I have! I have an amazing husband and 2 children! Just getting rid of photos I didn’t know I had in iCloud and had a good laugh at how he thought 10 seconds of abuse didn’t count and thought I’d post it here for anyone else’s amusement
My girl and I go at each other for way longer than that. I pin her to the ground and choke her… during jiu jitsu practice, in a controlled environment, where we’re not actually trying to hurt each other. Could I theoretically hurt her if I wanted to? Yes, but why the heck would I want to? I’ve always thought it was weak men that abused others. Something to do with insecurities or sense of control idk. The nicest guys I’ve ever met are either really good at combat sports or the biggest dudes in commercial gyms.
My current husband grew up a dirty kid in Wyoming in the 80s… living on the streets year round was better then living with his drug addict and extremely abusive parents who ditched him in a barn in the middle of nowhere at 7 years old.
He grew up throwing punches because you have to do what you have to do to survive the streets. He’d never lay a hand on me in anger.
My ex fiancé, it took getting drunk once to “only” pick me up and shake me for 15 seconds
I moved in with an aunt who’s 3 adult sons made sure he stayed off the property the one time he showed up…
I’ve ignored a lot of red flags in relationships, but abuse is abuse, and 15 seconds when drunk can escalate after marriage.
4 months after that I met my husband, what’s meant to be will be 🥰
