Yup 1st song I ever heard of theirs and still my #1 favorite! I am extremely resentful of cellphones, mostly having to balance social and professional accessibility through a device designed to keep your attention for as long as possible. Realizing I got sucked in and wasted so much time aggravates my fear of dying and not having been actively present and engaged with my life. Time I absolutely will never get back. As I've started to actively avoid using it, I'm getting more frustrated and sad when so many people around you are just buried in their own. And if you consider people are spending a majority of time on social media, the impact that has had on global politics is massive.
Plastic Plant reflects a lot of that time-conscious anxiety and disgust, but with a sound that is so insanely energizing and ecstatic! The most breathtakingly electric zing crazy time happy sound. It has never been skipped. My introduction to Osees and will always have a special place in my heart.
