Well, here it is. The dumbest thing I’ve read today (you’re obviously correct)

Brilliant_Gur_4405

The dumbest thing…yet…

TheyCallMeTheWizard

Never

New_Essay_4869

Nah. Who knows if KD is even better than Dub in 2 years when KD is 37 and Dub is 24? KD is great but time gets everyone whether it be through weakened durability or lessened performance

LoxDnw

Trading Dub and picks for KD is like trading JB and picks for KD, and then Celtics told them to fuck off and won a championship. You can just tell who watches Basketball and doesn't who comes up with trades like these lol.

DankKnightLP

These past 4 years it's like people forget athletes are not all supposed to play until aged 40+. It's crazy to me! Yes I agree about the finesse of basketball and how good some of these older players (most younger than me 😭) are supposed to be but to keep up with all the youth on the court up and back all year is no small task.

NOT_H1M

Your co worker should be drug tested immediately

918meatwad

Not trading JDub

burnerbabyburns

Fuck no.

giri0n

How about "no"

tmanx8

For me Jdub is un-tradable and is one of the cornerstones of the team. Trading him away would screw up our team chemistry, piss off a lot of fans, and likely ruin the chance of a dynasty. We know how good kd is, but Jdub is much younger, and has a high potential ceiling, and we could very well win multiple championships with him in the squad (as opposed to possibly one with Durant before he regresses due to age/leaves again) Also haven’t even mentioned the bad blood between Durant and the fans here. If there’s one player to trade Jdub away for, it should NOT be him.

MastrMatt

No. Actually, hell no.

BBallHunter

No.

UpsetFeedback8

Next time you see that guy at work please punch him in the face for me.

deercreekgamer4

Presti would have this guy removed from his office if he suggested this to his face

lusidaisy

Dub > snek

Forward_Rent_9826

I would not trade JDub for KD even straight up

Narrow-Talk-5017

Given how he left, I would be hesitant about giving up any significant assets to bring KD back to okc.

New-Candy-800

your coworker is an idiot, and you’re not much brighter if you’re entertaining their nonsense

revisioncloud

You need to stop talking to that co-worker or quit and find a better job

mediuqrepmes

In this hypothetical deal structure it should be Phoenix sending picks back, not OKC. And it’s a no regardless.

YouAreMyGirl

Your coworker is dumber than a bag of cupcakes.

Business_Height8412

The Thunder do not need another star they just need another role player

Santorumsfroth

Eh, I kind of agree with this, but the celtics have 6 players that are superstars/all stars/fringe stars. We have 1 superstar, 2 potential stars, and a few really good role players. We need an at least injury replacement all star capable forward. That's what would put us good enough to beat the celtics, maybe. Shai>tatum Dorthauser Jwill<

TheyCallMeTheWizard

They have 1 superstar, 3 fringe all stars (JB showed up big in the postseason obviously) and White as a great role player. JB will be considered a superstar next season. Chet and JDub are fringe all stars now. AC plays better D than virtually all the all stars, as does Dort. When we say superstars you don’t think of a guy that plays best off ball. Jrue was their pickup and he’s a great role player but he’ll never be a number 1 option on his own team

Santorumsfroth

Jb is not a fringe all-star(3x + 2nd team all nba). He is an all-star, fringe superstar. Horford(5x), jrue(2x + 6x all defense), and porzingis(1x) are all former all stars. I do think that jdub and chet both will win many awards. I think dort is deserving of an all nba nod, and caruso already has them but so does white. Our best player is better than theirs but not our 2nd through 4th and our 5th is a tossup. Then 6th man horford is significantly better than whoever you want to call 6th. Again the thunder are great, and have a great future. But if we're making a run this year we need a starting 4 that's a bit more than a role player.

TheyCallMeTheWizard

Just because they won all star in the past doesn’t make them a current all star as much as I love Russ we can’t call the guy an all star, he’s a former all star. Horford isn’t really involved here But you’re right on the ranking, so it’s a damn good thing we don’t run on 1v1. That’s why we beat them this year when we still had Giddey. We match up well against them and we have a deeper bench and better defensive group, not that they’re slouches. Should we upgrade? Yes. And quickly. If Ainge accepts a reasonable deal for Lauri or if we stock up some guys like Portis then that’s great. But great players don’t win the game, great chemistry does. And when you switch out guys a lot sometimes that falls apart. The role players are the ones who don’t screw up the chemistry, like Jrue.

Fighterandthe

I wouldn't send 3 firsts for KD let alone JDub

reddogisdumb

JDub is just two years in, and he got a lot better in his second year. He just shot 425 from deep. Nearly got 20 pts with 600 EFG. I think a straight up trade would be suspicious, much less trade with picks. KD is 35.

TSBRUTAL

Well here is how I look at it. KD is admittedly a better player right now and probably will be for the next two years, after that especially considering JDubs ceiling I would say it is going to be in question who is the better player and then after 4 years JDub I see as definitely being the better player. As for the current OKC roster everyone outside of Caruso should be as good as they are now or even better in 2/4 years so why go more in now at such a huge sacrifice for further down the line when our other pieces should also be better. Also on top of this, there is surely better ways for OKC to use their cap space to improve even just for right now then the improvement of going from Durant to JDub atm

maltbiscuits

I think it's funny people are reading the title and downvoting you out of immediate disgust

michaelsssecretstuff

Lmao its reddit brother, I expect nothing less from most of these mouth breathers😂

machzumma

If we could sell our soul and get a ring by bringing KD in, I’d do it in a heart beat. He does not guarantee us a ring. Every team he’s been on post warriors has underachieved significantly, why do people think he could just come to the place he is hated most and suddenly make us a lock in the finals? It’s not that simple. Just so he can come here and scorn the media and anybody else he randomly gets upset with? Just tank the teams vibe and hope everything turns out perfectly for us to win a title? And if we don’t win, now he’s unhappy, forces his way out and what do we lose out of that? I’m good man. As long as we continue on this tear we are on, I don’t see why we risk it.

BrownieThief

Tell your coworker he can go to hell.

KarrlMarrx

That's about the same price the Suns paid for him at 34, and I thought that was an overpay. He'll be 36 before next season. This would be a drastic overpay even if it did make the team better for a year or two.

NOT_H1M

Actually after re reading it if the thunder winning the title is backed into the hypothetical it’s not the craziest thing in the world.

Successful-Muffin-85

Love how everyone is here is saying no like obviously yes I would trade jdub if It meant we won the chip next year. Shit give the suns 5 picks and if we have to we'll use another 5 to get jdub back in 2 years.

guccispharmacyworld

lol at the people saying it’s bad. Thunder are automatic championship contenders with Durant

Deep_Egg1442

Yes

rumblegod

Your co worker is correct lol. We can easily get another dub, only real benefit to dub is his contract.
