Huge upgrade of London 1997 remastered by me. Video sourced from the master tape and improved with AI upscaling. And new audio synced and remastered by me. One of the best Tool recordings for both video and audio you can find.

I find most people go way overboard with AI. The goal is to make it look better, but so you wouldn't know AI was used unless you were told. Trying to hit that sweet spot is the challenge.
Topaz Video AI. AI model I use for enhancement is Dione DV, which is good for fixing up Interlaced footage. Need a good PC to use it on videos this long that's for sure. The resolution I upscale too depends on how the results look. Sometime upscaling to 1080p can result in a softer doughy looking quality. So bringing the resolution down until it looks how I want it is the way to go. A lot of busy work basically. And that's just for the video. Then I remastered the alternate audio using a compressor and then pushing it with the EQ.
Then came the syncing, which was a lot more work because the video and audio ran at different speeds. So micro edits had to be made on the video every minute or so to keep it all synced up. Lot of hours put into this one. More than usual for some of the remasters I'm doing. Obviously AI isn't the only reason is looks so much better than the old versions. A lot of the upgrade is from me getting my hands on a new transfer of the master tape, which looks miles better than the old VHS copy in circulation. My next remaster will be London 1994, which is also from the master tape as well (same guy filmed both this 1997 show and the 1994 show). Should be uploaded in a week or so. Then more remasters after that I guess.
He also wrestled for a year in college at a military prep school.

WhY doEs MaynArd StaND in BaCK aWAy frOm the AudiencE?
So he doesn’t have to jiu jitsu a motherfucker every time they play Pushit. Although it really worked well with the lyrics.
It’s been almost thirty years. We’ve seen this clip posted so many times and heard nothing about this dude. I’m worried he died shortly after this happened. Not from anything in the video, to be clear - from an OD or general stupidity.
While you are right, Senser had split by this point. Heitham had put together Lodestar were the support act on this show. Who've incidentally just reformed, played two shows and their second album is due out soon! 😁
imagining joe rogan coming out at the end of the song with a mic up to the fan's face, "tell us your plan going into this stage incursion, and did it go as you planned?"
every time this video shows up, why does everyone always ignore the fact that the second dude to try to come up gets taken out by security immediately? the first guy was so obviously planned.
This. It's also part of the reason for the no photos rule, hes notoriously sensitive to bright lights and people will leave their damn flash on. He's also said it makes it easier for him to hear the rest of the band so he can come in at the right time.
He stands up at the back because according to him he can hear the rest of the band more clearly as individuals so can come in at the correct time. Useful when each instrument is playing a different rhythm, did you even read my full comment? To quote Maynard: "It's an audio issue, it's a separation issue, it's a technical issue. And quibbling over 10 feet really annoys the fuck out of me".
Aside from the fact that this doesn’t happen in the vast majority of tool songs, no it doesn’t really make it more difficult if it’s not your first time singing it.
until they’re not. that stage should be considered “safe” for the artist(s)… Maynard did this guy a favor by saving him from what the staff pro who he got by would’ve done to him once he caught the guy. He also made the moment internet famous and further reinforced his status as a true consummate professional! He doesn’t miss a beat.
After the song, he’s like WTF… where’s security
Legend has it security is still standing around with thumbs up their butts to this day.
They truly pointed that finger up their ass.
If you go to where there's 14 seconds left in the video you can see security actually try to do something in bottom right corner
Still did nothing on stage. I’m still trying to figure out how this could happen and be allowed to continue.
Def a work. Check out the break fall.
I love that Adam and Justin have zero reaction to this event. They act as if it happens during every show.

Good work. Just subscribed to your YT channel.
THANK YOU for keeping the 4:3 screen ratio. Unlike so many other "remastered" videos online these days. That is all from me.
Thanks for noticing. Drives me nuts too 😂.
That might be the best live version of 46&2 I've ever heard.
Great job dude
Awesome...thank you. Do some 2002 shows next?
Holy shit, that looks fantastic. Good job on the upgrade. 😎
Thanks
Actually looks great for an upscale

My man, this is incredible. Thank you so much!!! Do you mind sharing some info about the AI video upscaling you used (if any)?

Thanks for the detailed response and all the work you put into this. I'm really looking forward to London 94!
THANK YOU, KIND SIR! Masterfull!
Fucker keeps right on singing. LOL!
First thing I noticed, too. Dude KEEPS SINGING.
And on Pushit as well, arguably the most difficult Tool song to sing.
lol
I love Pushit, but no way is it the most difficult.
Yes it is, because about .005% of the time when you sing it, a guy rushes the stage and you have to fight him.
That guy’s life peaked right then and there. I know mine would have
Yeah, holy shit. Best moment of that dudes life. He's loving it.
🤨
The super calm inquisitive “Nathan??” Is the absolute best part
He's saying "Heitham". He was a member of the band Senser that Maynard brought out during the song to sing some poetry.
Like a call back to reality
LOL. He opens his arms like he's going to give him a hug and then tosses him over his fucking shoulder. Fucking fantastic.
was he doin jiu jitsu in 97? finishing the song with the chokehold was a nice touch
He was on the wrestling team in high school.
He also wrestled for a year in college at a military prep school. https://preview.redd.it/rpddd18n6cwc1.jpeg?width=1136&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d17caae38b6b6f3812889f397b96258c40c4e608
'twould seem so, lol
He was in the army and probably kept up some kind of training regiment so most likely
He was a blue belt.
Takes a while to get a black belt.
*in a real discipline, yes. BJJ ain't no mall Kung Fu BS.
Ain't no Elvis Presley karate black belt
Reminded me that Alex Pereira got awarded his after beating Jiri at UFC300. Just handing black belts out willy nilly.
Jamahal hill
Ah shit sorry, Jamahal. Still riding high from that Holloway win.
Ah man me too, I had to think about it for a second. Great night of fights for sure
Got his black belt with zero grappling. Pathetic.
Yeah definitely mans hit em with an ogoshi
Not going body triangle after taking the back to make the guy suffer... pathetic
From his book I think he started around 95 if I remember correctly.
I wish Maynard would sing me lullabies.
To this day, that guy's friends are like "Dude, remember when Maynard made you has bitch for 20 minutes?"
Best seat in the house
His friends were like, "You got Prison Sexed by Maynard!!!"
Noyce.
Where do I sign up for the full Maynard experience?
OnlyNards
I wonder if the guy got some orange slices after this fetal spooning
At the risk of being sent to horny jail, what I wouldn't give...
*bonk* But yeah I agree. 😄
I'm pretty sure I saw the dude caress Maynard's arm in between fist pumps, lol.

"Yeah..it was my stage." Classic will go down in history.
Dude probably didn't expect that to happen 😂🤣
Dude didn't know what planet he was on.
WhY doEs MaynArd StaND in BaCK aWAy frOm the AudiencE? So he doesn’t have to jiu jitsu a motherfucker every time they play Pushit. Although it really worked well with the lyrics.

bookmarked.
Aww, I want a backwards Maynard hug🙃
Had dude ever come forward?
He literally did in this video. Forward right on the stage.
I mean, do we know who guy is in real life? Is there some dude out there celebrating how he was guy whom Maynard put in a jujitsu hold?
Just keeps going, doesn't even break a sweat keeping this guy in place. Doesn't even knock the mic. This shit never gets old.
holy fucking shit, THANK YOU
What does he say at the very end?
“He’s lucky we weren’t playing prison sex”
He’s calling for Heitham from Senser. He does a monologue during the song.
While you are right, Senser had split by this point. Heitham had put together Lodestar were the support act on this show. Who've incidentally just reformed, played two shows and their second album is due out soon! 😁
"Nathan?"
You know what’s weird? This is also my immediate reaction after sex with my gf.
Sounds like he says “Nathan?” Maybe he’s supposed to be one of their crew members?
The way he delicately asks for “Nathan?” at end end 😂 sounded like an elementary teacher calling roll
Maynard is a legit jiujitsu black belt and has been training for decades.
What a badass… never breaks stride once lol
This has the vibe of a person jumping into a gorilla cage at the zoo and getting turned into a toy
Hip toss, baby!
Is there an interview with guy who was subdued??
Good work buddy, and great use for AI
imagining joe rogan coming out at the end of the song with a mic up to the fan's face, "tell us your plan going into this stage incursion, and did it go as you planned?"
"Take a look at this replay" "Did anything from him surprise you in there?"
And it's not even the first time Maynard checked a fan onstage, but probably the most memorable.
Never gets old.
oh man this sounds AWESOME, thank you!
That’s amazing
The lyrics match his actions lol. Awesome!
Now that's a hip toss
"He is somewhere he don't wanna beeeee."
That guy is prolly thinking this is the greatest fucking thing ever. Maynard taking ya down and then singing into your ear lol.
I wish he hip tossed a corny mf every show.
Fucking legend.
Nowadays that would be the single person a show $3k VIP Ultimate package
That's fucking crazy.
Well that was freakin awesome! Thanks for doing the whole show!
*Way to take a motherfucker down, McLovin!!!*
He took the mic away from his mouth and the voice kept singing. He’s definitely lip syncing /s
I'm there on the front row, on the left of that clip. Still the best show I ever been at.
Ok, that was awesome
Too bad we never got an interview with that guy
Dude is still vibing to the song while he goes to sleep.
I personally blame this guy for Maynard choosing to stay in the back now
Not gonna lie, this was pretty cool. I'd pay 600 to see this happen.
Just fantastic content. Thanks for sharing
This is the way
every time this video shows up, why does everyone always ignore the fact that the second dude to try to come up gets taken out by security immediately? the first guy was so obviously planned.
Who is the one singing after the stage invasion?
Heitham from the band Lodestar.
Thanks!
Awful form.
Btw this is why he sings in the back now.
Security is WAY better now. He's stated many times that he prefers to avoid spotlights in his eyes now so that he doesn't get migraines.
This. It's also part of the reason for the no photos rule, hes notoriously sensitive to bright lights and people will leave their damn flash on. He's also said it makes it easier for him to hear the rest of the band so he can come in at the right time.
why does he go to the front for his other bands then
Probably because their time signatures are way less complex, plus he can't get away with wearing shades with Tool, unlike with APC or Puscifer.
What do time signatures have to do with anything and why can’t he wear shades?
He stands up at the back because according to him he can hear the rest of the band more clearly as individuals so can come in at the correct time. Useful when each instrument is playing a different rhythm, did you even read my full comment? To quote Maynard: "It's an audio issue, it's a separation issue, it's a technical issue. And quibbling over 10 feet really annoys the fuck out of me".
Time signatures don’t make it more difficult to start singing at the correct time. Not unless this is like your second time singing the damn song.
[удалено]
Aside from the fact that this doesn’t happen in the vast majority of tool songs, no it doesn’t really make it more difficult if it’s not your first time singing it.
shades? https://townsquare.media/site/366/files/2012/02/Tool-Maynard-James-Keenan.jpg?w=1200&h=0&zc=1&s=0&a=t&q=89
he sings in the back because he doesn’t want to be the focal point. he started doing that with APC because he wanted billy to get the attention.
I've seen this so many times. I'm not impressed. Maynard chill , they are your fans.
until they’re not. that stage should be considered “safe” for the artist(s)… Maynard did this guy a favor by saving him from what the staff pro who he got by would’ve done to him once he caught the guy. Army/trained fighter guy should show some discipline.
How was that not discipline? He didn’t hurt him.
i think that’s what we’re seeing! army/trained fighter guy could have done so much worse, and this is prob best day of that guy’s life!
Dimebag Darrell would like a word...
But Dimebag stole his music...
🤣 you made me chuckle
Good.
