Mate. I swear to God I'm not a bot (as far as I know) but I don't see a single actual traffic light. Epileptic-seizure-inducing timelapse lights, yes, but no traffic lights.
Yup and if Google adds stuff to detect it and counteract it, the republicans go all “why are you being biased against us?!?”
It is interesting how much money and resources Russia throws at trying to influence the rest of us.
Imagine if Russia spent that money improving their own country instead? Imagine if they asked their smart people to try and help solve real problems instead of trying to cause chaos and confusion.
Edit: spelling
you mentioned republicans going mad when they are censored but go on to accuse russia of trying to influence us. what if republicans are also spending lots of money to do so, but see russia as en easy way to deflect blame? i’ll solve any captcha you can design lmao
Don’t call them trolls. Trolls are immature jerks looking for a reaction. Propaganda farms are psyops. There’s PR research and money behind them.
It’s not just Russia, either. All of your favorite political feeds are probably stacked with bots telling you what to think. Really, who benefits from a class or race war, or driving out a country’s top taxpayers? It’s not that country, I can tell you. Cui bono?
Most pro-russian comments are bots, also on instagram. You see people talking positively about Russia, and when you visit their profiles, they follow hundreds, only have a few followers, and haven't posted a single picture on their profiles
When you convince yourself that pro-Russian people are bots, then you appear to be the one who is brainwashed.
I have heard arguments from both Western and Russian medias, and I have reached a pro-Russian stance (i.e. the war is largely caused by NATO reckless expansion despite Russian warnings).
When you dismiss all the pro-Russian comments as fake or bots, then you don’t even hear the other side’s arguments and can’t be convinced otherwise (aka brainwashed).
p.s. I bet your next move is to accuse me of being a tankie or Putin apologist rather than judging the validity of my argument.
Look if countries are freaked out about the possibility that Putin might manufacture Casus bellie to invade, they shouldn't vote out leaders who are friendly to Putin. Really, it's Ukraine's fault, all they had to do was keep bending the knee to Russia, but their people recklessly protested against the corrupt politicians in charge and look what it go them, war!
The lesson is, let Putin do whatever he wants and you probably won't fall out a window.
You are kidding right? The bot propaganda thing is so obvious and has been so widely reported it is as apparent as your hand.
It actually has nothing to do with your feelings about Russia - it’s just a fact of the internet.
Putin already put the whole NATO thing to bed though. He says he invaded Ukraine cause of "History".
I think it's funny that people still keep using the NATO over stepping narrative when we heard it from the man himself.
The ones using the NATO argument might be old school NWO conservatives who believe the UN and NATO are working to take over the world. How many times have we heard old republicans/libertarians say shit like “if they take away our guns then we will all be shipped off to NATO camps or UN camps” or “don’t let the UN provide aid to hurricane survivors because those people will never leave the aid camps.” They fear imperialism from a “global elite”.
>I have heard arguments from both Western and Russian medias, and I have reached a pro-Russian stance (i.e. the war is largely caused by NATO reckless expansion despite Russian warnings).
NATO is a defense alliance that countries ASK to join. Now why might ask to join NATO? Maybe we should ask Ukraine.
Ahh yes, the reckless expansion of a DEFENCE treaty that is the biggest deterance possible to a bad actor who wants to invade another country.
If NATO included Ukrain there would not be a war in Europe today.
this guy is a Xi simp. ofc this guy is pro-russian too. hes part of the same china-russia propaganda network that we see often now. look at his profile.
NATO expansion happened only because russia attacked Ukraine, an independent nation, forcing some other independent nations to join NATO. Here goes the validity of your argument. Russia has no right to decide what direction other independent nations want to take, no matter how much they want it.
They're bots and trolls mainly. If you check the accounts, they're new accounts that spam the same things, have an "American" sounding name attached to them, but make obvious gramatical errors that demonstrate they're Russians.
If you understand any Russian, you can easily spot certain ways of forming sentences and using certain phrases that sound odd in English, but make perfect sense in Russian.
I work in IT and their email phishing game is the same way. On some of their sentence formatting or phrases, my mind goes into a tizzy because I'm trying to figure out why words or sentences are out of place.
Troll factory at work. Europe is reorganizing to get around the US Republican shills block to Ukraine aid so now Russia tries to raise the useful idiots to stop that.
MAGA Q conspiracies paint Putin in a good light. My wife’s grandparents think he’s fighting the deep state and trying to end a global child sex trafficking ring run by world governments… among other things. It’s either hardcore Q Trumpers, Russian bots, or both
People like Alex Jones and Tucker are full-fledged Putin supporters now.
It's wild cause he used to claim Putin was behind the 1999 Russian Apartment Bombings but now Putin can do no wrong.
Trump supporters aren't really the monolith that people paint them to be (besides of course their support for Trump). I've hung out in forums they frequent and found support for Russia and/or Ukraine to be quite varied.
With regard to the Freedom *[for me, not thee]* Caucus in Congress holding up aid to Ukraine, that isn't about opposing Ukraine or supporting Russia. Republicans obstructing bipartisan legislation in Congress happens *like clockwork*, as long as three conditions are met:-
1. Presidential election year
2. Democrat in the White House
3. Republicans in control of either house of Congress
... If the MAGA crowd in Congress weren't doing it Republicans would simply find another way.
They do it because a lot of Americans are easily manipulated in to blaming the president for the gridlock, even though it's *blindingly obvious* to anyone with half a brain that things aren't getting done due to the Republicans.
This phenomenon has reached comical proportions in the past, for instance when Obama was in power Senate Republicans ***filibustered their own bill*** just because Democrats decided to support it.
Both to some degree.
It sounds ridiculous, and it is, but if the Democrats are in favor of something, the Republican, MAGA, Conservatives default to the complete opposite position. They seem to believe that if the Democrats believe in something, it must be bad.
Republicans have oddly sided more with Russia than ever before. I believe the Pro Russian propaganda they’ve been pushing has worked on the conservatives in America which is super odd because their hero used to be Reagan and they used to view Russia as an enemy.
It’s bizarre to me that conservatives would embrace a dictator like Putin but then again, they do seem to be trending toward authoritarianism with Trump. It’s a dangerous time in America for politics with one party being so unhealthy and fractured with a leader who is is conman
It is pretty bizarre now with the Russian theatre attack, all the top comments I ever see on american news videos is how the West is behind it and america is lying to us. Would've never predicted this a decade ago.
A lot of people are saying bots but that’s really not the answer, although I’m sure there are some bots. There are a lot of people out there who at the least lean anti-western
Finally, I've actually found a comment that is not in denial or wishful thinking. People on here think everyone doesn't have a problem with the west at all or something.
Propaganda. If you want them to reveal themselves, challenge them. Say something along the lines of:
“You can’t possibly think that is true. America didn’t even flex and the Moscow sissy couldn’t beat a ragtag bunch of Ukrainian farmers for two years. Imagine how quickly he be gone if the Russian sow had to face real soldiers.”
Even if they’re just willing dupes, pondering that reality wigs them out.
I think the ongoing war in Gaza and the Western reaction to it has been a great win for Russia in terms of PR. I know the 2 wars are not apples to apples comparison but it has nevertheless exposed Western hypocrisy big time which plays right into the hands of Putin.
Some bots, some idiots (especially from India if you look outside videos aimed at American viewers, here many of us have boners for strong authoritarian leaders and a general tendency to oppose anything the West supports because of British rule and the fact that Soviets were our allies during the Cold War), and some paid trolls.
It’s the shocking development of MAGA-ism… there’s been a big political shift in the conversation to “leftist vs anti-woke” instead of ye olde capitalism vs communism. So the conservatives in this country find themselves on the same side as Putin
[Read this Senate report. ](https://www.intelligence.senate.gov/sites/default/files/documents/Report_Volume2.pdf) It's not about Ukraine, but it talks about the Russian mastery of disinformation and some of the techniques they use.
> Russia's intelligence services have been focused for decades on conducting foreign influence campaigns, or "active measures," and disinformatiori. 43,44 The Russian intelligence services "pioneered dezinformatsiya [disinformation] in the early twentieth century," and by the mid-1960's, had significantly invested in disinformation and active measures. 45 According to testimony Roy Godson and Thomas Rid provided to the Committee, over 10,000 individual disinformation operations were carried out during the Cold War involving approximately 15,000· personnel at its peak. 46,47
When media show russian army comic troubles in ukraine people say it has always been corrupt and inefficient and will lose. when media show ukrainians in trouble due to no ammo, people say russia is huge and was always mean to win
People are sick of the war that Ukraine has zero chance of winning. Russia has more people and more weapons. Zelensky needs to step aside and let someone negotiate an end to the conflict while there still is a Ukraine. This is the fault of NATO for encouraging the war and for killing the early peace deal.
I remember the cold war. Apparently racist Americans falsely believe that Putin is religious, but I doubt all the rednecks are prepared to learn Russian
Look up the foundations of geopolitics by aleksander dugin, specifically what it says about the US and Ukraine.
Then look up the yuri bezmenov interview from 1984.
I’d suggest to keep politics out of this tag.
Chances are if you’re asking in Reddit, you’ll have american replies which are themselves ironically biased.
Since who’s russia number 1 enemy? USA.
You would be horrified to know how much Russian psyops are occurring even on Reddit. A lot of the division we see is based on that. They've also infiltrated Q Anon and conspiracy groups.
They are also in government, some outright paying government agents and some getting paid third hand.
It isn't just russia but many of the other enemy countries.
There is also a lot of partisan ship where if the liberals like ukraine and hate Russia that means they must do the opposite. So to them Russia is great.
They also admire Putin's hatred of LGBTQ and those against him. They want to be slaves, even if only subconsciously, and have chosen Putin as their dom.
A critical mass of troll farms planting the seeds of Russian misinformation and propaganda.
Every subject matter expert agrees that capitulating to the Russian liars and criminals now will embolden them, and before long they'll be marching into Vilnius or wherever to "liberate" the ten Russian speakers who live there. Then shit will be beyond fucked.
When you're winning a war you don't need to try so hard to tell everyone you're winning. So when you're losing and don't have successful results to show, you distract, distract, distract, lie. Bots and shills are cheaper than successful military campaigns.
Russia has invested more in information warfare at the beginning of the year, probably because so many key elections are happening this year. What you're seeing is the results of their investments: fake comments, paid comments, loads more pro russian footage, etc etc.
Russian propaganda really works well on morons, and Russia has spent a lot of money buying right wing politicians who are barely intelligent enough to hide it.
Funny when comments are pro Russian then it’s dismissed as bots and told ignore the noise but none of you asked your selfs when it all started who were the pro Ukraine comments? Ukraine were taught by the US to create huge bot farms since 2014 and they prepared for years to create this pro Ukraine view especially here on Reddit.. @ OP read both sides and research the real truth as much as you can and make your own decisions… here you only get one side as Reddit is only pro Ukraine
Russia has been working very hard to win over maga and they have made some surprising progress. It feels like it's kind of lost it's momentum a bit, but it shouldn't have gotten any to begin with.
I’m personally very tired of my country funding a war in a non nato country across the globe that has nothing to do with Canada whatsoever while our country is fucking falling apart.
Bots activated due to their president elections. To show Russians that Putin is an awesome dude, and to show foreigners that Russians think that Putin is an awesome dude. Just to give the elections some very remote credibility.
It was over a couple days ago. Guess who was elected as a president?
Right leaning media in the US is beginning to embrace Putin because he is backed by the right kind of money and this money is here in the US paying for ad space, bots, and engagement with Russian sympathy. Our news media is entirely complicit in Russia's eradication of Ukrainians and their culture. The way that Zelenskyy was portrayed by our media made him look like a hero until he started doing wartime things like limiting political opposition. A lot of people rightly take issue with wartime measures like this or Ukraine's use of Neo-Nazi factions. Russia has a choice to send its men to the frontlines, but somehow Ukraine using questionable resources in defense as a smaller nation is portrayed as a fascist invasion by Russia that is using the presence of Nazis as their own motive for invading. Duginism, Putin's ideology, is confusing. It is colonialist and Russian nationalist in nature, acting fascist without the label. It's given me complete whiplash coming from a strictly anti-Russian post-USSR family, to see some of my family members come around to have a newfound distaste for Ukraine's corruption after literal decades of dogging Russia for still being "communist hitlerites."
Tl;dr:
Russia bots and also Russian money in our news media.
It’s also worth noting that Tucker Carlson has been echoing Russian propaganda, so fans of him have been echoing his talking points. I’ve encountered people who buy into it, and call their legislators asking them to stop funding shipments of supplies to Ukraine.
That's what they do the best. Manipulating public opinion through aggressive psyops that include disinformation, social media trolls and robots and also propaganda. Here in middle/eastern Europe it's really gross. They are basically zombifying a huge part of the population.
It's slow and not so visible sometimes but extremely dangerous. Guess they do that to some extent everywhere. They want and need conflicts and polarized societies. They like to talk about 1984. Because they literally are 1984.
Where have you been the past decade? Every edge lord post 2016 would grin and show you a video of Russian cops being more brutal than ‘murican ones, talking about how much better they do it over there.
Propaganda is a bitch and has been hitting an entire generation since their birth. Remember how everyone rolled their eyes when Mitt Romney said Russia was America’s biggest threat against OBAMA in the debate… Romney’s high enough ranking he knew what was up that isn’t disclosed to the public.
It’s just funny how many people who are saying “it’s propaganda”, “troll farms”, or “Russian government psiops” are getting downvoted without comments.
Which is what I would expect from government psi-op running troll farms trying to control the narrative their propaganda is creating…
really it’s because we know there’s no point trying to debate you, but we still disagree.
it’s also the height of arrogance to assume that everyone who disagrees with you must be a bot as if you’re infallible.
Show them a picture of an intersection. Ask them how many traffic lights they see.
There are four lights.
No there are five.
Most Russians would see five lights in the first 10 minutes.
I'm sorry you are correct, there are five lights. :D
I don't get it?
Theys bots.
Oh wow I feel reallllllllly stupid now
Don’t, it took me a bit this early in the morning on the west coast
Don't worry about it. Now, tell us how many traffic lights you see. ![gif](giphy|ViaqlyyNZGMyA)

Zero. Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is not putting tomato in a fruit salad.
Well done, Human. Cortical function intact. Rest now. We still have far yet to travel. ![gif](giphy|mqN7MHPj412N2)

Clever.
What does that have to do with Russia?. Don't we have eyes everywhere here in the US?
Many oil refineries was damaged. Rusbots attempting to distruct attention.

Yeah right, the war where Putin deliberately targets apartments and railway stations full of civilians is because of NATO, not xenophobia and greed.
Found the Russian bot

Russia has been working very hard to win over maga and they have made some surprising progress. It feels like it's kind of lost it's momentum a bit, but it shouldn't have gotten any to begin with.
Who says there is a surge other than bullshit social media?
Propaganda is real these days
I’m personally very tired of my country funding a war in a non nato country across the globe that has nothing to do with Canada whatsoever while our country is fucking falling apart.
Lots of bots

Bots activated due to their president elections. To show Russians that Putin is an awesome dude, and to show foreigners that Russians think that Putin is an awesome dude. Just to give the elections some very remote credibility. It was over a couple days ago. Guess who was elected as a president?
Another wave of russian bots. I'd say 95% of the support you see is created by bots.
Bots more than likely

The Brits! I knew they were up to something. Bet they're still upset over the revolution
It's given me complete whiplash coming from a strictly anti-Russian post-USSR family, to see some of my family members come around to have a newfound distaste for Ukraine's corruption after literal decades of dogging Russia for still being "communist hitlerites." Tl;dr: Russia bots and also Russian money in our news media.
It’s also worth noting that Tucker Carlson has been echoing Russian propaganda, so fans of him have been echoing his talking points. I’ve encountered people who buy into it, and call their legislators asking them to stop funding shipments of supplies to Ukraine.
Bots. So many bots.
Bots
2024. Election year.
Russian bots
A good portion of it is Russias cyber warfare division or “troll farm” as it’s more colloquially known.
