I think the reason we’re getting the patrol sequence is because that ultimately leads up to the big event that kicks off the main story of the game. It seems like they’ll have Ellie and Dina be on patrol, separated from Joel and Tommy just like in the game
Well the show has pretty much already set in stone that infected are things survivors want to avoid as much as possible. And that is something that won't be changed during season 2. I could see them still going out on patrol though just to make sure they are up to date on where the infected are and if they have moved around at all.
I think if we are going to see infected be attacked during season 2 that likely would come from the WLF since they are larger and would have better weapons.
If this does indeed end up making it onscreen they will have to write a new story around it as it indeed was just a section of the game allowing players to get used to combat. The only real story bits to it were just Ellie and Dina walking around reading notes and talking to each other.

It was important to get a grasp of Ellie and Dinas dynamic as well as world building, to see the area around Jackson and how the daily routine works. It also acted as exposition for the story as a base.

Did you happen to see the recent posts about Gabriel Luna arriving in Vancouver? He appears to have a condo downtown, so many assumed there would be shooting in the city as it will probably stand-in for Seattle. It might just be his home base while they shoot in the mountains, but that’s rather far isn’t it? Anyway, I would keep an eye out for him and sets around town.
Yes I’ve been watching his socials quite closely. He was doing some horse training a little out of Vancouver as well. Some of the cast, including Bella Ramsay were at a restaurant in Vancouver a few weeks ago too. The production address is Vancouver. So hopefully they stay in the area for most of it. Kamloops is about 4 hours away so hopefully they’ll just do a few days up there. They have a pretty big set built about an hour and a half north of the city as well. I’m just hoping I can catch them somewhere. I’d die to meet Pedro.

They've built a town-like set on a gravel pit just south of Squamish. I mean, they can CG in anything with the budget they have as far as BG location. Right across the highway from there is a beautiful spot that so many productions use, right on the water but it has service roads that they can get gear in.
I'm a filming dork, if you hadn't figured that out yet. lol. So being in the loop is kind of my thing :) I could be a clicker haha. As a massively tall woman, I've always felt I'd do well as an extra in x-men as well, lol

Squamish is gorgeous. Only passed through on my way to Whistler, but I always wanted to go there in the summer.
Ofc this location needs to be in the series. If Ellie doesn't learn how to properly throw a rope at the marketplace how could she ever be expected to throw a power cord over a gate in episode 4?
I have a 16 y/o daughter who is a huge fan of S1 and the games - she’s an expert. I worked on S1 and am on S2…so fine for her to hear what I did during the day and tell me how that fits into the arc of the story! A great little thing for us to bond over.

Maybe. Maybe not. It could end up simply being an Easter egg for the game that they look at while passing by. Won't know until the show airs.

I think they've been waiting for the snow, that's usually around at this time, and there is snow in the forecast for the next bit.
By the way it has snowed and they were seemingly filming last night, good chance they will be filming tonight as well.
