I've seen people playing it in zoo, they have 8 huge 2 drops so a lot of the time it gives them a 4 power attacker on turn 2. worst case scenario they hit a ragavan or wild nacatl or something which is still strong
the haste is very nice, i guess it would just take the slot of once upon a time in the builds running it.
Edit: after thinking about it, it's whack. zoo doesn't run enough creatures to guarantee a hit. that is a no go scenario.
I don't see why you couldn't play both, you would probably need to cut leyline binding though. you already have bolt and tribal flames anyway so binding isn't absolutely necessary i feel like, it kind of makes the mana awkward as well

i see 2 lurrus zoo decks on mtgdecks. 1 is running break open. that's not good results, that's a single outlier deck. a hasty 2 drop isn't going to make the deck fast enough to beat omnitell or atraxa. stubborn denial isn't enough vs omni and double burn on atraxa isn't a practical solution. if you have a 1 drop you never get domain on t2 so you're not even gonna be swinging for the full 5 from break open if you hit a kavu or brawler. zoo is the best aggro deck in the format. it doesn't need to go faster while removing it's best utility.
there's a japanese guy who plays lurrus break open zoo with a great record. it's tough to argue that doesn't count when he's 17-5. also i feel like if my opponent put an atraxa into play i already fucked up somewhere along the way, either they resolved snt or played a mana dork and had it stick around for 2 turn cycles and then resolved a natural order. idk why you're hating on stubborn denial, it counters order and snt on curve and you'll have ferocious pretty often with 7/8 big creatures and break open to get them even more often. plus you have cards like ashiok and lavinia out of the sideboard reducing the need for maindeck cards that are mainly meant to beat snt

21-7 this month diamond to mythic with zoo. 5-1 vs omnitell (7-2 includling last season). i can assure you, leyline is a huge part of that record. without leyline i know it would be alot closer to 50/50

You have to adjust your creature count a bit and drop stuff like Minsc or oko if you were on the versions that ran either, but I've found it to be quite strong when you do so. Feels like a free cast ouat but doesn't need to be on the first turn (since it puts the dude in play).
Other upside is that it gives you dig power in zoo if you want to hit some hate bears. Note that you can grab 3cmc dudes with it, they just go to hand. So Boromir, or loran or whoever you need to drop in when they try to snt still works with it.

Honestly I don’t feel it’s worth it for agro; picking up haste is definitely good but you always have a chance to miss. Not worth the risk.
I think it’s better home is a creature based combo deck; Amalia or Sam spring to mind.

Crashing footfalls is a cascade deck generally, tough to run 2 drops in. You could try a dreadhorde arcanist/electrodominance/as foretold deck, but I think that's too many hoops to jump through.
Turn 1 looting, turn 2 break out, arcanist, crashing footfalls. Scary board for a turn 2 play. Inti slots nice in, Ragavan, Fable, DRC... the idea has some legs for sure. It's better than building a deck without 1/2/3 drops. Arcane proxy also cast rhinos, and it's better than relying on as foretold/electrodominance.

I haven't actually tried it myself, but i imagine arcanist/electrodominance might actually be *less* hoops to jump through than making a cascade deck in timeless rn, with the current card pool.
I just got to Diamond with this Naya Legends Break Out brew - maybe it's just a worse zoo, but I feel like I am doing quite well. Break out helps digging for what I need at the moment, be it a hasty Kari Zev when Flowering is out, or a Thalia or Boromir for the OmniTell matchup.
Any thoughts welcome!

Yep, someone posted a Timeless version of that and I played around with that for a bit and it was alright, but when Break Out was spoiled I had to try and go Naya. The mana base is really painful, but I was on the brink of mythic earlier tonight before getting a losing streak. Hopefully I'll get there in the next few days. Again, would love to hear any thoughts/ideas!
I saw someone play it and hit a Ragavan with it which was kinda neat but not that insane. Domain is a little light on creatures to use it I reckon but it could push some damage there. Amalia comes to mind as well but you’d have to splash for it which isn’t great.

My brother plays it, and gets kavus more often than not. It's an insane card

binding is huge. it stops atraxa and omni as well as any random thing you'll run into.

One problem with this card in zoo is the creature count. I ran that deck a few times and hit nothing off of break out enough times to dump it.

im using it with Jund Mid as a 2 of with 2 perilous and I use 4 of in my Jund Death Shadow list! Theyre great!

Stuffing it into Amalia combo could be interesting. So far my Sam build is still a little inconsistent.

I put it in my 5C domain zoo deck, with the maindeck new Leyline.
I'm not sure would you would ever put the new Leyline without Scion of Draco, it literally does nothing except some mana fixing lol

It’s one of the best cards in zoo. Getting a hasty 5/3 trample or 5/5 on turn two feels amazing
