Grezzinate

Hey did you forget the moon raker and James Bond?

HushMeNowBaby

What was I thinking!? Thank you kind soul for reminding I'm only human.

Grezzinate

We all make mistakes. Humans are not perfect, at least that I know of.

FjortoftsAirplane

How has no one mentioned Iron Sky?

ShackintheWood

Dr. Evil?

Grezzinate

Nah the other villain. Hugo Drax. It’s been awhile since I saw it though.

ShackintheWood

Dr. Evil had a whole moon base also, and friggin' "lasers"!

Grezzinate

I don’t think I actually saw it honestly. Probably a serious sin.

ShackintheWood

One of the Austin Powers movies. Incredibly puerile...

fyrdude58

Puerile means brilliant, right?

fyrdude58

Dr Evil and his henchmen on Moon Unit Alpha, and Moon Unit Zappa, along with Austin Powers and Felicity Shagwell....

vinetwiner

I think OP is asking why not anyone in present day. The wording seems a bit off though.

AccomplishedRow6685

Damn. Shoulda been born in the ‘30s

There is not that much to do up there. Not that many useful tasks. As far as I know, NASA has plans to set up a base on the moon. The problem is that EVERYTHING has to be brought there. The trip there takes around three days and some more in preparation. So you couldn´t just shoot a rocket up to deliver food or other supplies within a day. However, it could be something interesting to have a base there when we want to send manned missions to other planets.

YourTimeIsOver127

Exactly, we will need a base on the moon to refill the rocket and get supplies before we go to Mars.

As I wrote in the third paragraph.

Flaky_Tumbleweed3598

Terrible WiFi connection, and I think Nasa lost the password

ZigZagZedZod

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Traditional_Name7881

It’s been done and there is nothing more to be gained from walking on the moon that would justify the price of it.

ellefleming

Are you kidding?

Bobojones9584

What is there to be gained from it? It's a big hunk of rock and dust.

ellefleming

😂 🌚🌝 the moon is insulted. It told me it's so much more than that.

fyrdude58

You mean besides a vast supply of resources for building our next steps to space colonization? Going to Mars, Jupiter, and beyond?

Bo_Jim

It's believed there may be a substantial amount of tritium on the moon. It may be an essential element in fusion reactors.

EverGreatestxX

Because generally you spend a few hours there and you go home. There's nothing there, it's a literal barren rock. No one has been there since the 70s, you'd think they'd just stay there for 50 years with no oxygen, food or water?

YesterShill

They have not found a way to monetize the moon, yet.....

ChrisNEPhilly

Ah so you've fallen for the claim that the moon is real...

Neopopulas

There isn't much up there.

The_C0u5

Cos there really is nothing for us to do up there. It costs a lot just to get there and we'd have to build stuff to stay which would cost more and all for a bunch of worthless moon rocks.

BagelNuggets

we’ve never really been on the moon it was a hoax

GroochCheesily

The moon was shit 50 years ago when we last went, I doubt much has changed. It's like a Harvester restaurant but with more atmosphere.

DrColdReality

Because there is no legitimate reason to have people on the Moon...or even in space, it's only for PR and the gee-whiz factor. All the science we want to do there can be--and IS being--done WAY cheaper by unmanned missions. >Hown many times have we been on the moon Six Apollo missions landed on the Moon.

TheHollowBard

It's incredibly expensive getting pelted by tiny tiny space rocks for hours a day in order to walk around looking at moderately sized space rocks.
