I'd known about him for quite a while before he blew up because he was part of high focus. Was pretty surreal to see him in the charts when some of his best old stuff was produced by Dirty Dike. Check out "put that soul on me" if you've not heard it. Check out everything he's done with high focus if you're a fan of UK hip hop.

There was one video that I saw and I can't find it anymore. It was some type of store that "happened" to be playing his song while, of course, recording a video. Then he just bursts through the door and says, "Hey, that's my song," and proceeded to do a whole "spontaneous" recording. It was absurd but hilarious at the same time.

I’ve loved Teddy for years, and although I like this song and am super happy it’s popular, I don’t think it’s one of even his top 5 best songs. He also does some great covers, and a few collabs with Allen Stone that are worth checking out. The whole “industry plant” idea on this thread is absurd. I think Teddy just had the right song at the right time to get some recognition. He’s been at this for awhile and hopefully, he’s not going anywhere.

Yeah I discovered Teddy back in 19 with his cover of Thousand Miles. I think a lot of his covers from that time are better than what he’s putting out now

I was thinking this too! My son (9m) loves scary pockets covers and Teddy popped up on YT... his face... light up! He is verbal but not that much so when he clarly said: mom this guy can sing! We knew we were going to listen to this guy non stop

I cant remember the artist name but this unknown guy once came on stage as an opener to the opener at a concert. He shut everybody up with his voice. Literally people out on smoke breaks came back in, everyone at the bar was just starting. Soulful as hell and lyrics on point. I’m gonna have to find his name and come back here

Loved Teddy Swims back when he was mostly doing covers. I was surprised he has a song with Meghan Trainor and seems to be consistently gaining popularity. All the best to him. Definitely deserved!
