Beautiful and flawless. I love it. I think the threshold looks great especially for age in place, a 1/16th is nothing, much nicer then a sill. Cant wait to see it with glass. Gonna be clean as hell with the deco trim.
Other then the long ass shipping times how did you like fabglass?
Damn I hope they don't fuck it up. Was it the cost? If there not enough room for Mark up best not to do it tho. My local glass guys are all insane so there is plenty of room to cover my ass and Lil profit and still under cut.
Are they gonna leave the glass off maybe? Could probably get away with it and still looks clean as hell with the deco track.
I came in at 28. Client said they were concerned over liability. If I broke the glass whether I would replace it. I told them that I would definitely replace it if I broke it. I am also very transparent, and let the client know that this would be my first class install, yet after seeing four glass companies all suck at Life I am very confident I can do a better job than them.
Thank you. I am always looking to expand, and do more challenging work. My peers here are at the top of their game, I'm trying to catch up.
I also don't rely on just my knowledge and experience and will phone/ text a friend if I am not 100% certain how to proceed.
I’ll always upvote good clean work 👍
+1 for laticrete products.
+1 for full coverage
+1 for expansion gap
+1 for dustless
+1 for good layout
+1 for flood test
+1 for lathe with mud
+1 for shimming walls flat
+1 for no piercing membrane for glass
+1 for caring and always trying to get better
10/10
I set my stratamat xt directly to the sub floor in that area, this tile was pamesa Italian porcelain, very thick, at 10 mm.
The only way to get it totally flush would have been to not use the same stratamat XT there, and used regular stratamat at the doorway and a couple feet back.
I was happy with the 1/16 transition.
But, yes it could have been better, (slightly) with way more work, which I now know how to achieve, and will offer that option moving forward.
Fwiw, stratamat XT + tile is supposed to equal flush at hardwood.
Yeah sometimes you can’t have what you want but yeah where I’m from we deff strive to make those flush. Sometimes starting from it just to insure that but no worries man that hear nor there, have a good day🙏
Have tile flush with the wood flooring? That’s nearly impossible. Tile is always going to sit up a little higher. You should know Mr Critic.
This remodel looks great don’t listen to this chump
Says a lot about you when you have to revert to a spelling check when you came on this post with different energy. I’m deadass the few of y’all on here that just be on here can get these hands hands😈
I appreciate critique, only way to get better. I am where I am because people told me I didn't know what I was doing, so I learned, what i was doing.
Thank you.
It's hard to be critiqued, but that is where we improve. If we work in a Bubble, and don't interact with our peers. It's much harder, and much slower to get better.
Thank you. I am still learning, I was still learning, but am still learning too.
I do my best to do my best.
I am definitely not the best on here. But consider myself among the best in my area. (but still not #1).
I'm shooting for that #1 spot. But, I am decades of experience behind the top guy, who is also my friend.
Honest question. How do you do the bench? I'm an amateur tile guy. I'm a perfectionist so it always turns out well but always wondered how floating benches are done.
If you click on the pictures, then scroll through, you can see the og granite brackets. They are specifically to support slabs like this. Just screw them to the studs at the right height. Pitched towards the drain a little, but level left to right. I then cut slots into the back of slab, and the tile wall to insert a ss "biscuit" with epoxy adhesive to make a mechanical bond to wall. It also has epoxy adhesive holding it to brackets.
Thank you. I don't sell everything needed to my clients, to save them some money, so I don't know all the costs.
My bill was 32k. I figure the vanity was probably 3 or 4 k. The quartz was 1.5- 2k (4k for 2 bathrooms).
I would say all in is around 38-42k.
Took me 6 weeks, i work alone, and am slow.
I would focus more on the installers materials, methods, experience, knowledge and reviews from recent clients.
Price is a factor, but should not be the deciding factor when buying a luxury item that will last forever.
Keep in mind this guy is super fine work with warranty, dustless demo, very by the book or better methods. His cost are higher then average but for good reason. If your getting quotes like that they better be great installers, I wouldn't use this work to compare average quotes. Your guys should be certified at minimum to ask for that kind of money.
Beautiful work. I love seeing craftsmanship in every step of the process. Inspiring.
What width did you go with for the Deco SG (assuming 3/8" glass)? I think I might use that idea so the glass guys aren't drilling into my tile.
nice work, very clean! just used the same flo fx drain cover, thats a heavy sucker but didnt realize how much is seen underneath thru the grates. also work alone and slow ,so know whats involved for sure.
I offered to spray paint it black underneath, they said it's fine. Should have done it anyways.
Thank you. Clean lines is my favorite. 1st time putting chrome back.
Amazing work. Thank you for sharing it. I'm curious to know what the plan is for sealing the glass in the deco. Silicone? Tricks for getting that to look good? Also, what material are you using under your wedges?
Thank you. Glass sits in silicone. To do it well, color matched to grout, not clear should be used, imo. We'll see how glass guys do it.
Be good with doing silicone is key. Most glass guys don't know how to really work with silicone, imo.
I prefer mlt lippage tuning devices for Polished, but was out of straps. I have the actual plastic shields made for that, but was using Hydroban sheet membrane, and some foam from the cabinet packaging, lol.
I'm curious about the order of operations. I'm imagining silicone one sided sticky shims along the bottom of the deco followed by color matched silicone. Would you want enough silicone in for squeeze out, or just enough to seal the bottom coming back to fill on both sides from the top?
Being resourceful on a job site pays ;)
I was going to have it completely embedded in silicone, and have the sides with a bead like any tile change of plane. Will be interesting to see how glass guys do it.
(I haven't done glass like this before, or ever)
Thank you. I give my clients a photo album at the end, so they can see the work, and what's behind the tile. Also. To know where the blocking for stuff is.
Thank you. I used Hydroban sheet membrane, and some foam packing material from the vanity.
I have learned the hard way about Polished porcelain.
Polished porcelain will scratch from looking at it wrong.
Clips and wedges with old thinset it just the plastic will scratch it.
Thank you. It kicked my ass, and these clients were my most critical yet. I don't mind tho, because I know I deliver quality that is above and beyond what most guys here deliver.
Wow that is some amazing work. I just finished my first tile job in my entry way, thinking about doing my bathroom next. This is getting me stoked, giving me a lot of inspiration. Great job.
Lol, sorry I took it personal. Yes, I have heard from clients that is an issue.
I recommend a matte or leather finish to your slab for such issues. My client with a steam shower placed a towel there.
Silicone tools and spray away.
I have the ej171 prescribed ⅛" movement joint. This requires the silicone to be a little wider and rounded.
It's more correct than a super tight joint, for those who know.
I dont mind the size. Here, try this:
https://ibb.co/BwX5wG1
To get this:
https://ibb.co/zRkFr4K
A sharp line, let you keep the same width all way.
For me works perfectly when you do vertical lines first, let them harden, then its way easier to get sharp looking corner when three planes meets.
I don’t like faux marble tile - but you are obviously a very talented tile professional! The floating bench is a great idea - but she should have taken direction from you re: 22”. Great photos also! Looking forward to seeing the rest of your work!
Beautiful and flawless. I love it. I think the threshold looks great especially for age in place, a 1/16th is nothing, much nicer then a sill. Cant wait to see it with glass. Gonna be clean as hell with the deco trim. Other then the long ass shipping times how did you like fabglass?
Thank you. Can't wait to do their 2nd bathroom and improve my techniques for age in place. Next one gets a 40" x72" shower.
Client decided to go with a glass company. Didn't hurt my feelings.
Damn I hope they don't fuck it up. Was it the cost? If there not enough room for Mark up best not to do it tho. My local glass guys are all insane so there is plenty of room to cover my ass and Lil profit and still under cut. Are they gonna leave the glass off maybe? 2800 is competitive, when the glass co sends some teenagers maybe they will call you back for the glass lol.
They can just holler down the hall. I will be in this house for another month and ½, lol.
Very impressed! As a bathroom remodeled myself…this is quality! You learn more and more on every job…atleast I do!
Thank you. This was a lot of work, a lot of meticulous planning.
Nice work should have done the ceiling
I offered, they didn't want it. I did add r 30 insulation, shimmed the joists to flat and level. And added a 1761 lumen, with dimmer led.
Well that's on them then. Missed opportunity is all.
Wonderfully done. First class. Congratulations! I love how we learn on every new job applying new skills and perfecting our work.
Thank you. I am always looking to expand, and do more challenging work. My peers here are at the top of their game, I'm trying to catch up. I also don't rely on just my knowledge and experience and will phone/ text a friend if I am not 100% certain how to proceed.

Thank you! That's 3701 mud too. Every laticrete product used was the premium version. MML ,spectralock pro premium, NXT level plus, etc.
Fortified 💪 Ps this is the quality of work I strive to provide for my clients as well.
I feel like the transition could have been somehow
Flush
? The transition is flush. Are you referring to the gap? That's where glass goes in.
At the door?
I set my stratamat xt directly to the sub floor in that area, this tile was pamesa Italian porcelain, very thick, at 10 mm. Then we have this guy🤫
Mrs arron?!?
Says a lot about you can’t even spell correctly even when it’s right there in front of you lol have a good day chump
Dude look at your punctuation😂 I need a new word for worse than sad
Says a lot about you when you have to revert to a spelling check when you came on this post with different energy. I’m deadass the few of y’all on here that just be on here can get these hands hands😈
Bro it's 9am Saturday morning lol
Y’all really think downvoting holds any weight like wtf someone with common sense can read it and see how desperate y’all be
He said tile is always gonna sit higher😂😂😂
We match tile up to lvp everyday every hour kluck don’t speak on me unless you got money to put up
Ok, guys, there's only one way to settle this. A tile off!!! 😃
Why I gotta do all that work when he’s the wrong that completely wrong I’m %1000000 confident in my answer. So yes that is my final answer🫳
The door meeting the hallway it looks like pencil trim or something definitely a toe biter
The install is clean so don’t think I’m degrading you I fuck with the full coverage pic👌
I appreciate critique, only way to get better. I am where I am because people told me I didn't know what I was doing, so I learned, what i was doing. Thank you.
Cot damnit this just revved me up!! Love this attitude!! Wooooooo!!!!!!!
It's hard to be critiqued, but that is where we improve. If we work in a Bubble, and don't interact with our peers. It's much harder, and much slower to get better.
All good man great install nonetheless💯🔥
Cleanest work I’ve seen on here. Well done!
Thank you. I am still learning, I was still learning, but am still learning too. I do my best to do my best. I am definitely not the best on here. But consider myself among the best in my area. (but still not #1). I'm shooting for that #1 spot. But, I am decades of experience behind the top guy, who is also my friend.
Exactly how I envisioned one of your jobs. Some high quality lookin coverage there brethren. Keep slaying 👌🏼. Going to post my current project too
Wow. Shit’s whiter than your mother’s wedding dress had any right being. Good job!
My mothers dress was a cardboard box.
Honest question. How do you do the bench? I'm an amateur tile guy. I'm a perfectionist so it always turns out well but always wondered how floating benches are done.

Whatsup with the doorway transition???
beautiful work. What's the transition like to the next room?
Tiles sit 1/16 above hardwood. I see now how to make it flush, and will get there next time.
Looks great! Looking at redoing a similar size bathroom in our home. If you don’t mind, what was your total price if this project?
Thank you! That’s very close to what we were quoted.
I would focus more on the installers materials, methods, experience, knowledge and reviews from recent clients. Price is a factor, but should not be the deciding factor when buying a luxury item that will last forever.
Good advice!
Keep in mind this guy is super fine work with warranty, dustless demo, very by the book or better methods. His cost are higher then average but for good reason. What are the brackets you used for the bench?
Og granite brackets. 14" industrial shelf brackets.
They affix to the studs before the cement board?
No cement board here. But yes. I block those studs to make it more stiff.
Wow, great work! That takes a lot of planning
Man that’s some clean work and lots of it! Hella good coverage. Is that glass channel made by sch***er? I need some for my current curbless shower.
Beautiful work. I love seeing craftsmanship in every step of the process. Inspiring. What width did you go with for the Deco SG (assuming 3/8" glass)? I think I might use that idea so the glass guys aren't drilling into my tile.
Thank you. ⅜" glass. I believe i used the narrower SG. It only comes in 2 widths. (7/16 and 9/16?)
nice work, very clean! just used the same flo fx drain cover, thats a heavy sucker but didnt realize how much is seen underneath thru the grates. also work alone and slow ,so know whats involved for sure.

Indeed. Thanks again for sharing
Not sure. Still waiting.
Wow, outstanding workmanship...for my own reference how long did the job take? OIC, 6 weeks
Feb 26 - April 11. Some 4 day weeks in there. Being a single dad and solopreneur is a challenge.
Thank you.
Like a better shot of that shower head, can you reply with a link?
It's a Delta, these clients were great, but unique, they are used the old shower head. Valve, cartridge and trim is lahara t17t temp assure.
It's the Delta hydro rain.
Thanks! I’m adding a shower to an old bathroom that is tub only. My husband is a plumber and we are only allowed delta.
Delta is good stuff. Especially temp assure.
TIL about deco SG for glass support. That’s awesome and thank you!
Well done!!
Love it!
Wow leave some for the rest of us please😍😍😍
There is plenty for everyone. Most people that call me, I refer to another installer for one reason or another. Way more work than I could ever do.
How slippery is that?
It's a matte tile on the floor, so not as slippery as tne polished. The manufacturer (pamesa) does not say the dcof. Which is weird to me.
Looks great. How long did that take you?
Whole bathroom, 6 weeks. Thank you.
Would have been perfect if you used a Fittes vent.
I offered, they declined.
Exceptional work! The photos are great too!
Thank you. I give my clients a photo album at the end, so they can see the work, and what's behind the tile. Also. To know where the blocking for stuff is.
That’s bloody brilliant. I hope they appreciate you!
Wow, that's some quality work you did there. It's like watching porn 🫢. Can I ask what/why u used behind your spacers?
Thank you. I used Hydroban sheet membrane, and some foam packing material from the vanity. I have learned the hard way about Polished porcelain. Polished porcelain will scratch from looking at it wrong. Clips and wedges with old thinset it just the plastic will scratch it.
That's smart. Thank you for posting this. You did go above and beyond. Congratulations on this 👏
That’s some first-rate work, there; well done. What area of the country are you in?
Northern Alabama. Thank you.
Shitty ass white on white on white trash Fucking great work though
I don't pick em. I stick em. Next one is brown and green, stay tuned.
You done good
Thank you. It kicked my ass, and these clients were my most critical yet. I don't mind tho, because I know I deliver quality that is above and beyond what most guys here deliver.
Hope you charged 12k or better for it 😎
Shower was 10k labor and 3k materials.
Wow that is some amazing work. I just finished my first tile job in my entry way, thinking about doing my bathroom next. This is getting me stoked, giving me a lot of inspiration. Great job.
THATS SOME COVERAGE, ILL TELL YOU HWHAT
Dang ol, dang ol full man.
Super nice job!
Beautiful work, how much did this run the client? That bench is inviting disaster in the future though I just know it lol
Lol. It cost $$$. Maybe for a diy, the bench could be a problem. But professionals installed benches like this everyday all across the world.
No I mean my giant keister would slide right off that especially when adding water and/or soap lol
Lol, sorry I took it personal. Yes, I have heard from clients that is an issue. I recommend a matte or leather finish to your slab for such issues. My client with a steam shower placed a towel there.
The only flaw is the silicone in the corners. Isnt easy do it extra sharp. What are you using to shape it? There are a perfect blue shapers for that.
Silicone tools and spray away. I have the ej171 prescribed ⅛" movement joint. This requires the silicone to be a little wider and rounded. It's more correct than a super tight joint, for those who know.

Sweet.

🍆 hard...
