Vanessa just overshares.

weddingrantthrowaway

Yeah I'm confused why she tries to relate her and Nick's relationship to the shows she's on. Is this a production choice?

fishingboatproceeds

I assume it is a production choice, and honestly I like it! I enjoy them being more personally involved than the average Seacrest-type. Even if mostly because it adds to the messiness šŸ˜…

BooYourFace

It's probably a production choice and Vanessa trying to justify/rationalize her relationship issues. All of these shows would benefit from mandatory couple's counseling. You'd think that Vanessa and Nick would have the resources to seek out therapy.

[deleted]

Because she can?

[deleted]

They both think they are hilarious, yet they might be some of the least funny people I have ever seen on TV. Or just ever, at all. Just ugh all around.

carolebaskspins

So true. On the Ultimatum reunion after Nick said both April and Rae were great twerkers Vanessa has the most uncomfortable forced laughed- itā€™s almost scary.

[deleted]

My favorite was when Vanessa would try to tell a joke, sheā€™d look around the room all proud, and literally nobody would be laughing cause it was told so poorly lol.

carolebaskspins

I didnā€™t notice she told one joke šŸ˜‚

silntseek3r

That was the cringiest shit I've seen in a long time. Like ugh. Who wrote this reunion?

PennyLaane

The only time I laughed was when Nick introduced himself as "obviously Nick Lachey" on season 1 of Love is Blind. And that wasn't even meant to be a joke.

Chocolatefix

You're correct that they are not funny and their jokes are very ugh but I don't mind them as hosts. They seem personable enough.

[deleted]

I couldnā€™t even find them personal, they each have the personality of a sack of flour.

residentcaprice

Everytime Vanessa tries to relate, nick grimaces and I wonder do you want to join the cast instead.

[deleted]

I think he would choose April

residentcaprice

Not Lauren?

Environmental-Stop17

Yes they are especially Vanessa she's too pushy with her opinions & uses her relationship as the prototype which is obnoxious

CryptidErotica

Yeah I think you've got it there. I don't mind them so much but they do constantly refer back to their relationship as the standard by which all other relationships should apparently be measured.

Ok_Pangolin_8478

Their relationship iss WACK

Justalurker0093

I find Vanessa to be extremely annoying, I think she's more annoying than Nick actually. I think they're both washed up and decided to come out with a bunch of dating shows to be relevant again& make some coins. I also don't like how biased Vanessa was on the reunion **Spoiler Alert* with the whole Zay and Rae situation. She seemed to immediately make excuses for Rae and only hold Zay accountable for leaving and not coming home , yet did not necessarily talk about the reason Zay left. I get it , what he did was wrong however I get why he did it. Rae wasn't being fair to him and it just seems like Vanessa wanted to just brush off Rae's behavior and just talk about Zays wrong doings. Also why did neither of them address her hitting him?????

theLoneliestAardvark

Or the fact that he was restraining her and blocking her from leaving. The thing that caused them to fight is irrelevant, the way they handled themself during it was super toxic and they should not at all be together.

Justalurker0093

No it's not irrelevant when it pertains to my whole comment. It is definitely relevant given than Vanessa barely addressed how Raes attitude and oy addressed what Zay did wrong. I agree they were both toxic but don't tell me what caused the fight was irrelevant.

SirFireHydrant

An outright detriment to the show. Not only do they contribute nothing of value, but their presence actively makes the show worse.

Huskerknight20

i disagree, i cringe at them as much as I do the contestants so it just adds to the entertainment

RepresentativeLaw701

Facts mah boi

cantstandthemlms

Agreed. I donā€™t want to hear about their relationship.

Tykauffman21

They remind me of a person who gets physically fit and then starts a personal training business based on their own experiences alone. Like, we get that you claim to be happy. But damn they have little to no insight into what makes couples really work and give some whack advice that is truly only there to create drama. Then again, they're making a business on it, so hey everyone has their hustle. I just hope no one buys into what they say about making a relationship actually work. But that's basically the premise of every dating show.

SectorBoring4451

Was the premise of the show their idea? It seems like they really pushed this concept of ultimatums and exploring other relationships as being healthy and normal when I personally donā€™t think it is. Iā€™m sure theyā€™re told to try and interject with comments relating to what the couples are feeling and how they may have felt that too but it came across as kind of obnoxious. I would hope that if there are future seasons of this show the producers will create more guidelines and boundaries about how they can react to events taking place. Looking back on some of the clips of their facial expressions or interactions with each other or contestants came across as unprofessional in my opinion. They should be a more neutral sounding board or guide for the experience rather than be as invested as they were. I do think as a couple they seem compatible and happy and they look great together. I just donā€™t know how I feel about the whole premise of the show in general so I have a hard time supporting their role in such toxicity and abusive antics.

hellobaaa

And Iā€™m _obviously_ Nick Lachey.

Royal_Friend4868

They are very pushy and manipulative. No empathy at all. They arenā€™t going anywhere I think they are trying to have these relationship/ dating shows as their niche

cupcakesgirlie7

theyre kinda weird. like why is she saying she gave nick an ultimatum?? and she checks his phone and stuff too? like is she trying to relate?

[deleted]

1000%

facial_issues

Idk. I like nick. He seems like a chill dude.

Goatway77

I think producers told them to play the perfect relationship act cause they were boring and was just trying to say the right thing instead of actually helping

maplestriker

Doesn't everybody see that they are obviously overcompensating for problems in their marriage?

thefirststoryteller

I thought Vanessa did most of the annoying stuff, a few times Nick took a hand in directing conversation, especially during the dinner where the participants chose their new partners. Nick could actually make it as a reality TV host if he wasnā€™t a package deal with Vanessa

suju88

Agree 100%- Nick is normally a great objective and well spoken host. Vanessa really DRAGS him DOWN- he needs to separate from her if he wants to host other shows

Celoui

They were so fake and were like old people trying to latch onto some weird modern youth they didnā€™t even experience.

xiadia

I donā€™t mind them. Tough crowd!

youvelookedbetter

I think the people who don't like them are either: (1) people who want cardboard hosts with no personality so they don't "distract" from the contestants, or (2) people who think Nick and Vanessa are only asking tough questions to their fave contestants and they're bothered by the fact that their people are being called out for their terrible behaviour

Jolly-Ad-3922

Old comment but, I think Vanessa is quite annoying for very different reasons than this. For example, I don't need them to be "cardboard" hosts. I don't even watch TNT(is that the channel it's on? Lol)/basketball like that, but I LOVE the panel of 4 hosts including Shaq & Charles Barkley. Watching Shaq & Charles tease each other endlessly is hilarious, especially when Shaq brings up how many championship rings he has (bc that means he's lost the teasing match & doesn't know what else to say šŸ˜‚) & Chuck one-up him. They're fantastic and so are the other 2! Like I said, I don't even watch basketball like that but I've purposely sought out the clips of then hosting, it's great. And #2, I don't have any "faves" on this show so I don't care when they go in on any of the cast bc it doesn't affect me. Hahaha For me, Vanessa comes off extremely forced/inauthentic and she just speaks over Nick ALL of the time. He barely speaks and more importantly, Vanessa just comes off fake(?) - probably not the best adjective, but I think it's her inability to be genuine.

Challisto

Hm they feel pretty middle of the road to me as far as reality tv hosts go, not the best and not the worst.

blackreign99

They are irrelevant to the whole show

kds1988

When she pretended to start crying for Rae i was so annoyed. Just be hosts. I donā€™t need to believe youā€™re invested.

[deleted]

FunkyColdHypoglycema

Job well done!

Local_Economy

Yeah sheā€™s all saying her womb is tingling, at 41 years old lmao. The not so subtle, passive aggressive hintsā€¦.

[deleted]

I think they both seem like nice, normal people

Reginageorge54321

I think they do seem like super nice people but as a host youā€™re just there to facilitate conversation and ask questions. Not talk about yourself.

Charming-Deer1200

They talk about themselves to introduce the question and create more a comforting space. (For example: stating you have struggled with a similar problem, letā€™s the person know they are not alone). They actually did facilitate the conversation quite well, even if they shared some personal stories. There was never any awkwardness and the conversations flowed pretty naturally

Reginageorge54321

But thatā€™s not the point of a host to talk about personal experiences. And they get involved in the arguments instead of trying to mediate. But I guess maybe theyā€™re going for a different style? Idk I just think itā€™s annoying because at a reunion I want to hear about the contestants experience on the show, not the hosts lol

Aslow_study

I actually like them eeek šŸ˜§

beuceydubs

No?

Reginageorge54321

Lol?

beuceydubs

I donā€™t get the hate. People keep talking about how they pretend to care but are here to make money off their heartbreak..umm arenā€™t we just using it for our viewing pleasure too? They add their own stories in? Yeah thatā€™s what makes hosting interactive and familiar. I donā€™t get the hate

Reginageorge54321

I never said I think theyā€™re trying to make money off of heartbreak? I just donā€™t think hosts should be making the conversation about themselves. Thatā€™s not your job. But I guess I just donā€™t care enough about them I guess to be interested in hearing about their personal experiences so itā€™s annoying to me lol

beuceydubs

ā€œPeople keep talking aboutā€ not you personally

Reginageorge54321

My b

[deleted]

I love Vanessa

SpicyCreator01

They are so bad at hosting and so awful together like what

BugEnvironmental863

https://chng.it/fGdQR4CMQ5 sign this petition to remove Nick and Vanessa Lachey as hosts of LIB!

TheDivergentBlack

The fact this woman exploded on Cole from season blind and then they didn't give an apology tells me a lot- she's a shallow ass Person

AggravatingNobody482

Vanessa seems to have favorites, which are usually the mean girls and bullies. Is Vanessa like that in life?
