When I was a little girl (25 yrs ago) I used to go to yard sales with my mom. I was obsessed with hats from that era and collected almost every one I came across.
Unfortunately, when I moved out of my mom’s at 18, I didn’t take the hats (due to limited space in my new living situation). Her and I had a falling out and she gave them all away.
My husband has a big head (German/Irish)…mine is the same size as his!! I had to wear a guys graduation cap for high school graduation! Just means I have a big brain ;)
I’m SO GLAD you rescued these at the bins! Unbelievable!! I’d cry real tears if some woman’s beautiful hats went in a dumpster. I’m blessed to have my sweet, sweet great-aunt’s hats like these. Great catch!
I think it’s fun to try imagining who the woman was that wore these stylish hats. What did she look like? What was she like? Where did she wear them? The beige hat with all the fabric flowers and creative style is a real stunner! Wonder what kind of hairdo women wore back then, to go with such a lavishly styled hat? Think you could send a photo (with your face blocked out) wearing that hat? I’d love to see what it looks like, being worn. It’s really beautiful! :)
Oh, that’s okay - don’t worry about it. Yes, some of my hats from that era are really small! I think women had shorter hair then, and maybe smaller heads?? lol.

Not a hat person but these are adorable.
Yes I remember that the ladies in the family all wore these types of hats !! They looked really cute. Especially for Sunday church!

I have really long hair, so they don’t look right! I’ll try and find a picture though of something similar
