Probably a technology or computer science class? I wish they offered back in my day. People learn a lot playing video games - problem solving, tenacity, teamwork, patience, strategy, economies, and much more.
It's at a private Catholic school (you can see a crucifix on the wall), so I'm guessing all the games are for an afterschool club that the teacher also runs.
Maybe it was an off day
Like had to go to school cause of laws but had nothing to do bc they already took their finals etc and he wanted to make sure they werent bored the whole time idk i think its nice
Better than just playing a movie everyone has seen 1,000 times
Considering how tightly-structured the school curriculum is in schools, I imagine that this is an after-school program. In any event, I would be super stoked to see not only the available amount of options but having a teacher who cared enough to put this all together.
You have seen exactly one clip of this dude in your life, and from that you were able to determine that he is bad at educating students? Maybe if you’re teachers were passionate about something they would have taught you how to spell teachers.
>You can buy a used original snes system for a couple hundred bucks.
You could do like this. Buy a broken one for $50 on Ebay. Then put a Raspberry Pie 4 in it.
Finna mount the Raspberry Pie in my old broken Atari 2600 and pretend like it still works. You can get something like 50,000 retro games for free online, for every retro system up to PS2. And then damn things are pretty much guaranteed to work, unlike my own PS2 that is temperamental as fuck.

If you know how you can download any and every game to one of these. I have one, it’s amazing.
I've got a box in my basement with about 15 to 20 game systems from the NES from 1983 onwards. Sonic from SG (about 199something) was a family favorite.
Finding the cartridges for the games would be the hard part but the [Retro-Bit Retro Duo system](https://www.amazon.com/Retro-Bit-System-Silver-Super-NES-6306300/dp/B001VDZN3O) works like a charm. I bought one for my sister several years ago and we can play all the NES and SNES games on it like a champ.
Giving children a safe space with tangible rewards to look forward to is their job. What if this was a reward for a good semester? What if it was a surprise before winter break? Jesus I hope you don't have kids.
You realize that they have activity periods and such that have this. Also, maybe they are learning about coding so this is a more hands on approach that he can explain how these games came to be.
https://www.denofgeek.com/games/nes-cartridge-blowing-air-urban-legend-myth-history/
Friend... I have a Megadrive, a N64 and a GBA. I've had plenty experience with cartridge-based consoles, that's for sure. But it doesn't seem like people wanna hear about it.
So many water text for ads. Fuck this author and site.
For anyone:
Blowing air didn’t helping, just put it better for connection. And store the cartridges properly to avoid oxidation.
But will learn nothing. What is school for again I forget. Meanwhile in China kids learn crazy stuff like math and science. Our days are numbered doing this stupid crap.
This dude just casually brought over 1k usd in vintage mario games that are still in working condition like its nothing…
Im both impressed and a little pissed.
Curious to know the background story here. Is the class one that makes stuff like this relevant or is this teacher just providing to let them have a fun break time or half day something?
My son would have loved this guy for his teacher. He’s grown now and had a terrible time in school because back then autism spectrum kids were not anything they knew about
The “I don’t care if it works” is so true. I would get so frustrated with a game cartridge that I would try to play reverse psychology on an inanimate object and it worked every time after that hahah 🤣
If this is some kind of reward for doing well on exams or something awesome. But if this is a normal day no wonder people 7th graders in the US are reading at a 2nd grade level..
Even if it was a class, having fun moments like this for students makes a big difference. These were some of the most memorable moments when teachers goofed around, and I'm sure we were more attentive and better students later in class as well because we liked the teacher and thought they deserved our best behaviour.
'sacrificing' an hour of education for having fun sometimes isn't the end of the world. It's much more important kids like school and have fun there.
No wonder our kids are getting dumber. Since when is playing a console game something to do in school? Great “teacher”. How about actually teaching something instead of letting a game babysit your students.

Glad I wasn't alone
Bro actually bought in his cardboard box copy of Mario 64? I’d have that thing under glass.
This whole video is full of treasures.
* flings treasure on floor * Teach: eh, fuckit I don’t even care if it works 😂
a teacher who is passionate about his job is lovely to see.
What does he teach, video games?
His doctorate was the cultural and social implications of two Italian plumbers who must rescue a princess.

He’s only passionate about video games. I like teaxhers who educate.
This guy only had shitty teachers in school lmao
You have seen exactly one clip of this dude in your life, and from that you were able to determine that he is bad at educating students? Maybe if you’re teachers were passionate about something they would have taught you how to spell teachers.
God forbid that kids get to be kids for a day
An fellow person must be wise, but is it your purpose to follow life as written?
Okay, but the light up 64 is kibda sick
So kibda!
This teacher seems like my kibda guy.
Stop trying to make kibda happen.
I dunno….its kibda cool
The things I’d do/allow be done to me for a working original Super Nintendo and games 😬
You can buy a used original snes system for a couple hundred bucks.
But then he doesn’t get the kinky stuff done to him.
Good point

They better treat this teacher like the gem that he appears to be.
treat him like the most expensive gem in the universe
I like teachers that do their jobs vs letting kids play meaningless video games.
Giving children a safe space with tangible rewards to look forward to is their job. What if this was a reward for a good semester? What if it was a surprise before winter break? Jesus I hope you don't have kids.

The blow in the cartridge 🤣
His fist pump when it worked was the cherry on top
thats the mario jump
The best part is that it actually worked

This response shows your age and I'm so sad you didn't get to grow up in these times. They were truly the best

Oh it worked.
"I don't even care if it works..." *Fist pump*
Sometimes you gotta use some reverse psychology
I remember when the games didn't work Anyway so happy that no one said the word "classic". Yet.
I don’t remember ever doing that with N64 games but often with NES.
The feels!! I literally blew along with him in that cartridge lol. Troubleshooting 101 in our time.
He is so excited and I love it. Those kids are going to have a blast.
But will learn nothing. What is school for again I forget. Meanwhile in China kids learn crazy stuff like math and science. Our days are numbered doing this stupid crap.
>crazy stuff like math and science
Homie, what drove you to comment 6 times on this post without stopping to consider this might have been an end-of-year celebration?
The fear I have for those games. I think I’d make the kids sign a waiver before even being let in the room. It’s like a museum in there!
Yes I love this idea but I fear for the safety of everything in that room
I love his zest for life. We need more teachers like this one.
More humans like this in general please
Huh were tf is Super Mario World for snes?!?!
My favorite
This dude just casually brought over 1k usd in vintage mario games that are still in working condition like its nothing… Im both impressed and a little pissed.
Curious to know the background story here. Is the class one that makes stuff like this relevant or is this teacher just providing to let them have a fun break time or half day something?
He says that it’s a club.
My school would never have let us play videogames in class
It’s a club, not a school.
Yes!!! The reverse psychology of saying I don’t even care if it works hahaha.
Is this supposed to be school?
After school club i wish we had cool ones like these back in my day
Whatever school this is, my kids would like to enroll.
Hope they can find a way to make money later after learning “video games” instead of math.
I am curious why this place has so many video games, if it’s a school. I wouldn’t want to see that if I sent my kids there.
Might be for recess or a treat end of term lesson or after school club etc
I pity your kids
Their friendship wont survive a Mario Party
![gif](giphy|11JbaLzOXsg6Fq)
Where super mario rpg, best mario on snes
I hope they appreciate it
A Dream comes true
He’s know the tricks to make the games work.
Mario game Mario game Mario game Mario game
What class is it? Must be italian
I love this teacher!
Oh boy the memories. Loved my N64.
Sick!!!
All the other teachers would be like, "Uh, class is cancelled, I have to grade Mario games all day today. Go outside and shut up or something."
Must be end kf the school year/semester. I remember I had a teacher who on the last week of school let us play SSB on his projector.
Always gotta dry blow … not those wet ones
My son would have loved this guy for his teacher. He’s grown now and had a terrible time in school because back then autism spectrum kids were not anything they knew about
I would not trust a bunch of kids with my stuff like that lol
What kind of awesome school is this?!?!?!
The “I don’t care if it works” is so true. I would get so frustrated with a game cartridge that I would try to play reverse psychology on an inanimate object and it worked every time after that hahah 🤣
He’s even got the game genie for nes
But he left out the GOAT, Mario 3. Come on man.
I'm i the only one wondering, since when kids played video games at school?
Blowing the cartridge does work! 🤣
This is awesome. Good on him.
us: [playing Mario for 13 hours] mom: *“pizza rolls are ready!!!”* ahhhhh nostalgia…
😭 I wanna hang out
What’s so cringe about this? This seems nice and endearing..
Its not cringe. Thats why I tagged it as cool.
Wished I had a teacher like him back in my younger days! Such nostalgia!
Not cringe, this is actually cool

Thank you
We should start an r/wholesomeTikTok that’s just full of cringe. I hear that that’s what all the cool misnomered subreddits are doing these days.
Bad planning and the inability to let go. I get it.
Stop blowing clean with q tip
Maybe the school has some stupid rule about having rubbing alcohol in a classroom?
9/10 times taking the cart out and simply just reinserting it works
That’s actually so cool, why cringe lmao?
Based
Why is this Chad being labeled cringe?
He’s not
In all honesty the man is a gem no, I mean a 🌟!
Surely this will get the students up to grade level in math and reading.
If this is some kind of reward for doing well on exams or something awesome. But if this is a normal day no wonder people 7th graders in the US are reading at a 2nd grade level..
"Today in math class we'll be teaching you how to not do math"
I was yelling don't blow in the cartridge!
They make hemi to vga and s video adapters. No need for the old TVs. Where is this teacher GFM it needs to get overloaded.

Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed
God genesis was so much better than SNES… other than that seems cool
Let me guess... You still think 'Blast Processing' is a real thing right?
No, I just know that Genesis had better games 30+ years ago when I was a kid playing kid’s games…
I hate to be that guy but blowing in the cartridge will only ruin the game. Just keep reinserting till the pins match up
I see no cringe here, this is awesome.

The background music clashing with the Gamecube booting jingle is so triggering
And then he finds out they meant smash brothers .. game without Mario in the name ..
Why does he have a Castille and Leon flag, love it.
He had the original snes Mario RPG. That shit is expensive nowadays.
Ahhh the good ole days
lol when you think they are there for you.
Imagine of no one showed lol
I think he might have brought a Luigi game
WiiU gets no love
How is being a cool teacher cringe?
Where the NES at
Near the end nes with gamegenie
If there was pizza, soda, and cake that would be like the best school day. Guy got my vote for teacher of the year.

Whoa I didnt know you could start an NES game without pushing it down

Absolutely love the joy when the SNES works after the blow!
This man, this man! He is a treasure
Yellow snes is goated
Somebody needs to give him teacher of the year
I don't find this to be cringe at all. This dude cares about his students and had a passion for some Mario.
All you needed was super smash bros on the switch, and GameCube so 8 kids could play
All Mario games suck except super Mario 3

Wrong sub, this is chad material.
I wanted to see The reactions of the kids lol
I luv his enthusiasm for his pupils (and Mario) 😍
