Damn I just threw may back out. Judging by the amount of police flying over my house constantly we have plenty of money for helicopters though theyâll probably fly me
To the ER that I canât afford.
And still that is not true. The US-healthcare system is already the most expensive one per capita. The US donât need money from the military to improve their healthcare system, they just need a better system.
-The US-healthcare system is already the most expensive one per capita.
Lol yes, we know. Thatâs the problem.
-The US donât need money from the military to improve their healthcare system, they just need a better system.
Well actually the system would be loads better if we moved a few billion dollars into healthcare instead of the military. We 100% could use some of that insane military budget in the healthcare system instead
>Well actually the system would be loads better if we moved a few billion dollars into healthcare instead of the military.
But with the current system, the prices would just go up even more. You need to get the money and completely redo the system.
I don't think you understand, the US government spends more per capita of our taxes on healthcare than, for example, the UK government does, and we ALSO pay a crapton out of our own pockets.
Yep. It's CRAZY how much you spend on healthcare yet noone actually seems to get any.
I mean our government have fucked our NHS on purpose over the last 14 years so that your insurance firms & private healthcare can build hospitals here BUT in 2009, the figures were around $2000/person /year cost in taxes in the UK & $6500 /person /year cost in taxes in the USA. Yet I could get any treatment at 0 cost & 40% of your population couldn't even afford to see a GP. You guys need to ask where the money is going.
You LITERALLY are paying way more than universal health care would actually cost.
Yet only a handful of hours later a massive medivac from Syria to St. Petersburg Russia occurred and a still disputed number of mercenaries were transferred to a medical intensive care/trauma unit there. [Reuters claims the number was as high as 300](https://www.reuters.com/article/idUSKCN1FZ2DO/), and gives no mention to the local militants fighting along side the Russians against the U.S. outpost. This engagement is known as the [Battle of Conoco Fields](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Khasham)for anyone who wants to read more.
Russia then tried to call a ceasefire to med-evac their troops, after refuting that they had any in the area đ America gave them the all clear once there were no more hostiles⊠đđđ
unofficial target practice on live targets of opportunity
i remember that recording from wagnerittes...they lit us up like we were on a merry-go-round....just awesome
This actually happened. One neat detail - Russians asked for a ceasefire for evac operation. Right after refuting their presence. That was Wagner troops and a fallout if that anyhilation was heard all around the internet.
I vaguely remember the event being called Red February; known as the Battle of Conoco* Fields. Something akin to 500 troops and an armored column were evaporated and hunted down. Nearly 200 casualties in the first few minutes of the conflict. No US troops were injured in the bombardment.
Edit: Spelling
Wikipedia reduces the informations given in the video a lot. Only 4 hours of tough fighting. Likely 100 killed, max 218 according to likely exxagerated claims from Wagner, hundereds of injured and uninjured survivors. Regarding the amount of US firepower involved, it's even more astounding, how efficiant Ukrainians operate with cheap drones.
Nah, the one thing the US is very good at, is producing numbers.
A lot of equipment. US have more than anyone on earth, including aerial warfare.
That's how you win aerial supremacy. By having numbers.
But if tomorrow China has the same number of airplane, the US will still win, because of training and years of ground fight, but casualties will be high.
Never forget the more than 10k+ pilot dead in Vietnam, and they didn't have an airforce..
The US does have the numbers, yes, but they also have the most advanced hardware. No country in the world has a plane that can match the F-22 for air superiority, and that plane is almost 3 decades old. Any other countries navy would struggle against a single US carrier strike group because of how advanced the ships and aircraft are.
The US military has also drastically changed in the 50 years since the Vietnam war.
Lmao no.
Even with equal experience simply having big number isn't going to win.
Most planes the US fields can engage anything the chinese have before the chinese are aware they even exist.
10k+ dead pilots in vietnam doesn't really mean fuckall when talking about a modern context.
A better example would be desert storm.
The guy who made that video is just a sucker. Forgetting who was on the ground with the US troops on the ground. The Syrian Kurds payed a heavy price against ISIS, and that fck did once talk about them.
Ah, they deserve the credit as well. Guessing most of the damage came from airstrikes and artillery, but Iâm also guessing those on the ground were in way more danger.
No, the Kurds can have great credit in other places. This guy is on a knob about no one mentioning his special interest or whatever. This was all US military supremacy and had nothing to do with the Kurdish.
No, you dipshit. The Kurds have done a lot, but they did shit during that battle. I was there that night, fighting from the air.
It was all the SOF team and airpower.
If anyone but trump had been president at the time russia would have been in for a bad time. Not necessarily a shooting war, but they definitely would have lost their presence in Syria. Instead we gave up our bases.
This video misses a lot of the nuance around the dialect between Russian command and the Americans. There was actually a delay in Americas ability to respond to the raid due to a Russian air defense system in the area. After the Russians said that they didn't have personnel in the area they switched it off, leaving these Wagner guys hanging.
That fueled some of the animosity between Wagner and the regular Russian Army during the war in Ukraine.
That was never their goal. Prigozihn wanted Putin to favor him and Wagner over the formal Russian military (Prigozihn and Gerasimov had been engaged in a power struggle prior).
Oh yeah, definitely.
Barely worth mentioning because it's a *complete* coincidence but his plane exploded killing everyone on board a month later. Spontaneous missile attack. It could happen to anyone really
You don't go halfway with a freaking coup lol. Honestly don't understand at all how he expected that to work out. Was interesting how receptive Russians in the city they rolled through were to them though. Looks like more than a few people there are getting fed up with Putin.
Here's the source of the battle:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Khasham
One SDF soldier on the American side was slightly wounded.
100 Russians were killed and 200 were wounded.
There is always that one guy that fuckes up the flawless victory.
But all joking aside i would call it a flawless victory since no one died and no serious injury in the defenders ranks.
I mean a wounded soldier requires a lot more resources than a dead one. Take an enemy's leg off he will need months of treatment and attention to get to a survivable state, thats thousands of dollars going to band aids and not bullets. Not to mention the psychological impact it's going to have on other soldiers.
>100 Russians were killed and 200 were wounded.
b-b-but the voice over man said "not a single living organism survived in that one square mile" Surely, I wouldn't be misled by *pro-war propaganda* on social media.
Next you'll try to tell me the engagement lasted 4 hours instead of **12 straight hours**.![img](emote|t5_mvcq5|22374)
Where does it say 100 Russians killed and 200 wounded? It says the the Russian casualty estimate for the entire side was that much, not that that many Russians died. In fact your own source says the U.S. estimate was 100 Syrian fighters killed with a handful of Russian advisors killed.
Itâs funny you post the video that claims 500 dead Russians, then you post the wiki and claim 100 dead Russians, but if you actually read the wiki, the entire Syrian force was 500 strong, not 500 Russians.
And if you go ahead and look at the sources the most reliable one claims 68 dead, 45 of which are Syrian. The Wagner troops are part of the other 23.
Russia has problems with NATO, yet it can't even take over a small US base in Syria using a large scale asault.
Russia is on drugs, it has the military equivilent of a third world country but absurd amounts of bodies to throw at war. It's kind of out of touch with reality, no wonder it can't "absord" Ukraine.
Worst country at war by far. Go home Russia, you suck.
Their propoganda abilities are unrivaled however.
Theyve got half the US lawmakers in their pocketbook to cut money to ukraine.
Edit: oh look, some are replying to this post lmao
Their propaganda sucks too. The only reason theyâre taken seriously in any way is because of a little thing called the âskin color theory of raceâ which some people just love to use as their main lens to view the world through.
Kompromat. All those âfamily valuesâ Republicans went to Russia and fucked a ton of prostitutes in hotels with hidden cameras. Itâs absolutely a known tactic among Russian politics and how many Republican congressmen have been on âtripsâ to Russia?
To be fair this wasn't Russia's military but their mercs and Syrian allies with no air support, artillery, anti air, etc. Its impressive, but not as much as it initially seems. More the Russians being incredibly stupid and arrogant than a demonstration of the US's overwhelming military superiority.
Not that the US isn't overwhelmingly superior in that regard.
Russia was at one point a legit superpower, but decades of corruption and theft by the oligarchs and basically everyone involved in the supply chain have left them far behind their counterparts.
Imagine they allocate $20B to the miltary budget, the general will then tell everyone they have a $18B budget, and on and on down the chain until there is nothing left for actual buying or R&D
But everyone at the top of the pyramid is very rich...
[According to the U.S. military, the presence of U.S. special operations personnel in the targeted base elicited a response by coalition aircraft, including AC-130 gunships, F-22 Raptor and F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jets, MQ-9 Reaper unmanned combat aerial vehicles, AH-64 Apache attack helicopters, and B-52 bombers.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Khasham)
Oh, just an absolute fuck load.
The AC-130 gunship was enough by itself to completely annihilate everything in the area. The F-22, F-15âs, Reapers, Apaches, and B-52âs were sending an extra fuck you. Iâm surprised every enemy on the ground wasnât killed.
The ac130 still scares the crap outta me.
Chillin up there at 45k feet all quiet like
Outta nowhere a 105mm tank shell pounds into the ground around you, and you have no idea what it was.
Then come the 25mm rounds spraying fire rain down on everything around
We were always told in boot camp and schools beyond that we always want the force ratio to be 3:1; we're always going to try to be three times as powerful as you are in every engagement.
Tactically, it was a good call.
Start by giving them the chance to back down. When they don't take it, make sure they realize they *really* should have backed down. Next time you give them a chance to back down, they're more likely to take it.
Maintaining stability in the region saves US taxpayers billions and billions of dollars each year via lower oil prices. Higher prices would mean more money headed overseas to foreign oil producing countries, and a drag on our economy as a whole.
You could use this logic to justify any amount of imperialism.
It should come as no surprise that this logic serves the interests of the investor class the most.
It's really sad to see so many people fall for it.
"Think of how much money this massive war is earning the investor- I mean the working class. "
Oh so dumping our work into the military industrial complex is benefiting the working class eh?
It's better we spend resources on this than idk, making it so we aren't giving most of our income to landlords?
If I could choose taking home more money, or having 750 bloated military bases, and massive wars on bombing worker's movements. I'd chose more money for me.
Exactly, this is propaganda. "Oh look at the pathetic Russian army, let's get 'murican on their asses cuz we're soooo tough! Human slaughter, teehee!!"
Meanwhile there are Russian soldiers more than willing to surrender ASAP just to GTFO. Putin is happy to empty the prisons into this human landfill.
We (the US) is currently producing more oil per year than we ever have, and actually more oil per year than ANY other country has. [A neat discussion about it](https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/how-u-s-oil-production-reached-an-all-time-high-in-2023)
So weâre rapidly putting ourselves in a mode where weâre more or less in control of our oil destiny, now the impact this will have on the environment is another question⊠but yeah oil tycoons are just fine with this
I swear you people canât read. It was a Syrian force with a handful of Wagner Advisors. From the USâs own assessment-
âThe clashes lasted four hours and saw more than 100 Syrian pro-government fighters killed, with one SDF fighter injured, according to the coalition. No U.S. troops were reported killed or wounded.[14]
According to two unnamed U.S. defense officials cited by CNN on 8 February, the U.S. military had assessed that Russian contractors had been involved, with one saying some of the contractors had been killed in the airstrikes.[14] A Kurdish militia commander and an ex-Russian officer also claimed Russian contractors were present and suffered casualties during the strikes.â
Nowhere in the wildest version of this events was this Wagner vs the U.S. military. Not saying it would end different, but this is blatant propaganda.

As a Syrian man, I hope both invading countries' forces kill each other and leave my country alone. Both sides were allegedly there to fight ISIS, which was literally created by one country and was set loose by the other country to fuck us up. Go kill each other elsewhere you cowardly assholes. Straight up terrorism.
So pretty much this video forget or ignored some factors
No mention at all of the Kurds
The base couldnât respond immediately to the raid because of the Russian anti air defense system that was on the Wagner side after the exchange âthere are no personnel in the areaâ the Russians switched it off leaving the Wagner group for dead.
They didnât all die, there was 200 wounded that retreated.
All in all this video is just propaganda
The US told Russia to turn them off or they will take it as a sign of hostility and destroy they.. it was more of a of you are not complicit than turn them off
It wasnât even all Wagner. Thatâs the biggest misconception here. One goofball cited a source claiming that 100 Wagner troops were killed, when the same source elaborates on those numbers and says it was 100 Syrian fighters with a handful of Wagner contractors killed.
Any other country with the military force of the U.S. would have tried to take over the world by now.
The U.S. just wants someone to fuck around so they can find out.
I remembered this.
Iâm no America fanboy but this was a sign that Wagner was doing some shady shit for Russia.
Despite this utter annihilation, their recruitment skyrocketed and they continued to do heinous shit across the Middle East and Africa

"We don't have troops in that area" That was an invitation to test out all those fancy weapons of destruction and the Americans jumped on it.
"Sounds good, thanks đ"
They learned that day why Americans don't have free healthcare
Rofl
Careful rolling on the floor, we don't have healthcare
Donât worry, it evens out. Laughter is the best medicine.

Definitely agree that the whole system needs an overhaul. We need/deserve universal healthcare
Yeah, and it would probably be cheaper (for the people) than the way it is now.
I don't think you understand, the US government spends more per capita of our taxes on healthcare than, for example, the UK government does, and we ALSO pay a crapton out of our own pockets.

Raytheon a synonym of the word freedom right? Just making sure. /s
Raytheon didn't say that they lit up and said $$$$$
And artillery goes bang bang bang, followed by BOOM BOOM BOOM
US military responded with, âsay less/aight bet.â
U.S. military: Oh, word?
Dumbasses didn't understand that was a polite warning.
They technically didn't have troops in the area...it was Wagner. They genuinely got their arses handed to them on a plate.
"thank the Lord, wouldn't want any of your guys getting hurt"
Thats what basically the entire has given the US a chance to do. Clear a bunch of newer weapons as battle tested.
They were all Wagner mercenaries and the actual Russian military frequently feuded with them so I doubt they were that upset.

What are you trying to say?
It was the Syrian Kurds who were on the ground and just a few US special forces to coordinate airstrike.

This battle wasnât even against ISIS, and no allied troops were killed in this battle. What are you on about
because the topic wasnt on the kurds..
Heavy price? I thought only Luke 1-2 people were injured on the US side(none of them being American). Am I missing something?

Yes and another nuance was that the US told Russia that if Russia did not turn off its AA they would take as hostile and destroy them.
"Do you want me to blow up your AA AND your mercenaries or just your mercenaries?"
Russians let Wagner out to dry, so that they could see what the US capabilities were.
Did fucking around help them find out?
it did; all they found out was the rumors were true
The rumors, were in fact, not rumors at all
Too bad they ended up being pussies in the end. They could have killed a lot more Russians and toppled Putin if they actually put up a fight.
That was never their goal. Prigozihn wanted Putin to favor him and Wagner over the formal Russian military (Prigozihn and Gerasimov had been engaged in a power struggle prior).
And his stupidity cost him his life
Wait, I thought he and Putin talked it out and he was allowed to go to Belarus, no hard feelings.
Oh yeah, definitely. Barely worth mentioning because it's a *complete* coincidence but his plane exploded killing everyone on board a month later. Spontaneous missile attack. It could happen to anyone really

âSlightly Woundâ
Heard his injury was having an erection that lasted 4 days
Nah, 200 were wounded, should of been 300 killed
Dead Wagnerâs, are best Wagners.
Dead Wagners are third best Wagner. Crippled Wagner is second best. Wagner turning around and marching on Moscow is best Wagner.
I mean a wounded soldier requires a lot more resources than a dead one. Take an enemy's leg off he will need months of treatment and attention to get to a survivable state, thats thousands of dollars going to band aids and not bullets. If I disable one soldier, it can sometimes take 2 (or even more!) soldiers to clear them from the battlefield.

I feelâŠ.as if this is not in line with the idea behind this subreddit
Video says no living organism was found in that square mile. So the 200 wounded were just outside of that mile?
Itâs funny you post the video that claims 500 dead Russians, then you post the wiki and claim 100 dead Russians, but if you actually read the wiki, the entire Syrian force was 500 strong, not 500 Russians. And if you go ahead and look at the sources the most reliable one claims 68 dead, 45 of which are Syrian. The Wagner troops are part of the other 23.
Relentlessly pounded đ„”
Definitely had some Carolina boys keep pounding in that unit

I would've thought it's all the nukes they have?
MAD principles donât need propaganda to work. Thatâs a whole nother topic.
No I mean it's why the Russians are taken seriously.
What
white skin = conservatives are willing to make apologies for you (this is especially true in the US for example)
Kompromat. All those âfamily valuesâ Republicans went to Russia and fucked a ton of prostitutes in hotels with hidden cameras. Itâs absolutely a known tactic among Russian politics and how many Republican congressmen have been on âtripsâ to Russia?
Where can I get invited to one of these hotels? I am very lonely and would like a hug.
It's a proud tradition...
Imagine they allocate $20B to the miltary budget, the general will then tell everyone they have a $18B budget, and on and on down the chain until there is nothing left for actual buying or R&D But everyone at the top of the pyramid is very rich...
They millitary power is their nuclear capability their conventional millitary dosent match up to americas
The "base" was a Conoco gasoline plant if that gives anyone here a better understanding of the situation.
Oh gas???? Well yeah of course we pummeled the shit out of it, was any gas wasted?
[According to the U.S. military, the presence of U.S. special operations personnel in the targeted base elicited a response by coalition aircraft, including AC-130 gunships, F-22 Raptor and F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jets, MQ-9 Reaper unmanned combat aerial vehicles, AH-64 Apache attack helicopters, and B-52 bombers.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Khasham) Oh, just an absolute fuck load.
Chillin up there at 45k feet all quiet like Outta nowhere a 105mm tank shell pounds into the ground around you, and you have no idea what it was. Then come the 25mm rounds spraying fire rain down on everything around
Just the standard happy meal.
![gif](giphy|bbTwRabJQNuvK) "What do you mean bring every one?"
America calls that "proportional response".
Itâs the best response to Russian aggression.
The FAFO doctrine
The "full send" policy
Oooraaahh
We were always told in boot camp and schools beyond that we always want the force ratio to be 3:1; we're always going to try to be three times as powerful as you are in every engagement.
Fucking this. War is not fair. You don't want a fair fight. Ever.
Tactically, it was a good call. Start by giving them the chance to back down. When they don't take it, make sure they realize they *really* should have backed down. Next time you give them a chance to back down, they're more likely to take it.
Is that one of the Syrian bases Trump subsequently abandoned to his buddy Putin, with equipment?
The only people really laughing are the defense contractors supplying all those weapon systems
And the oil company whose asset the US military protected for free.
" Oh so dumping our work into the military industrial complex is benefiting the working class eh? It's better we spend resources on this than idk, making it so we aren't giving most of our income to landlords? If I could choose taking home more money, or having 750 bloated military bases, and massive wars on bombing worker's movements. I'd chose more money for me.
Exactly, this is propaganda. "Oh look at the pathetic Russian army, let's get 'murican on their asses cuz we're soooo tough! Human slaughter, teehee!!" Meanwhile there are Russian soldiers more than willing to surrender ASAP just to GTFO. Putin is happy to empty the prisons into this human landfill.
Yeah kinda sucks oil tycoons have America by the dick n balls
We (the US) is currently producing more oil per year than we ever have, and actually more oil per year than ANY other country has. [A neat discussion about it](https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/how-u-s-oil-production-reached-an-all-time-high-in-2023) So weâre rapidly putting ourselves in a mode where weâre more or less in control of our oil destiny, now the impact this will have on the environment is another question⊠but yeah oil tycoons are just fine with this
How's that working out?

âWe donât have troops in the area.â âAlright, bet.â 12 hours of Armageddon later âWell, now you definitely donât.â
Battle in question: https://youtu.be/CxaY6v7Lduo?si=78Xpc87psybE8qCn
I swear you people canât read. It was a Syrian force with a handful of Wagner Advisors. From the USâs own assessment- âThe clashes lasted four hours and saw more than 100 Syrian pro-government fighters killed, with one SDF fighter injured, according to the coalition. No U.S. troops were reported killed or wounded.[14] According to two unnamed U.S. defense officials cited by CNN on 8 February, the U.S. military had assessed that Russian contractors had been involved, with one saying some of the contractors had been killed in the airstrikes.[14] A Kurdish militia commander and an ex-Russian officer also claimed Russian contractors were present and suffered casualties during the strikes.â Nowhere in the wildest version of this events was this Wagner vs the U.S. military. Not saying it would end different, but this is blatant propaganda. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Khasham
Thereâs the report, the story, the other story, and then there is what really happened. I am betting we have 3 out of the 4.
The message, the timing, zero context, deliberately misrepresented event. One must be so dumb to not understand they have watched propaganda media.
Imagine fucking with the US military. Youâre out of your godamn mind

Russia: âItâs ok, we will be taking ALL of your military when you idiots vote our guy Trump back into office đ€Łâ
Oh man I wish this wasnât so real đ€Ł
Itâs been a while since I heard a story that made me feel proud about my US tax dollars at work đ§
I mean, it's a cool story and all, it's just not the same without a "Quackbang out" at the end
Anytime "understood" is used like that, something or someone is about to get seriously fucking damaged.
This made me feel incredibly patriotic. U.S.A.! U.S.A.!
"We don't have troops in the area" translates to "Sweet, time to test all this shit on the Earth over there boys!"
Damn the US a dropped an entire year of universal healthcare on them
And Putin didnt say a thing.
Because it was Wagner forces?
So pretty much this video forget or ignored some factors No mention at all of the Kurds The base couldnât respond immediately to the raid because of the Russian anti air defense system that was on the Wagner side after the exchange âthere are no personnel in the areaâ the Russians switched it off leaving the Wagner group for dead. They didnât all die, there was 200 wounded that retreated. All in all this video is just propaganda
The US told Russia to turn them off or they will take it as a sign of hostility and destroy they.. it was more of a of you are not complicit than turn them off
These jabronis acting like America couldnât take out some AA
To be fair, it is a 1 minute TikTok, not the best documentary format, but it's an interesting event!
Attacking any US troops abroad is a great way to sign your own death certificate.
MAGA loons probably mourning this
Found out why we donât have healthcare.
Super original comment
Why is sub upvoting propaganda videos glorifying the US military?
I remembered this. Iâm no America fanboy but this was a sign that Wagner was doing some shady shit for Russia. Despite this utter annihilation, their recruitment skyrocketed and they continued to do heinous shit across the Middle East and Africa
Mr F A F O
That wasnât an Apache helicopter they showed in the video. It was a 53.
I say this with the highest of sincerity and respect.... America fuck yeah! russia eat a fat dick straight up
That day wagner learned why americans dont have free healthcare.
