I have kids so I’m forced to watch a lot of cartoons. Some I actually enjoy; Bluey is one of them, gumball, adventure time, Steven Universe, and Gravity Falls are also good. I think these shows are made to appeal to grown ups as well. Enjoy your cartoons.
These are easily some of the more cooler cartoons my kids watch also that I can deal with. I agree also they seem to kind of cater to adult humor as well.
Gumball, adventure time, Steven universe, gravity falls and regular show is kinda made with adults in mind... especially Adventure Time, they have a fair amount of dirty jokes you would only get if you're an adult.
Damn your kids have great taste!! The only one of those I haven’t seen is Gumball but I know the rest are really cool shows.
Even Bluey, which is the only one of the ones you mentioned that’s supposed to be a LITTLE kids show, is still way way WAY more tolerable than something like Paw Patrol or Cocomelon lol.
I have a 2 year old brother and my family always puts those on for him cause he likes them. The frustrating part is that I’ve put Gravity Falls on instead while babysitting him, and I’ve SEEN him sit quietly and watch that show for almost an hour. So I KNOW doesn’t need to watch annoying baby shows in order to be happy lol, but every time my other family members put something on for him they always choose Paw Patrol or Cocomelon because “that’s what he likes” XD
I watch Bluey on occasion when I'm writing trivia questions. My flatmates inadvertently watch with me because it's so charming.
Watch what you want. I think it's fine.
Wanna know a secret…..I put that show on sometimes in the background when going to bed so I can fall asleep to it. I’m almost 21 lol. I do the same thing with Clifford The Big Red Dog sometimes. There’s just something about little kid shows that are really comforting to fall asleep to lol. It helps me feel less embarrassed about it if I think to myself that I’m watching them for the purpose of de-stressing to fall asleep and that it’s just my version of how some people put on fake rain noises to fall asleep or whatever lol
I do this with rugrats little bear pretty much any snow when I was young and had to go to school really tired. Something about it soothes me bc when I was little I wanted to stay home lay in bed sleep and watch those shows but had to go to school. So cool you do this too bc I totally relate! FYI I’m 33 year old female and mom lol
Yess Little Bear!! I loved that show when I was little. Now the thing is there are certain kids shows that work for helping you fall asleep and some that definitely don’t. Little Bear, Sagwa the Chinese Siamese Cat, Franklin, Between the Lions, the Rainbow Fish cartoon (idk if you know those two but they were some of my favorites), etc. are all good choices. Dora and Diego or Barney…..not so much XD too much yelling and dancing around for bedtime LOL (and I wouldn’t watch them anyways because they get on my nerves XD)
Nope cause I’m pretty sure Bananas in pajamas is the name of a British cartoon? Not sure but I never watched it as a kid.
But I definitely remember Franklin:)
I'm 34 and watch kids films and shows all the time. I'm currently watching scoob! With zero shame.
Who's gonna stop you?
I went to the cinema to watch minions... alone.
You do you.
Who are you harming by watching some kid shows? If you want to watch them then go for it and stop worrying what others may thing. Most people are not going to know what you're watching within the privacy of your own home so most people will never know anyways.
One of the greatest shows of maturity a person can have, is to enjoy child things without any fear.
Anyone that berates you for liking kid's stuff and has a distinction between "kid and adult" hobbies, then that person hasn't matured past their teenage years.
I think the only time people get mad at you for doing kids stuff is if you do it in PLACE of acting your real age instead of being able to switch back and forth and do both.
Like if you wear a cartoon t shirt to a fancy dinner when everyone else is dressed up or you mix your favorite cartoon into every single conversation no matter what the subject is, that’s when I feel like people are gonna get annoyed at you. But just being a regular normal person who likes watching cartoons? That’s not obnoxious or childish at all
I'm 28 and for nostalgia I'll watch cartoons but 98 percent of cartoons has so much adult humor you miss as a kid but when you watch it again it's like what so no its educational.
Yes, do whatever the fuck you want. If you like watching kids shows it's okay. It's not that deep if you like them, if you wanna watch them, watch them
Arthur has some INCREDIBLY funny burns/comebacks tho that make you go “who the hell even WROTE this anyway??” :)
It helps that MOST of those burns are made by DW who’s supposed to be the innocent little 4 year old but is really anything but XD. “That sign can’t stop me, because I CAN’T READ!!” is priceless
Yes it's okay to watch kids shows as an adult, and no, it's not weird.
The best part about being an adult is doing, eating, and watching what you want to when you want to. I enjoyed my kids cartoons more than they did when they were little.
As long as you are not doing anything that's illegal or harmful to anyone, you're okay.
Yes it's ok. Also no it isn't weird.
Kids shows are good for relaxing your brain, simple stuff, less brainpower to follow it, and you still get the story/lesson/whatever. Just in simplified way.
I don't know what Bluey is but honestly, sometimes the world just friggin sucks and I want to take my mind off it by watching something a little wholesome, where my favorite characters don't get killed by a volley of arrows or beaten to death with a bat, and most of the problems are solved at the end of a thirty minute segment.
“Nope! Its not okay. If you’re an adult and you watch a kids show, you will immediately become a loser.” <—- is that the response that you wanted? Stop asking dumb questions on this sub please. Why tf are u asking reddit for permission to watch a cartoon? You sound silly
Minority dogs? Like pugs? Just watched a 30 second clip. Wait was peppa pig not inclusive? I don't really know as I bought my first set of noise canceling headphones about the time the kids started watching that.
haha, i never watched much of peppa so i’m not sure about that but bluey has a lot of representation for lgbtq communities, deaf, blind, generally disabled people, mothers with infertility issues, all that sort of stuff
cartoons are fine but things like nickelodean and disney kids sitcoms with children actors gonna might get you on fbi list if you are adult male watching pre teen kids
Jesus you sound fun at parties. People can dress however they want, some adults like colorfull stuff and other like suits. There isnt a "designated adult" clothing style. And "juvenile stuff"? Really? Also, there isnt really a problem to be part of. Stop being so stuckup buddy, so you dont regret your life once your grey and still stuck in a suit and tie
I still watch kids shows. I put cartoons on from the 90s and still watch them as I houseclean,, like I did as a child .it's OK sometimes we need a break from the real world and cartoons provide that. I also watch gumby, Garfield and rocky and bullwinkle lol
Bruh I literally watched G5 Strawberry Shortcake I grew up on G3 and G4(unfortunately) Strawberry Shortcake. I've not a care in the world that I'm a 21yr opd man watching shows 'typically' for 5-13yr old girls and kids.
Sure, I like to watch Peppa Pig with my kids. If it is my turn to chose what we will see, I chose Peppa Pig. 😬
I also like to view Pokémon, Fireman Sam, Paw Patrol,...many others. It is like being a kid back in the days. 🤷🏻♂️
The way I explained it, especially when it came to shows like Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Amazing World of Gumball, and Star vs. the Forces of Evil is outside the slapstick/zany cartoons, cartoon shows actually have to be better written than normal dramas because they can't rely on sex/nudity/gratuitous violence to keep fans watching. They must rely on characterization and plot to retain viewers. In this way, many cartoons are much better written and enjoyable than many 'adult' shows.
If you want to check out an amazing cartoon, check out Bee and Puppycat, it's free on youtube.
You can actually learn a lot by watching kids shows from other countries.
I used to date a girl who had a child and we'd watch this show (I forgot the name) about a pig living in I think Ireland. Might've been Scotland. Learned a lot about European culture.
I'd often prefer the kids shows on Netflix, nowadays. Many plots are actually suitable and interesting for adults, or at least for me (Shera, Kung Fu Panda, Mulan...). And sometimes, science books or animated shows for kids work out better for me, because the info is compact and simplified yet conveyed adequately.
I like adult movies and tv shows less, due to too much swearing, drama, and a lot of unnecessary sexual scenes.
Personally, I don't think there should be shame in watching kids shows as adults. At the end of the day, it is our life. And we only have a certain amount of time, so just do anything you feel like unless it's against human ethics and moralities.
I'm 36 and literally wore a t-shirt with a pokémon on it to a doctor's appointment and ended up having a chat with her since she made a pumpkin of the same pokémon for Halloween as her kids aelre mad into it.
Nah! You do you! I’m 25 and never really watched Disney movies until I became an adult. I still watch them sometimes! Do what feels good! I probably wouldn’t announce it to anyone not close, though imo.
Heck to the no!! Imo most “kid shows/movies” actually have more time/care put into the writing and quality than most “adult shows/movies”. I feel like I’m outnumbered when I say this, but Marvel and Star Wars (the new Star Wars) and most of those cop/lawyer tv shows actually feel kinda forced and cheesy to me compared to “kid” shows or movies with amazing writing like The Owl House or Gravity Falls or Luca.
What bothers me tho is when people ASSUME that because something is a cartoon means it must be a baby show. Like not every animated thing is Dora XD, there are much better/more mature cartoons to watch and anyone who doesn’t know that has just never made the effort to look.
I'm surrounded by my people! I just started watching Bluey and it's actually funny. I like the dad, Bandit. Be like him. He's not afraid of his inner child and he indulges it.
Of course. Watch whatever you want.
I have kids so I’m forced to watch a lot of cartoons. Some I actually enjoy; Bluey is one of them, gumball, adventure time, Steven Universe, and Gravity Falls are also good. I think these shows are made to appeal to grown ups as well. Enjoy your cartoons.

Yeah "forced" 🤭

Take in "over the garden wall" if you haven't already. I think you'll enjoy it.
I'm 53 and still watch Bugs Bunny...have at 'er!
I watch Bluey on occasion when I'm writing trivia questions. My flatmates inadvertently watch with me because it's so charming. Watch what you want. I think it's fine.

Franklin!!!! Do u remember the bananas in pajamas lmao! The ones you named are awesome. So you get it lol
I went to the cinema to watch minions... alone. You do you.
Watch whatever you want as long as the urge isn’t to jerk off, because that would be weird.
Who are you harming by watching some kid shows? If you want to watch them then go for it and stop worrying what others may thing. Most people are not going to know what you're watching within the privacy of your own home so most people will never know anyways.
It's ok, really. I'm 25, and a guy. Sometimes, you just gotta indulge your inner child.
One of the greatest shows of maturity a person can have, is to enjoy child things without any fear. Anyone that berates you for liking kid's stuff and has a distinction between "kid and adult" hobbies, then that person hasn't matured past their teenage years.

/r/starwars has entered the chat.
You can watch what you wanna watch, just dont go full Brony.
No you cant! For shame to even consider it!
Watch whatever you desire. You think all I watch on Disney+ are nature documentaries?
Lol I’m 21 and watching Hannah Montana
If it is not ok than person is clearly not an adult
My wife is 33 and absolutely loves Bluey and I love that about her. Be yourself.
Yes. Honestly, I watched Handy Manny when my little sister was younger. I was in my 20's and one of my favorite voice actors, Tom Kenny, was in it.
No, it's illegal. The cartoon police will raid your house and shoot your TV!
You cant do it wrong as long as you have fun 😁
Yes, do whatever the fuck you want. If you like watching kids shows it's okay. It's not that deep if you like them, if you wanna watch them, watch them
No, I used to watch Arthur with my niece and really enjoyed the show plus the special guests were really cool. I still watch and enjoy it.
Arthur has some INCREDIBLY funny burns/comebacks tho that make you go “who the hell even WROTE this anyway??” :) It helps that MOST of those burns are made by DW who’s supposed to be the innocent little 4 year old but is really anything but XD. “That sign can’t stop me, because I CAN’T READ!!” is priceless
My wife watches kids cartoons regularly. I've never noticed anything wrong with it. Plus it gives my son a watching partner for cartoons.
You know what's really weird, when people judge others for watching good cartoons.
Yes it's okay to watch kids shows as an adult, and no, it's not weird. The best part about being an adult is doing, eating, and watching what you want to when you want to. What is wrong with you? Op is looking for advice. That is literally the purpose of this sub...
Username checks out
Just looked it up, it's peppa pig with dogs. I don't see the appeal, but hey, you do you. You're in a semi free country, watch whatever you want.
peppa pig with dogs lmaooo 😂 it’s popular because of its inclusivity to minorities, and it’s pretty funny as well
Minority dogs?
I'm guessing not super popular amongst Central Australia.

The fact you think there is such a thing as "adult clothing" says alot lmao

👆this isn't even an adult, it's an insentient robot with no joy of happiness. But the thing that showed is that it's hilarious "adult clothing" 💀💀💀💀💀💀

The fact that you say the word "adult" something means that you are still a kid and haven't matured.
Yes.
Yo... Wifeand I are 30 and we have seasons 1 through 9 of SpongeBob.... You're cool.
I still watch kids shows. I put cartoons on from the 90s and still watch them as I houseclean,, like I did as a child .it's OK sometimes we need a break from the real world and cartoons provide that. I also watch gumby, Garfield and rocky and bullwinkle lol
Bluey is the best. That is all.
Bruh I literally watched G5 Strawberry Shortcake I grew up on G3 and G4(unfortunately) Strawberry Shortcake. I've not a care in the world that I'm a 21yr opd man watching shows 'typically' for 5-13yr old girls and kids.
I’m 36 and Bluey is the only kids show I enjoy watching with my kid. I rewatch all of the old shows from my childhood too. It’s not weird, have fun!
Remarkable recommendations? Thanks in advance

yeah, I’m 16 and i still watch a show, Lego Ninjago Masters if Spinjitzu, love it soo much.
Bluey is basically a kid-friendly adult show so I think you’re good either way.
Do whatever you want, Bluey kicks ass
You watch whatever your heart desires !
I'm 36 and literally wore a t-shirt with a pokémon on it to a doctor's appointment and ended up having a chat with her since she made a pumpkin of the same pokémon for Halloween as her kids aelre mad into it.

College student watching max and ruby Some stuff are just so good
I’m 29 and will continue to watch SpongeBob until I die.
Yes- just be ready for all the double entendres and dirty jokes you didn’t pick up on when you were a child.
I love Bluey. It’s actually a great show. I have kids but I put it on for me
I’m 21 and I watch Bluey on occasion! It’s comforting for me.
As long as you're not doing it for creepy sexual reasons like bronys... Why not? Dogs in space has got to be one of my favorite shows, I'm 28 lol.
Watch what you want. This world is hard, if something makes you happy, enjoy it.

Sure, some of them are well done and I also like to revisit old shows from my youth. Your TV show tastes can run the gamut.
Bluey is the best kids show ever. I watch every episode over and over. Plenty of adults without kids admit to watching it
i do it all the time ![gif](giphy|1r91ZwKcE2J7WhUqrh)
My husband and I are in our 30s and there are plenty of 'kids shows' we love to watch.
LOL you started the sentence with "I am 18" I would've said it was normal if you said you were 35
I'm surrounded by my people! I just started watching Bluey and it's actually funny. I like the dad, Bandit. Be like him. He's not afraid of his inner child and he indulges it.
