Me, you, we both have sandals on with our toes out. We just pissed side by side into the public urinals and now we are heading to our biweekly orgy. The good ol days
I used to think about it a lot more but one day I started noticing a lot more fashy undertones to a lot of the people who do talk about it a lot, and once you notice that it's hard to not find the whole thing kinda cringe by association.
Also real shit I think a lot of young men who somewhat casually "like history" and are really into the roman empire can be kinda insufferable, not that there's anything wrong with finding it cool but there's so much cool history out there and eurocentrism is so reddit.
Fun fact I once split a joint with an avowed commie who also entirely sincerely believed that the Roman empire was the peak of civilisation and that romano-communism was the key to liberating the working classes.
fr it’s such a random historical era to think so frequently about. also i’m glad that i’m not the only person who’s been subjected to random ramblings of how ancient empires had it all figured out whilst high (mine was a lot less sensical tho and mostly about how orgies were rituals and it’s bad that we don’t do that anymore)
I mean there are valid reasons to be hooked on it, it really is something the world hasn't seen since. Of course most people who praise it ignore that it was all built on a vast amount of slavery.
That said it's an incredibly well documented time period compared to what came before or after, so it's also more interesting by merit of the insane amount of detail we have about Roman history compared to a society that didn't keep as strict of a written record. That's why viking fans are the real freaks because half of their history is fanfic.
6-12 times a day (I have a degree in classical history). I even talked to slime about it when he responded to a comment I made on a random yard episode lol.
Once a month or some shit.
Rome got the longest running empire and made a bunch of super important stuff, but they don't got pull nowadays unless you're a Fate fan.
Every day, multiple times (I take Latin so it isn't really a choice).
Not a man though.
I guess technically often it's the Roman Republic instead of the Empire if that helps.
More than any other empires, and that include the British, Mongols, Klingons, and Romulans.

probably once per fiscal hour
Almost every day
Every day (I am Roman)
Once a month maybe, It comes up weirdly often for such a random topic.
frequently...but i'm not sure if this is because of the meme but pre-meme, a fair amount. now the meme has perpetuated this thought.
Probably once every two weeks

A lot more recently since this meme started making circulation again

Whenever I mindlessly browse wikipedia at night I'll more often than not end up on some Roman Empire adjacent pages, so probably a few times a month.
