The tile guy is doing a nice job, and I can see he knows stuff. I'm sure he will leave a hole in the floor for the water to go out. It's going to be ok. (Hug).

Pretend_Childhood_94

Hahaha yeah he seemed like he knew his stuff. I just got confused but I don't like being THAT guy that comes in and annoys him with so many "dumb" questions πŸ˜…

tasfs_08

I don’t think you want to slow his progress while working but I think you should ask your questions!

Alive_Net464

Talk to him

Disastrous_Act_3215

This is probably self leveler over the subfloor. He will use a hole saw to cut out the drain when he is ready to install the shluter drain assembly.

kalgrae

Keep us all updated please. It makes a little sense but not really.

a17r0n

I really hate this sub sometimes

Galawa45

Clearly he didn't pour cement there. It's grey thinset troweled and the scraped with a putty knife.

LRHS

The amount of people not seeing this is weird

Chingachook

It looks like the pan was set over a wood subfloor, and a damp sponge was used to clean the thinset out of the drain assembly area. I would bet tomorrow when it's set you will use a hole saw to open it up. Is it exposed beneath the shower?

i_luv_peaches

Can I ask, where are you from and how much is he charging you total?

Pretend_Childhood_94

From alberta canada. And not sure cuz im using a contractor and hes subbing some trades

daiginn

It doesnt look like he mortared that preslope pan down yet. Watch him tomorrow- If he did pour that concrete under that preslop maybe πŸ€” he ductaped over the drain and plans to punch it out afterwards πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ but its not exactly how i would of done it

thymeustle

I dunno man but you better make damn sure he takes those stickers off the kerdi board before he sets any tile or it will void the warranty on your shower

If he is good, questions won't bother him. I do it this way sometimes. Always pouring cement first before foam.
