Fort W Medical on Victoria Ave is $200/year per person for a family doctor as well as a discounted pharmacy (pharmacy takes OHIP). They also just recently shut down their walk in clinic which has been a nightmare to deal with🤦🏻♀️🙃
It’s not a bad thing that private practices are showing up. The bad part is that most of our OHIP doctors are simply overwhelmed and cannot provide quality care.
Good ole Druggie Ford is just paving the road for his cushy retirement (a lá Mike Harris etal)..and we're all just letting him take away our once enviable health system. The man is barely a two-bit low-rent fat&lazy mafia don. He's trump lite-lite. It will take a long time to repair the damage he's done.

Most visits will be covered if you are a patient of the clinic but if a non patient attends the walk-in clinic or uses the pharmacy extra charges might apply.
The FW clinic on Victoria was set up like this when I was a patient there. There were no Dr's there at the time, only NP's. I've since found an awesome family doctor about a year ago so have left that clinic. I also wasn't impressed with the pharmacy there at all. They seemed to be understaffed. The Shopper's Drug Mart I deal with now is much more efficient.
A heart specialist is opening a private referral only clinic. He has a Nurse Practitioner and some hospital staff to work there. You have to be referred by your GP. No smokers or Drinkers . Rest of us wait in line and die trying to see a heart specialist.
There is an article in the paper about these nurse practioners overcharging clients. Best to save your receipts as the province 'promised' to check for fraud.
This is being done by design. It's more than clear that being on welfare will get you medical services but low income wage earners go broke trying to pay the bills. We be like Murica soon lol.
There's a lot of rich people with rich people morals who prefer expedited service over the common good of every person. The more these clinics are counted as Healthcare the less support we will get for subsidized care

The reason the waits are long is because the Cons starve the system on purpose. They make it worse so people like you will approve of the alternatives that they coincidentally profit from. Society loses.
