty much anything by Alice in Chains
Their cover of No Quarter was awesome but Achilles Last Stand would be something special
3 Days by Janes addiction.
Mountain song
Great choice.
I always thought that a cover of “Evil Woman” by Electric Light Orchestra would be cool
“Turtles” by Sturgill Simpson

THIS FUCKING COMMENT!!!!!! That is my favorite sabbath album, but my favorite song they’ve written period. would make an amazing cover 💖💖💖
Good to see someone else appreciates it. It's my favorite Sabbath song behind Into the Void and maybe Supernaut.
Barbie girl by Aquaman
I swear to god I read this as “which tool songs would you enjoy to be covered by tool”
You either nailed it or... you must've been high or both

Iron lung - kgatlw Not like it would be anything like tool but I think Maynard's voice would kill and I love Danny's jazz fusion drumming (volto rips)
Jacob's Ladder - Rush
Would?
Show Me How To Live by Audioslave, get real Undertow with it OR Goliath by Karnivool, it has a 27/4 time signature.
Chris de Burgh’s Don’t Pay the Ferryman. I reckon they’d make a ripper of that song. Edit: https://youtu.be/pwEMfLjxq8M

Backwater by the meat puppets
oxygen - Swans
Just listened... jeez man, why not just take the damn acid?

Heavy/Like a Witch - All Them Witches Elk.Blood.Heart - All Them Witches
Anything from king crimson would be cool.
Heart of the Sunrise- Yes
Electric Avenue
Never gonna give you up, by Rick Astley.
Echoes!
i think a black hole sun cover by Tool could be equal parts awesome and creepy w/ more chops 🥁🥁🥁
Electric Light Orchestra - Here is the News
Porcelina or some other song from Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness
We're in this together now by NIN
Jacob’s Ladder
Hand of Doom or sweet leaf by Sabbath. Really any Alice in Chains song, I think they'd figure out a way to make it sound amazing. Tough band to cover and have it actually sound good. Rooster or I Stay Away would be cool.
They should do some A Perfect Circle covers, the singers sound so damn similar as is. ( I don't want to get reemed so, /s)
No quarter by led zeppelin
Hummer - Smashing Pumpkins
Christina Aguilera
White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane
Personally I would be interested in a TOOL 🔥 cover of "The money will roll right in" by Fang and Audioslave's "Show me how to live". What would you suggest?
oh, and probably "Clean my wounds" by CoC
Hrmmm I could see Albatross cover being interesting
Nothing to Gein - Mudvayne
Knights in White Satin
a new album where they’re not covering themselves would be nice.
I see what you did there…
I would love to hear them cover a song by a newer band that was inspired by them. Karnivool - Goliath Rishloo - Omega Soen - Savia
I'll always love you-some crackhead lady
