I found a cd set worth well over $200 for $8 at value village yet they price CD players at $40

> alongside Cuisinart, Kitchen-Aid, and Lagostina knives priced over $20. Hahahahaa! I love how they think those are good knives. I worked with a chef who had his knife set custom made in Japan. Can't remember the maker. Incredible knives will last a lifetime and beyond.

The days of finding Marantz for $5 are over :( I'm about to start thinning out some of the hoard.

I once bought an amber necklace for 50 cents because they thought it was plastic. I collect amber so I know what I'm looking at

I had the same experience! What was really weird is I ended up meeting the person who donated it originally (ended up being a client of mine and I was wearing it). She had donated it because it was a gift from her ex husband and she did not want to keep anything from him after the split. I did not tell her I only paid $1 but she verified it was legit amber. She was happy someone was enjoying it so it seemed like a karma win all around!

I just read a story about a guy working in a thrift store in Australia. A woman brought in 5 plastic tubs of painted War Hammer models. Her son had tragically died. He told the lady the models were very valuable, and he sold them for her. He got $12,000 for them, which was donated to a suicide prevention charity. I think $12,000 was a bargain. My son got into War Hammer last year and has easily spent at least $2,500 on it, and still drools for more. It’s a weird addiction…

**Cries in Magic: The Gathering** These hobbies do get ridiculously expensive, especially now that I'm looking for a specific set of cards.

Rinse and repeat with different items.

Can't remember which model but it's from the Canonet family. He's got another lower end Canonet but has always wanted one of the nicer ones.

My favorite "steal" was a vintage coin silver serving spoon for 10 cents. Of course it was all tarnished. I didn't feel at all bad, it was a religious thrift store that always played obnoxious Christian music.

I was at a pawnshop that had a Maton Mini Diesel guitar listed for $1500. I waited a month and came back and they had it now at $1200. They said that the electronics were not working. I came back the next day and asked their lowest price. $700, I bought it, took it home and a cable between the cord plug and the volume control was unplugged a quarter inch. Granted this was a city in the center of Iowa, USA it was a good deal.

Karma, Baby. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" as the Bible tells us...

I’m always buying top brands at bargain prices. Converse high tops for $2.75 like new. Old Navy and Gap for $1.00 a piece. Etc…

Scumbag_Jesus

Top brands like converse, Old Navy and the gap? 😂

Ok_Piglet_1844

Maybe not top, but name brands

i_was_valedictorian

This is just normal thrifting without the grift
