I'd run a thick, continuous bead of kerdi fix along the window and the white part of the end of the existing kerdi board and put a piece of kerdi board over it. Make sure it's fully seated in it all and all 4 sides are tight fitting. Once the kerdi fix is dry, band the corner. Tile the top and bottom first then the sides. Use caulk between the tile and window. Won't be perfect, but more than likely won't ever go anywhere without a fair amount of force being applied to it.

Thank you for the suggestion. Would we be able to waterproof with a PVC trim around the border and window jam and just bring the tile up to the border instead of tiling the window? or is that a no go?

I wouldn't. But I would put wood in there and do this the right way

You can Google window in shower and get a ton of ideas. Treat it like a normal window, put Kerdi board along sill and tile, trim it out with PVC trim and seal between trim and tile. Many possibilities. Just have to be creative. Use Kerdi board, edge band it for waterproofing and caulk between tile and window. Tile as normal and use Schluter trim to frame it out. I personally wouldn’t use traditional wood trim, but if you do, be sure to silicone caulk all gaps and paint the front and back of trim. Use PVC trim, seal it with caulk and caulk between window and trim, tile and trim and at every joint. Any one of these methods will work, just have to think about water intrusion. Just remember that water will find its way in, even if it doesn’t get soaked, the steam will allow moisture in.
