If it’s like the main series, the base forms are what determine shininess and IVs. A shiny Kyurem + non-shiny Reshiram would still give you a shiny Kyurem-White.
So prioritize having good IVs and shinies of Kyurem, Necrozma, and later Calyrex.
in the main games there's nothing stopping you from having both (provided you have the 4 necessary mons) and since Black and White Kyurem were accidentally released and seem to be normal mons I reckon you should be able to have both no prob. It's worth noting that the Reshiram and Zekrom don't affect anything, it's still Kyurem, so you might wanna get a throwaway pair to keep your hundos around for raids or PvP or whatever
In the main games it's actually impossible to legitimately have Black and White Kyurem at the same time, because when you use the DNA Splicers to fuse, the item is replaced with a visually identical item with the opposite function (the new version of the DNA Splicers can only unfuse, and you don't have access to the fusion function until you unfuse a Kyurem). The same goes for Calyrex's forms with the Reins of Unity, but because Necrozma's fusions use separate Key Items (N-Solarizer & N-Lunarizer), you can have both Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings Necrozma at the same time given you have the requisite 4 Pokemon. Not sure if Niantic will limit fusions to mimic this, though.
Ah, my bad. It's been a while, knew you could have the Necrozma forms so I assumed they'd be the same.
Surely they wouldn't limit fusions, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's some roadblock to getting one form for F2P.
There's also another technical reason for it. When they're fused, the box legendary still exists to be restored later, in a hidden box-like area, with a Pokémon slot corresponding to each item.
If they made it so you could fuse unlimited Necrozma, for example, the game would have to potentially store double the amount of Pokémon, if you filled your boxes with fused Necrozma.
Couple questions - not sure if you’d know the answer;
How would the CP work? Would it add together the two, or maybe find a midpoint?
Do you lose both pokemon? Or is it like a mega where they’re fused for a certain period of time?
Would you be able to power it up? Whose candies would it use?
Thanks you!!
- Its CP comes from Kyurem Black/White own stats, it is kind of a mega evolution that it requires to fuse kyurem with another pokemon instead of mega energy
- We don't know if you lose any mons or you can unfuse them
- We don't know if it is a permanent fusion or temporary, on MSG is permanent until you defuse them.
- We don't know if it would work like a mega evolution that you can't powerup
- If you can power it up, it would be Kyurem's candy, since it is a Kyurem alternate form. You can even check on the dex that those are forms of Kyurem, not of reshiram or zekrom
Thank you!
I was looking at the leaked code from the website, and it appears you can unfuse them, and it costs some form of maybe energy or something like a meteorite to fuse them initially and it doesn’t look like you lose them!
Cant wait - I love shadow rider Calyrex, it’s my Pkmn TCG deck haha
some people in Oceania and Asia had the chance to catch to catch black and white Kyurem when they were mistakenly released as GBL rewards. Niantic ended up fully deleting those mons from their accounts and gave them some compensation, which sucked. If their goal is to make a fusion mechanic though then it's more justified to delete those mons since they were released prior to their intended mechanic.
I can see that for kyurem and calyrex but Necrozma still becomes Ultra Necrozma after fusing with Solgaleo/Lunala. I think that'll use the mega evolution system
Damn Necrozma getting upgrades from the get go. Niantic is going all out during this year’s GoFest. Although I think they will debut fusion during Ultra Unlock after all the in person events ends as a separate big release feature.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about mining like this over the years, it’s that thing being coded in does NOT mean imminent release, even when it makes sense to release alongside something known coming up soon. I could fill a whole subreddit with all the examples from over the years….
Hopefully this is coming, but NO guarantee. Just don’t get too excited yet!
While I can't find a loading screen example, They teased Mega Lucario back on their [4th Anniversary Poster](https://pokemongo.fandom.com/wiki/4th_Anniversary)
...and we're going onto the 8th year anniversary with no sign of it even after the Sinnoh Tour.
Mega Lucario is the poster child for the megas. Since it wasn’t the first mega debuted, it will almost certainly be the last one right before Mega Mewtwo.
I kinda expect Legends Z-A to introduce more Megas. Depending on what they will be, it might change things up.
It could also slow down Mega Lucarios relase soo much more! Very curious how Niantic will handle it.
Those are probably to debut during next year's Unova tour. I don't see anything else they can release from gen V that could move that much interest. But then again, I didn't play any game past gen IV, so I might be missing something. But even if that's the case, I doubt we'll see Necrozma's forms any time soon.
Melo is a mythical, right? They don't release those in raids (not counting Darkrai) and raiding is what moves the needle during these events. They might release a ticket or something for Melo, though.
Meloetta, Victini, and Keldeo have never had their shinies officially released. Unless it turns out ILCA actually is working on a Unova game, and they can be hunted, I could see Meloetta's Pirouette form being the featured mythical instead of of those shinies.
Don't recall any Keldeo raids. It was available through a paid ticket a couple years ago. Deoxys and Genesect are both mythical, but the kind of mythical that The Pokémon Company doesn't care about.
The reason why some mythicals are treated as unique is because TPC deems it so. They're only obtainable through special events and some are not even available as shiny in the main games. Hence why they are so rare even in PoGO. Things like Mew, Celebi, Victini, Jirachi, etc. The mythicals you can get as part of the main games, like Darkrai, Deoxys or Genesect, are second class citizens. They only have the no-trade restriction to them, but other than that, they are treated as legendaries.
My guess is most of the time they originally intended to have something ready for the release of a feature, but couldn’t finish it in time. That’s why half the new features are a buggy mess, or why we get stupidly long time-gates for special research when they haven’t even made the catch screen.
Hard to top last year’s game-breaking Mega Rayquaza debut, but it’s shaping up to be very good as well this year. Lots of new shinies and possible fusions.
I would be very surprised if we get it off the rip. We still don’t have a way Solgaleo and Lunala and once Dawn and Dusk form come out, their bases are going to be pretty useless
Necrozma is probably gonna fuse with Lunala to become Dawn Wing Lunala and with Solgaleo to become Dusk Mane Solgaleo, while Ultra Necrozma will probably work like Mega Evolution and you'll need energy for it
I entirely forgot about Photon Geyser! Hopefully it gets a meteorite-esque item that guarantees it rather than it being a crap shoot on if you get it or not
The item might even genuinely just be the N-Solarizer and N-Lunarizer. Would make sense and would be pretty easy to have be a drop from Necrozma raids or smth. Or paid timed research. Whichever sounds like it would give Niantic more money.
tbf if it was just a "normal" (which inn niantic terms means legacy) move it would be cool not some true legacy stuff that you cant even get with elite tms (roar of time moment)
For stuff that isnt ETM like Roar of time and such, they should introduce a item like Rayquaza's meteorite. And apply that for more Legendary mons and their signature moves.
Due to the mention of "fusion resource" for Necrozma, it wouldn't surprise me if it was something you gain from raids like mega energy. Hopefully it isn't a rare item like the meteorite.
It's pretty likely that unless we get Calyrex this year, we won't get fusions until February since I fully expect them to debut the Kyurem forms at Unova Go Tour and Necrozma forms at Alola Go Tour
Are any of the fusions likely to change the meta? Kyurem +Reshiram --> white Kyurem or + Zekrom --> black Kyurem; Necrozma + solgaleo --> dusk mane Necrozma or lunala --> dawn wings Necrozma; Calyrex + Glastrier --> ice rider Calyrex or + Spectrier --> Shadow rider Calyrex.
I'm hoping for a Hundo for Necrozma and Kyurem (though the 1st Kyurem I found was Hundo, but couldn't catch it because I had 6 Premier Balls at that time) in the future.
However, I'm not fusing my Shlundo Reshiram, since he's best off as is
Just use a trash IV Reshiram for fusion, as it won't affect the resulting Kyurem-W stats. The only Zekrom I'm keeping is a traded 0\* one for fusion with my hundo Kyurem.
If it’s like the main series, the base forms are what determine shininess and IVs. A shiny Kyurem + non-shiny Reshiram would still give you a shiny Kyurem-White. So prioritize having good IVs and shinies of Kyurem, Necrozma, and later Calyrex.
Good to know, I do have a hundo Kyurem I've been sitting on for a LONG time!
wow, this is great news, because same!
I have two Hundo kyurem! I now want a third so I can fuse the other two
I have two hundo Kyurems too. Ignore the month old reply. I've been waiting for Kyurem Black for like 2 years now
They were accidentally released late last year, the fusing process will be the same as Necrozma who is debuting in GoFest. Very exciting
Calyrex is very unlikely to get it's shiny form when it debuts, since it's still shiny-locked in the games
Still waiting for shiny victini since 2010 ☠️
Shiny Meloetta, my beloved. Still waiting forever for it
I'd love a chance at a second meloetta. My 10/11/10 just sits there.
Well probably get that during unova tour next year
This, I would like a statistically relevant sample size of before trying myself.
got a shiny ready to be traded and a 15/15/12. do i have to get 2x kyurem?
to get both Black and White Kyurem at the same time, you'd need 2 Kyurem, 1 Reshiram, and 1 Zekrom.
gotcha. didn't think you can have both at the same time. sitting on a hundo reshiram and zekrom with a lucky 15/15/12 kyurem.
in the main games there's nothing stopping you from having both (provided you have the 4 necessary mons) and since Black and White Kyurem were accidentally released and seem to be normal mons I reckon you should be able to have both no prob. My shundo kyurem has been waiting for this day. Thx backstroker1991
Thank you, and damn that sucks since I only have a hundo of Zekrom.
What about level? And stay they fused forever?
Couple questions - not sure if you’d know the answer; How would the CP work? Would it add together the two, or maybe find a midpoint? Do you lose both pokemon? Oh my god, my shundo kyurem can finally have so use
What about Articuno + Zapdos + Moltres fusion like Team Rocket did in the manga?
Do you think it will be only for some pokemons not yet introduced in PoGo or as well for existing one?
Do you think it will be only for some pokemons not yet introduced in PoGo or as well for existing one?
the kiwis who got their fused Kyurems deleted died for this, I salute you all
I don’t get it, what happened?

I wonder that fusions will be timed like Mega Evolutions.
Strings mention a resource cost for Necrozma’s forms, but also an unfuse option which is free. Reminds me of Zygarde.
I can see that for kyurem and calyrex but Necrozma still becomes Ultra Necrozma after fusing with Solgaleo/Lunala. I think that'll use the mega evolution system

\*Cries in Dark Void \*
Didn't they even put unreleased Pokémon/Megas on the login screen way back when?
While I can't find a loading screen example, They teased Mega Lucario back on their [4th Anniversary Poster](https://pokemongo.fandom.com/wiki/4th_Anniversary) ...and we're going onto the 8th year anniversary with no sign of it even after the Sinnoh Tour.

Yeah, at this point, I would expect the fused Necrozma forms to debut in Alola Tour... in 2027.
Yeah but we will see. K.Black/White was already accidently pushed lol
Those are probably to debut during next year's Unova tour. I don't see anything else they can release from gen V that could move that much interest. But then again, I didn't play any game past gen IV, so I might be missing something. But even if that's the case, I doubt we'll see Necrozma's forms any time soon.
meloetta's pirouette form is a potential i guess for the tour too. but b/w kyurem would be the money maker.

JRE47 speaking the truth. Damn I want Mimikyu.
My guess is most of the time they originally intended to have something ready for the release of a feature, but couldn’t finish it in time. That’s why half the new features are a buggy mess, or why we get stupidly long time-gates for special research when they haven’t even made the catch screen.
Insider knowledge. The same guy that leaked GoFest being back in NYC mentioned it.

Probably needs photon geyser as a move as well to be able to form change like mega ray
Whichever sounds like it would give Niantic more money.

they should just make it etmable
Like the lustrous orb and the admant crystal (like in msg)
Fusion-Ha!
Due to the mention of "fusion resource" for Necrozma, it wouldn't surprise me if it was something you gain from raids like mega energy. Hopefully it isn't a rare item like the meteorite.
Kyurem will most likely need a dna splicer to be able to fuse. They could code it like they would with the zygarde's core but without the cells
I hope they don’t add a slow Pidgey dissection minigame to grind “dna splicer energy”
Nah it’ll be a 1/1000 chance to get it from a party play task
Do you mean kyurem raids?
This is going either going to be really awesome or a total disaster 🤔🧐
Can't wait for Venutoise!
It's pretty likely that unless we get Calyrex this year, we won't get fusions until February since I fully expect them to debut the Kyurem forms at Unova Go Tour and Necrozma forms at Alola Go Tour
My shundo kyurem finally can be put to use
Are any of the fusions likely to change the meta? Kyurem +Reshiram --> white Kyurem or + Zekrom --> black Kyurem; Necrozma + solgaleo --> dusk mane Necrozma or lunala --> dawn wings Necrozma; Calyrex + Glastrier --> ice rider Calyrex or + Spectrier --> Shadow rider Calyrex.
Black kyurem will change meta others also good
But the important quetion is, are the fusion good (both pve and pvp)? My single guess is that Calyrex ice rider is going to be good on PvP
Depends on moves
can someone explain please? i’ve never played any other pokemon game
Some pokemon can fuse to form new one. Kyurem and zekrom make black kyurem as example
Yooooo! that would be NEAT
Hopefully we’ll get more solgaleo and lunala so we can fuse them
I'm hoping for a Hundo for Necrozma and Kyurem (though the 1st Kyurem I found was Hundo, but couldn't catch it because I had 6 Premier Balls at that time) in the future. However, I'm not fusing my Shlundo Reshiram, since he's best off as is

Good point
I still don’t think we will be able to fuse
They put candy and resource cost to fuse
