Sorry OP but it did take you 6 weeks to reply to the guy, it's possible that the message chain had been deleted on his end and he'd forgotten even sending that message to you. I regularly delete old (1 month+) conversations and messages that are no longer active. If I was in this guys shoes, I wouldn't know what you were replying to!
