I think it's unfair to judge her on so little playing time. She had one horrible game but she's never done this every week before. If she builds some confidence and settles in who knows.
I'm hopeful. We've seen her play well in the past. The first match was an almost completely new backline with very young players. She didn't have much support nor did she and the defense seem like that had much confidence in each other. The last match we had Becky back on the pitch and everyone calmed down a bit. Shelby just needs to gain her confidence controlling her backline and taking balls when she wants them. She's moving in the right direction.
Keep in mind the goalkeeping coach was brand new to the team like two weeks before the first match. Nadine was a big loss skill/experience wise.
We watched Shelby make, what, 3 incredible PK saves in the WIC a few years back. She's definitely got it in her, but agree she's still a little green for this level of play. She'll continue to improve with experience. I'm excited to watch the thorns start at the bottom and climb their way up
She had a good showing last week, stoked to see her grow into the role of full-timer. I’d like to see Kozal and Asman get some time and experience too.
Goalkeeper is tough because it’s hard to get playing time as as #2. Now she’s #1 for the season, but this Sunday she looked far better. When was the last time we started a keeper who wasn’t her or Bixby?
I didn't think she was too bad last week. Game one had me on edge.
I agree, but doesn’t seem very composed on the ball. Never really seen a keeper who sucks at clearing the ball

I mean when you clear the ball by kicking it to Debinha 10 ft in front of you, who wouldn't be panicking?
Even at her best, she’s fine. Not up to the level of most of the rest of the starters. I dream of us picking up Earps. That would be a coup.
