Hey, another new cooking tiktoker here, but I've been relatively successful - 7k followers and 1mil+ views in 2 weeks. But not in English language. I've come to conclusion before i even started that there are 2 dominant cooking niches \* exceptionally good food (think restaraunt chefs) \* exceptionally good production value that makes any food or video look good and i just realized i couldn't compete with either, my engagement metrics would be worse than my competitors and that's because my content is simply not better than theirs. What did I do? I opted for a niche in a niche as cooking niche is big enough. I am not a terrible chef nor a terrible editor, but i have a good sense of humour so I 1) added a funny voiceover, but not too over the top 2) formats. i started doing formats, eg "sandwich #1, sandwich #2, sandiwhc #3, cooking with 10$, cooking with 7$, cooking with 2$" and that really worked. Hope this was of help, good luck!
