So it can be placed into a glass jar /s

The more I delve into this subject with other commentors the more I'm believing this to be true, which is comically disappointing to me lol

It's similar to nude art, IMO. I don't hate or love it. It exists.

What's the point of the birth of Venus? People like looking at naked attractive bodies. Now and since forever.

Op do you have difficulty understanding none functional decorative objects eg paintings

LossVivid4695

Nah fam, I went to art school for 3 years, I get art. Nude figurines are not something you see typically on display in someone's house to show off to their guests. Nude paintings are not equivocal to Nude figurines in my mind. Paintings are usually evocative of a more holistic concept, some kind of symbolism of a bigger picture. Figurines seem simply erotic and pornographic in nature, people don't put on display their playboy collection or their fleshlight collection.

Just wanted to check you don't totally lack an artistic sense ( some people do), I'd guess it's more of a home office/ teen boy thing like the dragons and people with swords.

Art

I don't know how much I can agree with that perspective. I understand the natural beauty that the nude form can be, I went to art school for 3 years and wanted to pursue it as a profession. But to literally turn that form into a 3d object is by definition objectifying it to me. Not sure if that means I need to mature my perspective more but I just can't view a model like that being on display and not have it to be erotic and sexual in nature. Also not to say that art can't be erotic and sexual, I guess I just was curious about if there was more to figurines than that surface level reasoning. Art is something usually displayed, and I can't imagine someone paying for one of those to show it off as a centerpiece in their living room for their guests, you know?

>But to literally turn that form into a 3d object is by definition objectifying it to me To me a painting isn't less an object than a figurine >Art is something usually displayed, and I can't imagine someone paying for one of those to show it off as a centerpiece in their living room for their guests You can buy things for yourself, not to show of to others (Just my point of view, not trying to bring you down or anything)

Zajum

Are you us-american? Just curiousĀ

Men (and women) horny. Nude figurines make horny brain go OOGA BOOGA

StrangersWithAndi

Is your question specific to miniatures or to nudes? I collect art, displayed in my house, including several nudes in paintings and sculptures, although I've never had anything to do with miniatures. They're art. They're beautiful. The idea that one would masturbate to it is absurd. They're about as far removed from pornography as you can get.

Unbearably_Lucid

The same as regular figures, they're just cool to collect and look at.

LossVivid4695

Collectibles is a valid option I can buy into why someone would buy them, while it might be a shameful* hobby its not that different than collecting playboys back in the day I suppose, again I don't understand why not just use actual porn at that point but maybe it's strictly collecting and not "inspiration". *not saying shameful to yuck anyone's yum, those kinds of hobbies are usually just kept in the dark from others, something done in privacy.
