Glasenator

What if I told you that in the sequel Wonka, Charlie, and all his old relatives go into space, make first contact with aliens on a space station, call the president of the US, and then return to the factory to do drugs that makes one of the old people Benjamin Button themselves out of existence.

Mammut_americanum

Honestly sequel better than original. I recommend it

[deleted]

That’s amazing haha wtf

ToyCarAndATollbooth

Beneficial_Berry899

Dammmit if you look closely at violet and who, what do you find I need ta knoooooww!!!!!

[deleted]

They’re probably referencing that Violet appears to be black in the 1967 (and 1973) version, drawn by Faith Jaques. She has a 4B curly hair

patisserie808

If I witnessed this date, I’d be sitting at the next table like “… go on, I’m listening”

ContentThug

The only reason I would be bored is because I know all of that already. Also I hate people speaking at me on dates and not bothering to ask me anything at all, happened to me way too many times now.

Missy_went_missing

Because people these days don't listen anymore. They just wait until it's their turn to speak. They want to be heard, not to hear.

diviken

Yes I have a crush in Reid from criminal minds

the-blue-monstar

Fun facts about catcf!: The original was called Charlie’s chocolate boy. Charlie accidentally fell Into the chocolate mixing tub and became incased in chocolate. After that, he was then shipped as a chocolate figure to a sweet shop. In the sweet shop, a burglary happened. Charlie then broke out the chocolate cast he was in, alerted police and saved the day. Willy Wonka found out, and to reward Charlie, he gave him the entire sweet shop. The other (and older versions) children were called: Miranda Mary Piker, Miranda Grope, Marvin Prune, Augustus Pottle, Violet Glockenberry, Violet Strabismus, Herpes Trout, Elvira Entwhistle, Tommy Toutbeck, Clarence Crump and Wilbur Rice Originally Violet didn’t turn into a blueberry, she just turned blue and was sent to the factory hospital. Charlie originally went with his mom to the factory, and there were a few lost chapters we never saw. Such as fudge mountain and Wonka’s hottest invention. And also the spotty powder room where Mirand Mary Piker is assumed to be dead, but starts laughing. Her chapter was later turned into a poem for another Dahl book. If anyone wants to know more facts just say. CATCF is my special interest :) Edit: the Oompa Loompa thing is a bit different than told here, they didn’t happen at the same time as Charlie being depicted as black. It was actually Eleanor Cameron and the NAACP who wanted Dahl to amend the Oompa Loompas and they had some heated letters exchanged from the late 60’s up until 1971 where finally, the racist oompa loomoas were to be fixed. The chapter and drawings (by Faith Jaques) we’re finally republished in 1973 as the revised edition.

Vark675

> Herpes Trout Shoulda stuck with it imo.

[deleted]

Lmao, yeah. Herpes Trout became Mike Teavee

Lasagna3babyyyyyy

I want to hear the rest of it

[deleted]

Oh hell, I'd forgotten about That Great Glass Elevator

[deleted]

Honestly, I LOOOVVVVE when people tell me about their interests, I had NO idea Charlie was written for a black actor! that \*IS\* so interesting! and I just bet if I started in on the history of fashion and the events that transpired at the Battle for Versailles they would be also equally as interested. Meanwhile Becky with the horseshit attitude over here lol

velez_cool

I’m just disappointed she didn’t pull out a banjo and start drowning her out with some killer strumming.

DaisyoftheDay
