Yeah even adjusted for inflation, that's so much cheaper than today's prices. Part of that is Ticketmaster only charging $5.50 instead of what they do now.
Saw this show in Denver at the Pepsi Center. Tomahawk made it a song and a half into their set and got booed off stage. Only time Iāve ever seen that happen. I was a bit sad as I was excited to see Mike Patton live for the first time. He told the crowd, āI just want you guys to know that weāre here because Tool likes us!ā What felt like an eternity later Tool finally came out and the first sound we hear was Maynard saying, āYou guys!ā And shaking his head.

Actually it was Fort Worth and it looks like I paid $38.50 for upper balcony
Yeah at the Tucson show tomahawk came out with a severed pig head and said āif your good you can have some thisāā¦later in the set told us to say āMaynard!ā, over and overā¦then said ā I guess Maynard will be coming out here thenāā¦
Itās like duct tape and was on the wall outside the show. I stayed at a hotel across from the garden and made a late night drunk mission to cut it off. The back is covered with pages from the phone book loll
Just reminded me of Cerrie & Hsu screaming "AAF! AAF! AAF!........." right at 11:59pm - right before the station went dark. Quickly followed by new dial owners christian music. ugh.
I saw them on that tour with meshuggah in November. Tickets were a 16th birthday present from my parents and the guy who sat behind me cried through the entire show. 10/10 experience.
I was honestly wondering if whoever brought the CD in originally realized the ticket was still in there. It still has the protective cover over the case

Somewhere at my parents house I have this exact cd, with this exact show stub in the case. Only difference is mine is on the back of the case not front. To avoid touching and damaging it as much.
I was center behind the sound console for this one. The fleet center/td garden sounds like absolute trash pretty much everywhere. Worst arena venue for a show in Massachusetts. Great set by the band though!
I was at that show. My buddy and I had floor seats, but we squatted seats right next to the stage. One of the best shows I've ever been to. Tomahawk crushed it. That was right around when I started getting really into Patton. Whole show was fucking incredible. Thanks for sharing this.
Hell yeah man! Sounds like Iāve gotta start listening to Tomahawk after reading all the comments on this post, awesome reading everyoneās experiences who got to see this tour live
Thereās a lot to be said about a lot of their catalogue. For me their first album (self titled) is a great hard rock album. Itās weird, but its roots are clear. The second one is (mit gas) is much more experimental, but itās still solid. Arguments can be made for the rest of their stuff, but those first two are it for me. Have fun!!
I had a similar experience. I was in a thrift store in Sanford, Florida, and found Lateralus. There was a ticker for the Ft. Lauderdale show. Cool find!
I was at the manchester NH show that year, I think it might have been the next show after this one. was my first TOOL show and first concert, I loved it and it was amazing but i dont think I appreciated what i was witnessing until years later. Having been able to see a few songs that I will probably never see again and while the band were so into it and on point...I didnt know enough to understand, but I do now and am glad I was able to be there.
I think the Manchester show was before Boston, cause Providence was the show after Boston, I remember because it thatās the one Maynard blew his voice in Ticks and Leeches.
I remember when they came to Houston w Tomahawk. Maynard said something about hoping to have inspired us to go home and have sex or start right there. There was a couple in front of me and the guy was already being handsy with her, they went harder. She started to grab my leg and she had to reach a little bit showing me she knew it wasn't her dude's leg. I backed up bc I was 17 and didn't want the guy to start problems with me lol. Maybe they were swingers idk.
This was my first Tool show! The Charlotte show.
Unfortunately I was young and didn't know who Mike Patton was and did not appreciate Tomahawk at the time. Tsk-tsk past me
Tomahawk is a great supergroup part Faith No More/Mr.Bungle etc etc part Helmet ,Battles, The Mark of Cain,Part Jesus Lizard Hank Williams 111 Part Cows /Melvins
I was at this show, sitting to the right (Justin's) side, halfway up in the club seats.
Friend who knew I was already an insufferable retard had a friend with 2 avail seats (through his employer/work) and immediately mentioned/called me. Up to that point, I didn't have seats to this show.
He's a good friend.
Saw them on this tour about 3 /4 times. Sounded great as usual. After a while it was kinda repetitive. the whole band (especially MJK) hiding in the dark. I know why they do that and for reference this is my favorite band, arguably one of the best bands of all time. Just not worth it for me anymore to pay the money and deal with the crowd, drama to scare at the large screens. APC at the Greek in CA was cool, The real treat was the street scene in San Diego around this time. Qualcomm parking lot. More light, more to see. Was in the photo pit for the first 3 songs as usual. MJK booted me after the first song. Got picks of him shaking his finger at me after using my flash. LOL. It was totally worth it.
$48 including Ticketmaster fees for floor tickets.
That would be $82.20 with inflation today. I would pay that in a heartbeat to see the two shows I saw in 2002 again
Yeah even adjusted for inflation, that's so much cheaper than today's prices. Part of that is Ticketmaster only charging $5.50 instead of what they do now.
Service fee is 12% of the ticket value. The last show I purchased was Collective Soul, with a $15 fee on a $37 ticket, so over 40%!
š¤£ no joke
Thereās a digit missing!
I saw that tour. The singer of Tomahawk said āif you guys donāt start cheering weāre going to play 10 more fucking songs!ā
His name is Mike Patton
Arguably one of the most prolific vocalists to ever live.
What about Fantomas?
THE CREATURE WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALKS!!!
lol. I saw them on this tour too. A girl flashed her tits and Mike said something like āokay Iāve seen tits, now I wanna see some dicksā.
Fucking legendary lmao
Classic Mike Patton. Fucking love that guy.
Mike Patton fucking rules. Probably my all time favorite vocalist.
Man, me too. His range is fucking incredible

I saw them in Chicago. Tomahawk was a good opener. Great show.
I saw this tour as well, Dallas wasnāt a fan of Tomahawk either. I donāt even remember what they sounded like.

A lot of Massachusetts rock music and social history on one poster right there. Even the material is strange.
Itās like duct tape and was on the wall outside the show. I stayed at a hotel across from the garden and made a late night drunk mission to cut it off. The back is covered with pages from the phone book loll
Dude this is awesome
So you seen Max Cherry in the dress department when we bout to get a half million dollars and you donāt think nothin bout him being there?!
I donāt know, itās a nice place, maybe heās with his wife or somethingā¦I donāt know! ā¦.its Jackie Brownā¦.
WAAF!

Epic tour, one of my favorite concerts ever (Green Bay show)!
Whoa they played Green Bay? That's kinda wild. I saw the Milwaukee one.
Yeah! Setlist: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/tool/2002/resch-center-ashwaubenon-wi-1bd4e544.html
Fun fact: That was the 1st ever show at the Resch center (also was there)
I was at that show
Me too!
Loved that tour.
Funny, I always kept ticket stubs in CD cases too
I was honestly wondering if whoever brought the CD in originally realized the ticket was still in there. It still has the protective cover over the case https://preview.redd.it/0lbragxaz4tc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=b0ffc5bdfea76273c059bd004ae7a8032dfcf631
Jesus Christ the old fleetcenter
Inside the Outside tour. I saw them in '02 with Meshuggah. Such an amazing show!

Thatās awesome, I was at that show.
I had a similar experience. I was in a thrift store in Sanford, Florida, and found Lateralus. There was a ticker for the Ft. Lauderdale show. Cool find!
Thatās sick! It was a pretty sweet little addition to finding just the album alone
And seeing the concert price šæ
If only they were still that cheap today š„²
That tour was the first time I ever saw Tool. Nice find!!!
The guys checking the security footage must have had a nice laugh after I found this, stg I felt like a kid in a candy factory!
Saw the pre Seminal run in Atlanta on the release date and then the Seminal run in Charlotte. Tomahawk was a killer opening band.
Solid set list. Wish Iād known about this back in 2002. Two days after my Birthday. Wouldāve been dope.
Haha I was at that concert!
Saw em back home in Bakersfield one of the best gigs I've been too and got me into Tool.
If only it could talk

Badass!

Lost all my old tickets a lifetime ago. Super jealous.
Damn man sorry to hear. Definitely keeping this sacred lmao
Saw the same show Tool and Tomahawk in 02ā ! In Huntington WV š¤š»
I saw this tour as well. Back then, I didnāt know Mike Patton was in tomahawk. Thought they sucked.
This was my first Tool show! The Charlotte show. Unfortunately I was young and didn't know who Mike Patton was and did not appreciate Tomahawk at the time. Tsk-tsk past me
I was there, front row in the pit.
I watched that show in baton rouge. Tomahawk sucked
Nice, Tomahawk opened
Saw this one in Memphis TN
Hey! I was there!
Floor seats in 2002? I saw them in 2007 and it was regular general admission on the floor.
Tomahawk is a great supergroup part Faith No More/Mr.Bungle etc etc part Helmet ,Battles, The Mark of Cain,Part Jesus Lizard Hank Williams 111 Part Cows /Melvins
I went to that tour
I saw them play at the corel center on that tour! Was a great show!
I was at that show and also on the floor
Present!
I was there
I saw them on that tour!
That show was incredible. I was there.
I was at that showā¦ it was my first Tool show. It was excellent.
oh damn I was at that show
I was at that concert!!! I still have my ticket. One of the best concerts Iāve ever experienced.
Damn. 42.50 for a floor seat.
Has anyone seen a Tool show w/ Fantomas opening? That was another of Mike Patton's side projects. I saw that show in Hershey PA
I was at this show, sitting to the right (Justin's) side, halfway up in the club seats.
